- Steel Armour Blaze of War tank simulation is a game that I have let slip for a while!
Steel Armor: Blaze of War is authentic and dynamic tank simulator. In Steel Armour Blaze of War you must accomplish battles in 4 historical operations on 60 square km of battle area, manage Soviet, Iran, Iraq and Angola sides of the conflict.
Steel Armor: Blaze of War gives player an opportunity to drive battle tanks as driver and engineer, to organize tank attacks as gun layer and manage the crew.
To win the battle one has to own quick reactions, intelligence, good memory, knowledge of technical features of battle machines, ability to coordinate actions of the whole tank crew and ability to find optimal tactics in complex situations.
Available tanks to drive and manage in Steel Armour Blaze of War:
-Soviet T-62 tank developed in 1960 with its real crew of 4: driver-engineer, commanding officer, gun layer and loader. T-62 machine has been used by Soviet army in Afghanistan, by Angolan and Iraq armies.
-American M60A1 battle machine developed in 1962, which has been the main NATO tank until mid-80s and had the crew of 4: commander and gun layer, driver-engineer and loader. The tank has been used by Iranian army during the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-1988. Steel Armour Blaze of War is a great PC game!

Please man, give this game another try. Try the Iran/Iraq campaign( the vanilla and the DLC version). Also you could try Tiger vs T 34 and Steel Fury Kharkov
lol Graviteam's games are never control friendly.
Couple of things to note, the T-62 couldn't neutral turn, and was restricted to a rather out-dated pivot turn, it also didn't use HESH, it used APFSDS for tank to tank engagements, and HEAT-FS for firing at infantry positions/soft skinned vehicles.

Thanks for the info. When I'm in the heat of battle lol, I don't focus too much on vehicle accurate info, I just talk like I'm in my British army world. Which we did have neutral turn and HESH etc. I'm sure there are a million things I say wrong in most my game videos lol, but I'm too busy enjoying playing it than correcting myself ;-) thanks for the heads up though I appreciate it. Nice gameplay, not sure weather I want it yet, due to the price which I guess is reasonable and my enexperience, , if it was a little cheeper and i was crap then i wouldn't mind. the last time I played a tank sim with this was tank platoon 2. but as always, nice vid!
Tank vs tank battle with the T-62 in this simulator is quite easy. Due the flat trajectory of the APFSDS round, you simply pre-set the gunsight to 1600m on the scale marked "BP", and aim for the base of the enemy tank. Any other target is tricky due the lack of rangefinder.
You are using T-62 against M-60. You should take uphill position and utilize your superior firepower and armor against them. Taking a low position like this negates advantages which you have over your enemies. It is something which you should do with T-34-85 and T-55 models.
That's a still WWII gunnery in original T-62... in some later modifications they added LRF and FCS but still, it's not a tank I would want to be inside.
PS. Matsimus, Russians never used HESH (HEP in US), it was always HEF (High Explosive Fragmentation).
As I said to others, I appreciate the corrections. However I'm just talking like I was in British units as that's what I'm used to. I don't focus too much on accurate naming of such things when I'm too busy enjoying playing or focusing on gaming ;-) thanks for the heads up though :)

EVERYTHING... EVERYTHING is unrefined with this game lol except for the gameplay - which admittedly is the most important part!
Really though.... How ballistics work here? Can we add that onto the Steel Beasts wish list? Love how it actually shows impact points on the hull.
Yeah the game has its faults for sure. But oh well. And yeah I love the round marks on the tank! Looks Amazing!

Love this game! I am a shit gunner but just gotta keep practicing. The only problem i really have with this game is the RTS side of it and when you are the commander sometimes your gunner won't shoot even if you give him targets. other than that great game. Wish it had an online coop mode
I so wanted this game to work but found the interface very complicated without any tutorials as such.

Great stuff!
The game does require some learning, but once you get the hang on it, it's very awesome. I find it easyer to just focus on my tank platoon rather then managing all the other troops as well (though it is cool they let you play it as a RTS where you are a unit on the ground as well). I prefer to be the commander and give the orders to ease myself into the game. Now and then taking the gun but I'm getting confused at times with where too shoot. Tutorials wouldn't be a bad thing, the tutorial the game has is a bit lacking. Btw is your game up to date? Cause they did insert a better tutorial then they had before, still not amazing, but better.

I think you have it updated, i saw the new command menu. Don't know why it crashes for you, i haven't had a crash so far. But i don't use the steam version so i have to patch mine manually.
Doesn't even show one of the best parts of this game, after the ending of each mission, there is a screen showing every armored vehicle in the battle. And you can look at shots that bounced off armor, penetrated and did little damage, or all in all killed the vehicle.
I tought I was the only one that liked that
Iran m60a1 dont have gun stabilizer realy hard shoot at target when moving
one tipp: (I dont know if that works played that game not that much in the past)
when you turn the gun stabilisator on the T-62 off it should not lift up the gun anymore after each shot.
so you can see where your shot lands.
with stab on the gun lifts in a reload position of 3.5° up.

Wouldn't it be cool if you as a commander could jump out of your vehicle and just leave your tank behind a hill and get onto that hill with binos just to scout out the area

I wish i could find out what i'm screwing up. I bought SABOW while it was on sale, coming from Arma series and GHPC. And oh boy, i'm struggling. Either the gunsight works completely different than it works in GHPC, or i'm doing something seriously wrong, but i can't land a single hit on target. Not to save my life. Not on moving targets, not stationary targets.
I click on the target, i get the range back, i send a round... aaaand - thanks to the cloud & dust & odd graphics combined, i can't even say where it landed. Therefore i can't correct, therefore i can't hit anything. I tried the gunnery tutorial five times already, and i always eventually ran out of ammo without scoring a single hit. I want to play this so badly, because it has all the things that i like, and that aren't yet implemented in GHPC (some of which will never be), but i just can't get over the learning hump. Does anyone have any general suggestions for me actually learning to land my shots? The gunnery tutorial has M60.

Great game, but I really dislike the interface... the drop-down menus of Steel Beasts are far superior. Also the audio is pretty bad, particularly the engines and sound levels of air strikes.
I wish i owned a tank or better a collection of tanks.

As an ex (1980's) Chieftain crewman Please do not call us tankers!!! the only "Tankies" in the British army were the Royal Tank Regiments, the rest of the Armoured Corps are Cavalry Regiments with history dating back to 1700's
AYNSLEY STOREY who's "us"? who was I referring to??? This is a US tank... they call them tankers. If I was talking about QRL or KRH and so on I would call them cav. Not sure the point you're making.
The point I was making was Royal Armoured Corps regiments (excepting the RTR regiments) hate being called tankers,tankies, we prefer to be called cavalry and as you were engaging Chieftain tanks in your T62
you would have been engaging cavalry regiments. No disrespect meant after all you were driving a T62 and the soviet army did refer their tank soldiers as tankers just like the septics
