Those chrome wheels look awful Mike. They don't fit the car. But the rest of the car is very sharp. Elegant and proud. Should get a nice price. Stay high on the price.....bet you get it. Great video.
Yeah they don't look great especially with the lower grey cladding. May work better if the lower panels were body color, but there are still nicer wheels for the W140
That was always my biggest peeve about the 126 & 140’s I’ve owned. These 4 little gears are made from a white or colored plastic that dry out and break! At least it’s an easy and cheap fix!! Thank God they make metal replacements so it will never happen again! Well done.
In Europe, the W140's prices are rapidly increasing because the first ones are 30 years old, they enter the yountimer category, they are the last Benz built with no regard to the final cost and they can be registered as historic vehicle (hence low registration tax, low insurrance fares) so they are appealing to car collectors. Here you could sell it at least $7k or $8k. And these rims don't fit the car. I would prefer "periodically correct" rims

Hey Mike, I seriously doubt its just the sending units giving the problem with the gauges. I just found your channel so I apologize if you've already covered this, but have you had any wiring harness trouble with this car? Or noticed any deterioration due to the biodegradable insulation? I've got a 92 600SEL, the upper engine/injection harness was already replaced quite some time ago as they tended to fail pretty quickly on the V12s. The lower engine harness, main engine harness, and throttle bodies are original on mine. Main engine harness is starting to fall apart and I'm not looking forward to replacing it. I try not to touch it since the insulation is flaking off so badly in some spots.
