You make it seem so easy to put the bellow on the inner lip of the tub. Fought with it for a good while and then realized it was so much easier to take the top, console, door and front off. Was a piece of cake at that point.

I'm trying to take the top console off as well. I'm in the middle of it now. Got the door off now I'm trying to find the latches to remove the console. Any pointers?

Great video ...bought the bellow ...about 6 months ago the washer been leaking ...many times I attempted to take washer apart but, was scared.. I'm a 52 year old female ...was gonna call a repair man to put in . Didn't want to pay ..thought of just getting another washer instead ...today I decided to watch video again and attempt ..if it wouldn't work ..I was just gonna buy a new top load....well it took me a lot longer than 40 minutes ..about two hours...lol... couldn't get the inside rubber to stay in place till ..I watched the video again applied some dish washing liq. ...finally stayed in place ..I successfully repaired it ....if it ever leaks again ..I may be able to do in less than an hour...feeling happy ....watch the whole video ..for tips ...lol

I knew there was a way without taking the whole damn thing apart! Thank you. I think having lady hands made it easier for me to work around the outer tub. I did not need an extension and instead used a stubby... I can see larger hands being an issue here as well so the extension may be needed with that in mind. Outer spring clamp sucks but with persistence the job got done. Thanks again.

Great video. Only took about 25 minutes to do the whole repair after I watched your video. No problems at all. A relative went out and bought a new washer after they were quoted over $400 from a professional to do this repair and I did it for around $50. Thanks!!!

Thanks for the video. Glad I didn't have to take off the front panel as is the other video from brand x. I used a 7mm socket for both the kick panel screws and the tub retaining band. I also found it easy to use a needle noise pliers to pull one end of the spring ring to expand the spring on installation.

Great video. This may seem like a minor point but the step where you secure the wire around the bellow by using your knee to hold it in place was a clutch move.i was pretty much ready to give up trying to put that wire on. Thanks. Tricks of the trade !!!

so i just had to do this again, found that if you are trying to put the seal in from inside the drum then its hard. The easier way is make sure you do it from the "outside" of the seal. If your hand is in the drum then you are doing it wrong (like i did).

Well, I'm waiting for my new bellow to arrive today. So many videos show you to take off the whole front, door, back, top etc. I hope this one works for me. I have the bottom off already. Cleaned all hoses, drains, coin trap, black pump thing and put new door latch on it a few months ago. My Duet washer won't drain and I'm praying this works. I found 3 holes, two large in the bellow. Hope this works. Thanks

The repair went just as expected thanks to your video. It is helpful to have an extra pair of hands. I found it useful to have a mirror since I couldn't see behind the seal without it. We were instructed to buy replacement clamps but we did not need them, and at $40 we will be returning them. The outer clamp is pretty tricky, I don't think we could have done that part with just one person.

I had stuffed too much and separated the seal from the door. Thx to this video, I found out how far to pull the seal out and where the pressure cable went around the outside of the door. Fixed the seal and i no longer smell burning rubber (from the seal too far in and the drum on spin cycle would rub against it). Thx !!

My washer has started leaking. After replacing both hot and cold faucets and using the washer for the first time, it still leaks. It does not make abnormal noises when running. How do I know if it is the bellow that needs to be replaced and not the seal on the motor. This is all very new to me. although I am fairly mechanically inclined. Also I just watched the video and was very impressed with the detail and clarity of the explanation provided along the way. Great job.

This repair was a piece of cake JUST as it was shown. I lifted the front of the washer on a 6in block of wood for easy access, it was tilted back for easy access to the bottom torx screws (you can use a socket too). I had the whole thing apart in 7 minutes! The front spring clamp comes off just as they show. The inside gigantic hose clamp is even visible when you peel the boot back. The clamp can be loosened with either a stubby screw driver or a 1/4 in ratchet or from underneath with an extension on the ratchet. I had a swivel socket, but, you don't need it. When you put the boot back, you just make sure it sits nicely on the lip of the tub. This is where people get stuck and frustrated. A suggestion: use some dish-washing liquid to lube the rubber and slip it on. I didn't have to, it sits very well. If you're fighting with it, you're not going to get it. Make sure you have a small flash light so you can see better. You can slip the boot in past the balance weights without any issues and the clamp slips on afterward just as easy. If you're fighting with it, you're doing it wrong, stop and take a breather. Total time to slip the boot on, check that it was on the lip correctly and clamp it on may have been 15 minutes? Total time with washer back in place was about 30 minutes? I was expecting a bigger challenge!

Great video. I'm curious as to why when removing the clamp, time of 3:55, it's peeled back from the edge. Yet, the screw driver is inserted from the bottom to tighten the clamp.

0:50 I got my own idea: "Your parents may advise you not to do something dangerous. If not, during whatever you're watching, you may see caution icons appear in your mind. Such icons include sharp edges, electrical dangers, (gas &) fire hazards, lifting hazards, water damage, and delicate items. In some cases, germy areas, high heights, suffocation hazards, choking chances, spillage, poisonous chemicals, powerful weapons, and hot or slippery surfaces." That would be something for TV shows.

Thanks for the video giving me confidence to try it myself.
The one issue is that inserting the bellow and tub clamp over the outer lip of the inner tub was quite difficult. If that part could have been explained a bit more clearly -perhaps with diagrams or animations - it would have saved me some stress.
Overall, this video and Amazon together saved me several hundred dollars in parts and labour.

the water in my GE Washer started leaking from the Soak Door. It clearly is slow in draining inflow water in fill cycle, It can't be due to pressure since we didn't do anything that would change the pressure. Niether it is due to a seal near glass. I am assuming it could be a blockage ? How do I troubleshoot it, please help.

My series 2000 had occasionally leaked across the top of bellow. I thought i might be overloading it. Later I found the E5F2 error code. After watching several RUclips videos. I checked and the latch hook was a little loose. I tightened it. Their error code was still there. I hadn’t learned how to erase codes. My instruction manual for this was taped to the inside of the bottom front panel.i had previously called a repairman about replacing the bellows but decided to attempt to repair myself. I saw the filter attached to the pump and recovered years of coins safety pins, etc. Some newer models have a small door to access the pump. I would recommend cleaning out on a regular basis. After I cleaned the filter I determined that I don’t need a bellows, because the leak stopped. The clogged pump filter was limiting the drain pump. Point iS that BELLOW may NOT need to be replaced. Hope this helps someone.

LOL, you guys crack me up, you make it sound SO EASY to get that bellow inner lip onto the inside of tub(Best to take the front door and console OFF instead, yes more screws and time but easier). That IS very hard and when you do get it in the wiring clamp is very tight to place over (due to cement block weights giving very little space. I would not suggest this job to amateurs that's for sure (20 year veteran)

Fix the leak and save yourself a lot of money at the same time. Simply buy some "D" profile flexible door weatherstripping and next squeeze some Instant Gorilla Glue around the edge of the bellow and glue the weatherstripping by following the circular face of the bellow. Probably any instant glue would work. It may not have that "factory" look but who cares. This repair costs under $20, while I was quoted around $150 just for a new bellow part.

Just so we are clear everyone, this is not meant as a permanent solution but a quick fix when you can't wait for your order to arrive. For one, the the flip side does not have drain holes.
The washer I have is 4 years old and I paid 200 new when a local chain was going out of business. I just couldn't justify paying as much as it cost me for the washer to replace a bellow.
