I hope you like jazz
Makes me think of food, every day at dinner it's Jazz time😅
Niiice ;-)
I am going. @@alan-sk7ky MI❤😮
Aye we love Jazz matey! Keep on truckin
It's better than some genres, I've always preferred strings over brass
I admire your dad’s skills! 👍
Your dad could probably make it in the youtube world with his own channel hell he's a fabricator/mechanic with a chevy I would definitely subscribe.
My fave part of that video is your dad fabricating and tapping that part for the outboard. Class. 👌🏻👌🏻
Wow, shoutout to Bluetti. That setup is lit af
You're dad's not a star he's a bloody whole galaxy great guy! Cheers n beers Marty Australia
So your dad is not only a good mechanic but also a pretty decent fabricator too. Just keeps getting better! He is like a secret weapon.
Special dad you have there! He might need his own You Tube channel in the garage. Wildling Handyman
Not only is you boat getting better, but can I also say, you are getting really good at making your own videos single handed... every video is better than the last!! Thank You!!
thanks so much mate
@@WildlingSailing I am English, but have lived in USA for 20 years - been a while since I have been called MATE - I love it 🙂
Where is the wife
@@philipharpin1694 she wasnt his wife and they split a year or so ago. She's back in china.
@@philipharpin1694 you might want to watch a few episodes. They broke up.
Good man Olaf! God bless you 💙
Thank you everybody for your kind words. I can’t claim that helping Mark is truly ultraistic.
As an older guy, we often complain about how the younger generation is without ambition and willingness to put in hard labor to accomplish difficult tasks. And here is Mark, putting in 16 hour days to achieve his dream, and provide us with amazing entertainment at the same time.
His drive and ambition is a true inspiration to myself.
I really just want him to succeed. 😅
greetings.Olaf
Yes the place you’re at isn’t ideal, the sooner you find a better place the better.
On a scale from 1 to 10 your dad is a 150!
Digging the easy Jazz too 🎉
Mark you should fit that electrical system in to a cabinet so it’s not so easy for someone to just lift it while you’re away from the boat.
Thanks dad for the car repairs. Power, food, stove, groceries, 1 engine running. Need composting toilet. Sort out the rudders. Get the second engine running. Continue to build the deck, helm battery and gas storage secured. Progress to fixing the leaks, get bilge pumps going. Store parts, tools, spares, garbage in second canoe. Make the second canoe more water tight.
Thanks Ola. Also now have more tools.
Your dad's Chevrolet Truck is really nice!!! I have a 2004 Chevrolet Truck that has Over 350 thousand miles on it and it's still going!!! A Chevy will last forever!!!
Between your father and the subscribers helping, i think you have a great support team behind you. Keep going!
youre dad is a true engineer , instead of buying a part for the boat motor he made one himself , well done that man .
And I thought Minki was a huge undertaking.....This is gonna be EPIC if you pull this off.
Mark I love watching your channel from struggling through weeds barefoot laden down to super dad and his wonderful backup. I'm not bothered about boat building every week i also enjoy watching you working your way through daily issues.
Mate I hope this boat is all you've dreamed of.
Massive thanks to BLUETTI POWER for that wonderful and so useful electronic package. How did we manage 15 years ago without mobile power wherever you need it.
Shout out to Olauf!
Thanks for helping Mark!
Getting better and better with shooting the episodes by yourself.
Best series on the Tube.
looks like the old alternator died because it had oil all over it, might be a split in the turbo pipe, best fix that or the new one might die.
If you fit your row boat out with one of the outboards you could then find a parking spot much further away and motor to the project or car as needed.
My dad used to get me to do the work while he supervised, that way I really learned....
Very nice of OLaf to drop bye and give ya a hand, that's cool.
We all need that, a father like that, to make us a mechanic. Greetings from España.
Absolutely brillant the way you make time to film when you must be absolutely frazzled
I know you've likely named the boat based on a fish, but in te reo Māori (the Māori language from Aotearoa / New Zealand) "Mahi" means "work", "to work", "to make" etc. Quite fitting really!
Great job Mark, she's coming together.
Your Pops is such a nice guy to help you out as he does.
You were tapping your lower off with a rubber mallet and I couldn't help thinking about We Sail's latest video where Warren was just beating on the lower fins of his engine.
He was hitting it exceptionally harder than you were, with a metal framing hammer. yikes!
🔨😬
He got it off once he realized that there was another bolt.😄
It pays to take your time and look at things thoroughly, the way you do.
🌬🌊⛵
Your Dad is the man! Talented, and great taste in automobiles!! You will get there!😊
PS. That impeller is beyond worn out.
