CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Ben (Seth Rogen) and Pete (Paul Rudd) bond at the couples' double dinner date.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
When a one-night stand that should have stayed that way has unexpected consequences, the reluctant odd couple attempts to transform their tentative relationship into a lasting love in this conception comedy. Twenty-four-year-old entertainment journalist Alison Scott (Katherine Heigl) is on the fast track to the big time, but an alcohol-fueled hookup with responsibility-shirking slacker Ben Stone (Seth Rogen) finds her professional priorities taking a back seat to having a baby. Now, as overgrown kid Ben attempts to assume the responsibilities of fatherhood, he makes the brave decision to stand by Alison. In order to make things work between the pair, however, there's going to have to be some compromise, and when Alison and Ben decide to take a shot at love, they quickly find that building a relationship from scratch isn't nearly as easy as making a baby.

I dunno, I'm a woman and I feel the same as the guys in this show. Pregnancy ruins our bodies, kids steal our time.. The only difference is we don't really have any other way out. We don't stay young forever, and life is too short to be too afraid of change. Gotta embrace that all good things come to an end, but new good things will come to replace them if you can make 'em work.

Depends on the girl. These ladies are a type who look for fights. Only funny to watch in a movie, not to sit next to or start a family with. Neither side embraced the pregnancy from the get go. It's ok to express fears you had in an unplanned pregnancy as long as you never make the child feel they were ever a burden. These guys were honest, hilarious, AND ended up doing the right thing

But it's such a fleeting feeling that you get over real quick and go back to your life.
It's usually a certain type of person that can't get over it and makes a whole mess of their life as a result.
These guys don't seem like that type.

I gotta say, when I first saw this movie I loved it. But looking back and watching this scene I totally get where Katherine Heigl was coming from when she criticized this movie. The two cool, laid back, affable male characters joke about throughout dinner while the female love interests are completely humorless and sour. What woman of that age wouldn’t get a Back To The Future reference? Give me a break. This scene is a really good example of Judd Apatow writing women really poorly.
To be fair, the men in this scene kind of come off immature. So no one is portrayed great.
Thank you, most comments here missing the point, complaining of how she doesn't know about Doc, of course, it's by design, you're supposed to identify with the guys and be annoyed at the women, I'm glad she spoke out, too bad her career was ruined over it, but at least she made her mark.

Her comment was stupid. I think the women in this movie were hilarious but in a more mature way. The guys were hilarious but much more juvenile. The movie is excellent and Katherine read the script before doing it and shouldn't have taken the role if she didn’t like it. But I’m glad she did because she's fantastic in it, and so is Leslie Mann. The writing and acting is really good and laugh out loud funny. No surprise it was a hit.

I owed an '82 DeLorean when this movie came out and my wife and I took it to see this movie at a drive-in, had no idea this scene was in the movie. When this scene came on, I wanted to pop the doors but my wife was too embarassed. True story. Wish I had ignored her and did it anyway, it would have really freaked people out.

A perfect scenario showing what it’s like when women can’t relate to men. And an argument ensues.
This scene is good example when you have someone in an improv scene and they don't know how to handle it. Heigl was clearly not expecting Rogen to bring up Back to the Future, hence her reaction. It ended up in the movie and how everyone thinks she's an idiot for not knowing who Doc Brown is.
What? You believe this scene to be 100% improvised? There was no script?
