I have been doing Pilates seriously for 6 years and finally purchased my own reformer. I have been trying all RUclips channels for Pilates. Yours is, by far, the best channel. You’re workouts are creative, always different and a challenge. I am making my way through your free classes then intend to subscribe. FYI-Merrithew moved to one loop (vs short/long loops) and has you double over the loop for short loop. As a result, the “long loop” is too small to insert the foam roller. I substituted the maple pole for those exercises.
Thank you Lori. And thanks for letting me know about the loops. I actually purchased mine separate. My balanced body reformer came with single loops but I’m in love with elements loops because they are padded. Here is a link if you are interested. momentumworld.online/ref/april.plank/
@@aprilplankpilates I hate to bother you, but I checked out the loops and if I found the ones you recommended, they come with cotton mix, fleece or neoprene. I have no clue which ones you suggested. Your help would be appreciated. Lori
In the foam roller video, you mention knitting the ribs together. Do you have a video showing exactly what that looks like. I've heard the phrase many times, but not exactly sure how to "knit the ribs together" Thank you😊
It basically means to not arch the back and over extend the spine. For example in hug a tree when the arms open to the side keep the spine neutral and don’t “pop the ribs” open. Keep the spine neutral and only open the arms. Does that help? If you think of the front of the rib cage where the breast bone is and drawing that together in the front. Let me know if that helps or I can do a video.
April Plank I have a question. I have a spring reformer a XP 557 and my foam roller would barely go into the straps for the foot work. I had to really struggle with the straps and I have double loop straps,, any suggestions or sites where I can get something that will work. This was a good core workout.
I have a pilates reformer and a foam roller, thank you very much. I showed my wife your exercises. Both of us use this wonderful machine.
Glad you both liked it. The reformer is amazing 😊
