This song has been stuck in my head since elementary, which is the last time I heard it. I’ve been singing it randomly throughout my life. Didn’t know all the words to the hook. Today, I told my wife about the music teacher that would have us singing this song in school. She was pleasantly surprised, shocked actually. Then she suggested I look it up. Why I never thought to do that, IDK.
I looked it up and my search led me here. When Amy started singing, my eyes immediately filled with tears. I haven’t heard this song in 37 years and as a child I had no clue what it meant. As an adult, I’m overjoyed at the magnificence of God’s power and love. And just as the song says, He’s the same God today as He was back then when this song first escaped my lips. Hallelujah.
Same here just that I'm a 21st century guy😂. I missed this song playing on my sister's radio at dawn when I needed to bath and get ready for basic school. It was until recently that I got to know the lyrics. We've really sung things in Ghana 🇬🇭 😂

I just can't get past the fact that Amy divorced her God ordained only husband. The song is beautiful but may deceive if it leads one to accept the idea that Jesus Christ is down with divorce. He said "What God has joined together let no man put asunder"

I was born with sickle cell disease. When I was 7 years old, I had a stroke and was put into a foster home. This and two other songs, specifically, I remember my daddy put on a mixed tape he made for me, that I loved listening to when I had my pain episodes ❤😢
I have sickle cell disease, too. It is not good to be born with this disease, but thanks to God, I have made it to 38 years old

I was only singing along, and I realized what I said to the people in tough places, "You turned the sea into dry land." It was JUST SO EXCITING to get a postcard from my nephew in Southern California where there is an extensive desalination plant. To my right is a picture of "Your customized home water," reverse osmosis I think. What we're charged with is using a crude filter in California including charcoal. Outside there are walkside gardens with different size gravel. I know from taking neuroleptic medication that the microbes start to work as soon as it's combined with everything else. And I thought the government was going to shut down some of the institutions; such that, WE WOULD HAVE APPLE JUICE, CANTELOUPE, AND YOGURT for breakfast.
This song was out when I became a Believer, my first word in Hebrew, I loved it so then and now 40 years later.

Amys , songs and music have all ways been great over the years from the first time I heard her sing and when it is my time I wont 2 0f her songs played then to finish my road home, she has touched my life more than she will know for a man soon to be 79 years old, thank you Amy
