Uniting the efforts of all our Resorts & Leisure operations in Mauritius for a Stronger Commitment towards our Planet Earth, Now For Tomorrow is our pledge to consolidate resilient development, favour sustainable consumption, preserve the biodiversity of Mauritius through mindful development and valorise cultural and historical heritage, and maintain vibrant communities.
During the last 2 years, our efforts and energy have been poured into areas of improvement resulting today in :
◾️ The maintenance of 10 modules of artificial reefs in Bel Ombre. This has enabled notable regeneration of corals, recording 20 new fish species in our lagoon and the restoration of up to 5m wide of beach.
◾️ 65% of our resorts’ waste diverted from the landfill through our recycling programs
◾️ More than 27 tons of plastic bottles avoided within our resorts in Bel Ombre with the implementation of our inhouse water bottling plant
◾️ In line with our objective of Food Waste prevention, more than 3000 meals have been served to vulnerable communities through our partnership with the local association FoodWise.
◾️ We launched our Heritage Training Academy to upskill our Community to join our Hospitality sector.
We greatly value the collaborative work and team spirit being done on the ground with all our partners and communities, sharing best practices and information, finding solutions to innovate and work together for a more Sustainable Tomorrow.
As a key actor in the local and regional economy, we commit to further reinforce our engagement and stand-by our commitments!
✅ As from October 21, we commit towards Carbon Neutral Stays for all our guests holidaying at our Heritage resorts in Bel Ombre.
✅ As from January 2022, we commit to source 100% of our fruits, vegetables, seafood, poultry, and meat in priority from Mauritian farmers, growers & suppliers and supported by regional partners in the Indian Ocean.
✅ We commit to intensify energy efficient initiatives here in Bel Ombre and increase our share of renewable energy to achieve 80% by 2025.
✅ We commit to further develop our Conservation Programme with tangible initiatives around Lagoon & Reefs, Forests, Riverines and Wetlands.
✅ And commit to upgrade our Waste Management with the objective of recycling 75% of our waste in our 9 hotels & resorts by 2022.