Actually they put new ones in.
@@Chr.U.Cas1622 yeah, I was going to say that. Who can forget the impeller fella?
Your dad is fantastic. My dad is a retired wagon driver and also amazing with engines and also got his own boat Merlin a 27 foot yacht based at Glasson Sailing club
I hope you plan a rebuild of the entire motor mounting system. I saw another Wharram video where the motor mounting system rotated, bringing the motors up, well above the water, and were enclosed so the motors were out of the weather even when not in use.
I think it’s called a jack plate that raises the motor up and down. I think the motor is to high up out of the water, looks like it needs to go down into the water about 5” for the water pump to work better.
I admire what you doing ....love all ur videos. Hard work but it be worth it in the end...its ur home .Ray England 🇬🇧 🏴
Omg you’re dad is so awesome,he’s learned every skill in the book to help you get going in life and move out of his nest he’s a true champion, good onya dad.
I'd think about fashioning a deck crane that is situated to raise and lower the outboards and lift cargo onto the deck. What a game changer that would be.
My opinion, you should be doing the work and having your dad oversee and guide you…..that’s usually the best way to learn
but who would get those satisfying shots of a mechanical stalwart in action?
@@WildlingSailing stalwart...good word
You're so lucky to have such supportive parents, they always seem to be there for you.
Mark,,,So much has gone against you over the last couple of weeks, but you always bounce back 🤗 Every little step is a step closer to your dream🌈⛵️🌈,,,Soo freakin proud,,,Love, as alwYs,,,🌻🌈 Momma👌🌻
You are a very fortunate young man, do not miss the opportunity to learn and retain everything your dad is teaching you. Very few get a chance to an apprenticeship from a craftsman like your dad.
He really does take note & is learning soo much🤗
Your dad should get his own show, with his good nature he would be a hit
PS:Get a MANTLE for your kerosene light. it goes on top of the flame ,glow super bright and completes the combustion.
It is not a add-on it is part of the design.
Really enjoying your new project. It’s also opened my eyes to Wharram boats and what an interesting chap James was! Crikey!
A bucket with a good lid will solve your pop problems. Line it with 2 trash bags and put a layer of cat litter down, then go, cover with litter, then go, then cover with litter.....don't fill more than have way. Lol MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T GET TO HEAVY BECAUSE WELL THAT WILL MAKE A MESS😂🤣😂🤣
If necessary I might be able to help you with a tug boat.
Nice vid this one. Great editing!
Love your mums cameos. 😂
Dad in the workshop fabricating that lever was fab, and the bluetti looks great. I’ve looked at them in the past but not committed, I live in a frequent power cut area, frequently up to 12 hours.
Boats looking great, more home like
I agree I’ve been watching from the start and I’m loving your new adventure. Best thing on RUclips 👌
Olaf. you are such a nice person for helping and on top of that buying food.
Bluetti will be a game changer. I just bought some land and was curious if they could run a 1 hp well pump for short periods of time. The start up surge would be my main concern. The power tools will be a good test of that sort of thing, as well. Cheers from FL, USA!
I have a 1992 Volvo 960 Estate wagon with nearly 300,000. Miles on it. I do all my own mechanical work on it. I bought it from my neighbor for a boat buck 1k, 4 years ago. Best money ever spent. I haul all my sailboat projects around inside of it. Sorry you are having trouble with your car. Bless your Dad for all his help. ⛵ 🇺🇸 S/V Cork ~ Texas
Those early Volvos were built like Abrams tanks - but easy to fix. Sadly, that old saying "They don't build 'em like that any more" is completely true with Volvo.
Amazing hanging out with you and your Family, ❤ wonderful support team ❤️ Rockin Roll
Well done Mark. You have a great fan base, and with the skills your Dad has, this will be an amazing project. Well done.
Dad is an absolute craftsman!
Nice work, brother. Great shots. Great episode. Thanks!
Loving the project Mark! Dad and Olaf are legends.
I can't offer much more than encouragement, you're on the right track.
Mark you would be up the creek without a paddle if it weren't for your dad . He's a legend .
And a shovel.
It's great to see the boating community helping you...and your family too.
Day by day, little by little, your boat life will get better. This is a monumental task, the payoff in the end will be well worth it. Love your videos, stay salty.
Love that editing of dad fixing that handle!
Mark your doing great. Just take your time and get it going
yes kudos to Bluetti, Olaf, tool guy and all the many others that help!!...wow this project is actually going to happen!
