- A French court recently ordered the seizure of three presidential jets belonging to Nigeria over a contract dispute between the Chinese firm and Ogun state government.
The court ruled that the firm should use Nigeria’s jets at the Paris-Le Bourget and Basel-Mulhouse international airports as “security for its claim of EUR 74,459,221”.

This men in power continuously disgrace this country, they have not for any reason given Nigerians a reason to be proud of its passport, this has over the years made many Nigerians seek dual citizenship or abandon Nigerian citizenship all together.

It would be wise for the FG seizes Ogun state monthly allocation for its worth. The Nation can't assume only the debt of a state.
So shameful
In light of the Ogun State government's default, the Federal government should suspend their allocations. Moreover, the Federal government should take legal action against the French government for the seizure of the presidential jets, which is a clear embarrassment. The French government must be made aware that Nigeria's federal system grants partial autonomy to each tier, especially regarding loan acquisition. Consequently, it is incorrect to penalize the Federal government for a contractual breach incurred by a state government.
Whatever Ogun state sign, Nigeria can still likely be held liable under " Vicarious Liability." And that is the legal route the Chinese Company have taken.
Lastly, Nigeria's disdain to obey Contract Law and the rule of Law has been expose once more.🤔
