@otester First in the gunner seat find you target with the primary sight...then go to the commander press V to lean on the sights...and the C until you find the sight of the rangefinder that has two Idols of the target....Scroll the distance until both images match with the target...There you have it you distance to the target...Don't forget to press T so you can give the distance you find to the FCS....Or just simly when your on the gunner seat press Ctrl and click on your target..Autodistane:P
SABOW is a great tank sim AND a great strategy game because of this it has a steep learning curve, so it's not for everybody. But once you are into it, it is simply awesome.

The same thing happened to you - I also have LOTS of strat. games and they NEVER crash. Interesting thing! - They ALWAYS crash when I actually GO INTO the tank and start operating it. When I stay on the maps - everything stays alright. Have You done anything to "straight it out"?
Yeah. That's because they had to do so much research to get everything right! That game can be used to train crew members by putting them into live fire situations and scenarios without actually putting them in harms way.
Being a tank nut I'm going to get this game. Though I only see on the Iranian side the British supplied Chieftain tank and American M60A01 tank and on the Iraqi side just the T62 tank. There where way more tank types in the war these where just some of the main ones used by both sides. Other tanks from memory are on the Iranian side they had also supplied American M47tank, Russia T54/55, Chinese Type 59/69 tanks. The Iraqi army had later Russian T72M1 the most feared tank of the war also older Russian T54/55 and also Chinese Type 59/69 tanks.
There are T-55s in the game, but I agree I dislike the "factionalizing" of both sides where the Iranians only have American/Nato vehicles while the Iraqis are Russian-only (although this was largely historical and authentic for the Iraqis who almost only utilized eastern tanks and vehicles, it was not for the Iranians, they also used alot of Russian equipment) They made this a T-62/M60 centric simulator with many other unplayable vehicles for both sides (M-113, BMP-1, BTR-50, T-54/55, Cheiftain, etc) and I'm just glad to have just that, it's a very fun game but I'm very disappointed at the decision not to include the T-72, that would've made this game much more famous.
Anyone knows how the rangefinder on the t-62 works? The M60A1 rangefinder is easy and at long ranges is much more better than the t-62...still i need to know how to find the range from the t-62 instead of quessing!
by far the best Tank simulator as far as graphics and the simulation of tank battles. Controls take some getting used to but more accessible than titles like SBPE. I think the previous title Steel Fury is the best tank sim made.

i know i didn't like Graviteam, asked for a Refund, I'd hope this Tank Sim will be better, cuz i Like tanks. All these videos are years olds, which tells me not many plays it there no updated videos. Looks cool but looks can be deceiving. Can you actually Fire the Tank???? cuz its predecessor all you do is place ur troops, tanks, artillery, and sit and watch, i wanna be able to do some of the firing my self.

You're not exactly going to see tanks that aren't either Russian, or European/USA or copies or modifications of any of these tanks in a cold war setting.
Stop calling this a tank sim people. It's a strategy game not a simulator. You have to manage and organize a whole freakin battlefield before you can do anything. You can't even move from place to place without ordering the rest of your platoon were to go and what to do. That's the main reason that i didn't and will not buy this game. It's so fucking annoying to be able to jump into those wonderful tanks but not being able to have fun. Steel Fury does a much better job as a tank sim.
Incomprehensible icons, excessive complexity for something so easy, no multiplayer, Graviteam guys will not know how to make a good simulator. Someone to copy something of Steel Beasts please ...

at the moment it's only the T-62 and M60A1, but modders are already working on the game, and before long I'm sure more will be available.