Thank you to everyone who is helping this young adventurous man with making his dream come true ... we get payed back with going along on his adventures in his videos to come ... on this old tahitian catamaran ... we old armchair saliors who dream to do what he is going to do is a wonderful thing living those experiences that he will share with us ... thank you ...😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Your dad is an awesome mechanic fixing cars and boat engines.
Massive mission, it’ll be good to get the boat movable .
Good luck
well Mark you have me, waiting in anticipation now..to see the next installments.
It's called determination Mark, you got this, just keep powering through it. And soon it will be all worth it! Love your channel and determination. ❤👍
Dig the 1970s lounge music and your dads greatness! He’s got great feel….
Your dad is a star. The cat is finally taking shape.Keep up the good work. Love your videos.
Keep breaking these cars young man dad must be a busy boy :)
What a unique and wonderful father!
Yes your Dad is great and you are lucky. But he is lucky as well to have a son who is so keen on having that father son relationship. So carry on and between you both you will find a great deal of success.
Soo true Dave👍⛵️👍
Jazz is a great addition. Keep on keeping on.
It's starting to look nice and cozy in there. I'm looking forward to you sailing it.
Dad to the rescue…. Your dad is an amazing guy. Your mom did well to bag him when he was younger.
Haha,,,i certainly did,,,He's simply ACE🤗
I think those outboards need to be a little deeper in the water.
Mark, how you keep your chin up is inspirational. One day at a time and soon you will see small steps forward and improvement. Good luck😊
Dear Mark,
Slowly your boat is getting somewhere and knowing you the boat finally will be seaworthy. Wish you lots of succes with the rest of the refit and look forward to your next vlog
Your Dad is the star of this channel.
You're making progress bud, keep it up! good job.. See ya, nextime. Have a good one.
C'mon, Just admit it. your dad is also living onboard the boat and HE is doing all the work. You just 'watch and learn' and ensure that we can't see him... ;)
lucky to have such a great dad.
Mark, I will be very interested to see how the Bluetti system holds up to a marine environment. I looks and sounds great, but no mention on their website about being suitable for a marine environment, which can rapidly kill electric and electronic systems not designed for it. Good luck and let us know how it fares. Hugh
Hi,Mark. Keep on going!! Persifirance will getting you where you want to be. Love what you do. !!! And by the way I love jazz music 🎷 😊
Again, awesome mark, can't wait for the next steps🔧⚙️⚒️
thank God for dad's like him... plus he looks like he's got himself a mustang @ 3:54
Good episode, thanks Mark looking forward to the next
Oh dear, back to basics again! ALWAYS tie a length of line to heavy items you're shifting from or to a dinghy!!!
Like watching your Dad work on your toys. I also like his toys. I’m currently sitting at a car show n Orange Beach, Al USA with my 57 Chevy Nomad. Way yo go Dad. Enjoying the channel. Tks for sharing.
It’s all about how to go camping in a boat 🛥️ and enjoy it.
Your Dad's a champ. Mine would be giving me the "gee, that really sucks" line and back to whatever.
hey Mark looking good, just a thought why not build a nice central transom with slide in and out for the engine. take a look at the westly 25 from the late 60's early 70's and get an ideal of what im thinking.
Solution to your pooping problem, a simple composting bucket, cheap and easy.
You are coming along nicely there Mark. Good old Dad. Great video.
I want this boat to move soooo badly!!!! 😀
me toooo!
I've got to admit, if I were 30yrs younger I would be over there on the next ferry to give you a hand, Mark. Amazing what you are doing and those Wharrams are SO damn cool. Best wishes from SE28!
PS Kudos to your dad!
Super dad strikes again…..legend 👌
You are getting there. Keep on the good work.
Stay strong Mark, you've got this. Love your dad's taste in American iron.
Hey Mark, do you have a amazon wish list and if you do how to I go about finding it and possibly getting some stuff for you. It's a great way for people to help all over the world. I'm in Canada.
Good that you got some help from Olaf, good name it was my father's too. Can you make a tripod to hold a winch system to save on lifting heavy equipment and avert the chance of you going into the drink for an early bath?
The Dutch are simply the nicest people you can meet!
Youre dad is amazing! What a craftsman.
Always nice to have a handy Dad...and Mum keeping the yard clean.
Keep the dream alive...it does get easier. I spent 3.5 years restoring a 40ft wharram inspired boat in a swamp in Australia..up to 42 degrees celsuis one summer..and every biting insect you could imagine..a far cry from my English background..but the day I launched n sailed away with stay with me forever....good luck to you
Sooo good to hear,,,Bravo to you Peter👍👏👏👏👍
You are blessed to have such a wonderful Dad.
