- This season, Sotheby’s has paid tribute to creative voices from the 19th century to today who have pushed boundaries and challenged the definition of art. Inspired by these bold creators, we invited artist-activist Ai Weiwei and musician, producer and entrepreneur A$AP Rocky, two very different voices, to discuss the courage needed to create truly original artwork. Through their current projects, the pair reveal complementary sources of inspiration and a unified vision of why art is central to humanity. Their shared commitment to creative expression defines what it means to be Fearless Now.
visited Ai Weiwei's exhibiton in Prague's National Gallery, my hometown, couple times.. didn't expect Ai Weiwei and A$AP Rocky in one video, like ever.

What rapper, at least based in the US lived Ai's life tho? And who would Ai have been had he lived any of theirs? What's great about this is the equivalency between two radically genius, creative, and necessary/relevant forms of art and social commentary/criticism. Look at them both as symbols rather than individuals and you get what I mean. One validates the other here, and it's awesome to see that.

A or maybe it’s because rocky has had braids longer then Travis and his album is called testing and it’s supposed to be a testing dummy looking like him...
My point is it’s funny that Rocky accuses Travis of biting him but then ends up having a very similar cover. I understand it’s a fucking testing dummy that doesn’t detract from the fact it looks incredibly similar. I’m not accusing Rocky of biting I’m pointing out the irony and the indisputable similarities. If i released an album called ‘naked baby swimming in pool’ and had a cover with a naked baby in a swimming pool I couldn’t fucking argue it’s not similar to Nirvana’s Nevermind because my album is called fucking ‘naked baby in a swimming pool’ you fucking mug
A ...their covers don’t even bear the slightest resemblance. Rocky is inspired: Travis is influenced. If you watch Rocky’s evolution as an artist he has been on a slow transition to this state but still on the same wave, unlike Travis who dressed like a Houstonian before Rocky. He didn’t transition smoothly and wasn’t inspired, he literally was mistaken for Rocky and they look nothing alike.

Alexander Arez Martins look deeper into his music, especially the sounds in his music it’s different. People aren’t rapping the way he is on the types of beats he’s rapping on. Not to mention rocky changed fashions and streetwear, so many people copy his style in the Industry that Rocky’s style looks basic when in reality he started. Rocky is one of the biggest influences in fashion and music today and people just don’t realize it

Long Live and ALLA were great dont get me wrong, but he seems to have stepped back from what made his music so amazing in the first place and has really really dumbed his stuff down. I get it that it's harder to see that if you stan him or whatever, but his work since ALLA has been getting a ton of negative responses both critically and from fans.
