Hey, First of all thanks alot for this amazing heads-up regarding the Priest Certificate. Could you please give us any brief suggestions or detailed steps to follow for this Priest Certificate. As you said no one knows much about it, so what to say exactly or do in order to get it created. I have my appointment scheduled in June. Really thank you so much, you talked about it as no one ever told about this point before.

1. It’s just a paper with a letter head of the temple your priest is related to. I am not sure you can check Aarya samaj temples if they can provide.
2. The content will state that (bride ‘s name)(D/O) with (Groom’s name)(S/O) have been solemnised under hindu rites at (whatever your venue was)
You can mention the priest’s name & his signature.
You may also carry his adhar card’s copy. And then the temple’s stamp.

Hey there can you please guide me a bit ? I recently got married in Denmark and I am a blue card holder ! My wife has her appointment in vfs kolkata so like you mentioned that they asked you to show pictures of the wedding and the number of people involved.. since we had a private wedding but this was all done after the verification from Denmark Family Law. Will the visa officer create an issue on the fact that we got married alone or something?
And in this case the priests also do not provide their personal information like you mentioned in your scenario.

Yes right. After the submission of the documents from our side, it took 15 to 20 days.

and in order to get marriage registered in germany they ask for certified copies of the documents of spouse in india. Where does one get certified copies in India?

Yes. The verify with original documents and require the passport on the same day as well.

Marriage photos(hard copies, which was not mentioned in checklist) was not with me when i went for visa appointment but luckily photos were in my phones and i went to photos/xerox booth(which was in visa center) and took hard copy and submitted . But my process was fast i got my visa date, stamping within 3-4 month. May i applied from mumbai visa office and also applied by my husband' working company so it was fast

You can do it early because the appointments take time, but you should have the document ready on the date of appointment.

2. It's better to carry both.
3. Sorry, not sure of this one.
What is the total processing time right from submission of application?
It's quicker after you and the spouse submit everything, like 1-2 weeks.

If the spouse is a blue card holder, then no. Otherwise yes. It must be mentioned in the check list

Sorry we have no idea about it, we did not hire any consultants. It's a simple process which can be done on your own as well.

Same happened to me but in my case I got mail that priest document and some more marriage photos they need.
One thing birth certificate they asked for translation.

Sorry I don’t have any information about birth certificate. But there are authorities who do translate and its applicable world wide

Yes, if the spouse holds the regular Residence Permit. But if he/she has bluecard/PR then no.

Notary is mandatory or not
If temple stamp is not on the certificate then certificate is valid or not
We cant say, what’s mandatory in these steps. We just did all this so we gave it to you as it is.

Yes it's an indispensable document for family reunion visa and until we provide them the birth certificate, they will not process our visa.
