I find this to be one of the funnest things about GB. I have a few little projects that don’t sound a heck of a lot different than what u made here! 😄 Good refresher on some of the ways to make it unique! Thanks!
Thanks my friend. Appreciate the kind words. I hope you get value from the other videos on the channel and consider subscribing if you haven’t already. 👍.
Pete, are there any tricks to altering or editing non midi loops? There’s a slap bass loop that I want to use but change a bit. And I don’t see any slap bass category to okay on my own in GB.
Yeah it can be done by chopping up loops but actually changing notes can be challenging. I cover this a bit here - ruclips.net/video/1oUaX81ATlY/видео.html
You can use it for commercial projects without changing key. Just make sure you have a unique combination of loops and sounds that nobody else has used and you’ll be fine. ruclips.net/video/IIqi6TRnTk4/видео.html
hi pete...nike frin ogh here. Could you explain how to set up my pads on my minilab mk2 so they would be used to control short recorded tracks... press pad...play something, press another pad, play something and so on. I understand it has something to do with mapping the pads to a particular midi channel but just cant get there. Thanks...
Hey there. GarageBand iOS doesn’t really support pads super well unfortunately. Something like Auria Pro or Beatmaker might be a better option for this. I recommend asking over at the Create Record Release Facebook group if you need more support with this.
What if you start with audio recording like the ever present GCD progression... and want to add a loop or two?? I'm somewhat confused... my ability to figure out what chords based on ear is fair at best...
Yeah it can get confusing for sure. Basically just start with your root chord and then go up or down however many semitones you need to reach the other chords.
Cool video Pete, do you know if it's possible to import non apple loops and packs into Garageband? Seen lots of 3rd party stuff but heard about some comparability issues. Cheers 👍
Hey there. Yes you can import any compatible sound files, which is any WAV, AIF, MP3 or M4A that is 24-bit or less. You can also convert files that are 32-bit using something like this / ruclips.net/video/QJTu4Fcj_xg/видео.html You can however only import one file at a time which is quite a limitation - ruclips.net/video/PBTz8J5LxeA/видео.html
Yay! Excellent video on several fronts...recording, theory and creativity all in one ☝️ I mostly figured this stuff out but .....OOPS (!?!) I thought MIDI loops could be transposed to any key major or minor (6:40)? #DONTFEARLOOPS
Hello, I would like to use Garageband on my Iphone instead of a looper pedal and an amp (I play with a classical guitare, so I don't need all that staff!) ; I saw on RUclips (ruclips.net/video/gtDK0TI-Wss/видео.html) that the Airstep pedal could be a solution. Could you please tell me what you think about using Garageband as a pedal looper ?
Not really my area of expertise sorry. Maybe ask over at the Create Record Release Facebook group at createrecordreleaae.com, or the Discord group here - studiolivetoday.com/discord.

Well done, Pete. Always pick up something from your videos or at least a reminder. Thanks!
Nice one my friend. Thanks for the kind words.

Haha! Yup, it’s easy to get something together in GarageBand but harder to sprinkle in that bit of “you” that makes it unique.
@@PeteJohnsMusic Definitely!
Great video as usual🔥🔥
Cheers. 👍😎
You are the Jedi Master of music! Much I have learned, Music Jedi Master!
Thanks my friend. Appreciate your support.
Fun vid Pete, mahalo from Hawaii.

How do you want to change it? You can slice it up, reverse it etc and use au plugins to change other things like pitch.
Yeah it can be done by chopping up loops but actually changing notes can be challenging. I cover this a bit here - ruclips.net/video/1oUaX81ATlY/видео.html
but can I use apple loops for my commercial project without changing the note or is it always better to change the note?

Excellent , Pete, thank you!...
Thanks to you for your support.
Hi Pete, can you insert IK Multimidia Mix Box CS on this set up to adjust the added sound? Thanks/
Yup. This video will show you how. ruclips.net/video/naV2nqHCP9Y/видео.html

hi Pete, I learn a lot from your lessons ! I have a question, I can’t find the Anton drummer loops, nor to download?
Weird? Can’t remember which pack their in but should be there if you download everything? Http://studiolivetoday.com/garageband
@@PeteJohnsMusic ok I’ve found it ! may I ask which you do prefer either GB or Bandlab and why ?

Yeah. Alas it's a "dumb" transposition and just moves all the notes a number of semitones. A true key conversion from major to minor would be cool.
@@PeteJohnsMusic That’s a video 🤩!
Hi Pete - is it possible to chat with you via e-mail?
Id like to know that answer as well
Pete has a patreon, probably the best way to reach out to him 😉
All the ways to get in touch are in the description. And yes, Patreon is your best bet for more direct access. patreon.com/petejohns
