It’s a clear demonstration that MJ was much more than an entertainer, he was a diplomat & true communicator. Personally I remember when these events happened. MJ would be headline news worldwide. He was only beaten out by Princess Diana.
These were the days well before smartphones & universal internet access. It’s so difficult to explain just how big Michael was. No one can explain but I was there & watched it all. It was an incredible time.

It's all the more impressive that Michael was received in this way because of his talent and because of the kind of person he was. With Princess Diana it was her duty and her role. She was received in this way only because she married into the British Royal Family. With MJ he wasn't an elected politician, a state diplomat, or a Royal, but he was treated like all three combined by the people and presidents of every country he visited. Just for being him. ASTOUNDING! There's no way it will ever happen again with anyone else!
