I'd really like a view into the "neurological" side of things: how is he animated? What controls his emotions? Will he have a voice? Nowadays you could get an off-the-shelf large language model to interact with humans, along with a sentiment detection algorithm to also provide emotional expression, but I don't know if You would be interested in pursuing it. Much love ❤

would be nice, but as we all know CP4T is pretty unhinged when it comes to his feelings and thoughts and how he reacts to ppls feelings so you would really need to go in to the deep end reasearching all his behaviour patterns depending on the emotions shown in the game. Could take quite sometime.

Very cool project. I personally always like Claptrap's scrappy design. Not that the real-world build is simple, but I think part of the reason Claptrap is so charming in the games is that they didn't really overthink his design, and they let the voice actor really elevate the character. Similar in concept to Wheatley I guess now that I think about it. And GladOS too I suppose, considering that you don't even see her for the majority of the game(s).

Can i perhaps suggest one of the beetleworx from disney's epic mickey? They have unique designs but are obscure enough that no one has repilcated them in real life. There are four unique types, hoppers, spinners, tankers, and bashers. The first one is just imposable because it only has one leg and hops around on it.
