2009, my mom and I started as a venomancer and barbarian on the lost city server. She wasn't a fan of PVP so we rerolled on Heavens Tear, which eventually got absorbed into the present day etherblade server. We watched as the game evolved from the Lost Empire, the game dynamic change in Age of Spirits when genies were introduced, the first map expansion when the Tideborn were introduced, and again when the Earthguard were introduced. We eventually got my dad to play as a wizard, my mom started a cleric, i eventually started a cleric, my sister joined as a venomancer, and my little brother as a blademaster. With my mom being bedridden, this was the only way she could connect with the outside world, so for all its peculiarities, Perfect World was her heaven on earth, her way to get away from it all. She would eventually pass into eternity in 2015 at the not so old age of 55, but we were with her, exploring with her the most beautiful world we could experience. And I am uniquely proud, again despite its peculiarities, to have gotten to watch this world grow with her until the end, and I occasionally visit and look back fondly on one of the few things we could do with her as a family. Подумываю скачать дабы просто побегать по миру))
Я так и делаю. Просто бегаю по пв миру, как по старому двору, где когда-то играл с друзьями... Сейчас люди там не общительные от слова совсем. Но те воспоминания ничем не сотрешь...
Играл , когда был маленький, невероятные эмоции игра вызывала , помню играл на тигре , танк который в тигра превращается, помню те эмоции , когда первый скат получил и взлетел. Было чувство настоящего волшебства. Я полетел , я был самый счастливый человек на планете.
This is too nostalgic... I remember when me and my dad used to play this game together back in 2009 and 2010... I was still 6 years old and this was one of my favorite games and first ever MMORPG I have ever played in my lifetime this game will forever have a place in my memories
I remember this was the first MMORPG game that let the characters truly fly in the game world which was truly ground breaking at time. I still remember feeling tremendously amazed while discovering this in the game.

PWI was my 1st truly played mmorpg. I dunno how much time i spent there total. Started with Lost Empire, then came age of spirits and rising tide. Think I quit somewhere after that. Then returned to Genesis. The community was so much fun. Shts and giggles all the time. Yeah, wish i could alter the timeline and make so that PWI launched tomorrow with no memory of playing it [;

As I was progressing in the game, I noticed that it's getting harder and harder to find team for dungeon raids. As I was wandering around Archosaur City, I began to realize that people are getting fewer and fewer each and everyday. A city that was once livelier with players with different levels, equipments, and colors of their waepons, now the city is abandoned. In the World Chat, I often saw people looking for a new owner for their characters. And I was wondering when will my turn come to leave too. And now listening to this music makes me sad. How I wished people didn't leave so I won't leave too. And the game still lives. This music is so nostalgic, full of joy and happiness. But now it has become a memory😢. Thank you for sharing this. Those were the days...
Man .... i left the game like those people did ... and i am truly truly sad to keep hearing that the game has dwindled like that, i used to stay up all night in Dungeons till i fell asleep while fighting a boss with an awesome party, the community was so friendly and the game truly felt like home. I can't express the emotions i get when i hear these classic melodies, reminds me of simpler happier times. Wish we never grew up man.
@@karimmagdi355 the official game still live actually. Just found out a month ago. If you think back there was no anouncement that this game is gonna close right? But unfortunately, the game is not the same like what we used to play back 15 years ago. From what I've heard, there are changes have been made. Drastic changes. Some farming systems have been removed. You gotta pay a lot of money to get a good gears. It has become p2w. The game is free tho, but it won't be easy anymore. Some players won't take you to any dungeons unless you have better gears. They will ask you to show your equipments. If they don't like it, say goodbye to your desire to progress. All in all, you must have a lot of money to play the game. Sad.
well the biggest reason the game started dying was a certain event. before that event the premium currency was generally 1 gold for 90.000/110.000 back and forth but when the event dropped prices skyrocketed to 1 gold = 1million now because there was new cash shop items where you buy boxes to gamble on where you could find insane items in them which was better than most things in the game and ranked armor became easy to get if you were p2w which made this game start dying in droves cause things became way too expensive for normal players. i was one of the top pvpers in my server as a veno back in the day and was a f2p player that got everything myself and with a few friends helping eachother but after the event dropped it was impossible to fight some players with broken gear ect so i tried pvping or playing dungeons a bit more but it started not being the same my gear which was considered pretty good back then was now considered average compared to p2w players since if you put money in the game you now gained 10x out of it compared to before so yea that killed the game for most players. at that time and it was a downfall from there on

@@sowishful well PWI was P2W since I remember. The first time I played it was around 2009 and I was coming back to it every few months until around May 2013. As I remember, it was always said that to be the best like having r9 eq you need to pay tons of money or spend crazy amount of time in the game grinding. But tbh it wasn't a big problem for me and I enjoyed playing just with the things I could achieve without spending money while knowing that a lot of people are a lot better than me. And I finished not because of getting annoyed by this P2W gameplay but more because my life changed and I started prioritizing different things. Anyway nice to have some good memories with this game; enjoy your life, everyone!
@@Nevthox "quit" for same reasons, had to switch focus to more important life stuff. Well, not had but wanted eventually and it turned for better. PWI was my escape form reality. A shytty time back then. Could go for alkohol and other things but stayed with PWI and it kinda saved me honestly. Now I happily jump on from time to time to chill in the morning/ night, roam, do some quests, tho there is almost no one to do them with which kinda saddens me. Maybe one day i'll find someone likeminded and enjoy the game with together again. Till the server closes. ❤

I remember I came back along with so many others during covid and the quarantine. All the servers were pretty much filled to the brim at that point and it was so much fun. I do wonder how many people are left, especially in the Etherblade server (the one I was playing on). Hopefully you'll find some good people to play with 😊

The simple but beautiful graphics with the tranquil music playing in the background made this game a joy to play. It made the hours pass by unnoticed. The nostalgic feeling that the music invokes is like nothing else. It really highlights the power that music has over one's emotional and mental state.
I will never forget this game. My friends were too into runescape to notice the sheer beauty of what perfect world was in it's prime. I generally played alone or with a few friends i'd make through guilds. But farming and stuff was always fun. flying as a elf archer, I would just fly around and listen to the music endlessly once I got tired of questing. The simpler times. I am still looking for the next mmo that can give me this kind of feeling again, the feeling of unbound adventure and awe, 10+ years later. no other mmo captured my heart, like perfect world. Only game that came close to matching the music would be ghost of tsushima OST.

Nice story mate 😊 i remember anticipating its release in 2008 and hoping my pc would handle it. Then couldnt get it to install for over a month. I felt so left behind. But after the struggles and finally launching the game, creating my perfect toon i spawned at the Inn of the eagle and I was amazed instantly. The love continues to this day.

Встал на ската, со скоростью черепахи долетел до этого небесного острова. И тут я понимаю, что это вход в данж. А внутри вроде бы играла именно эта чарующая музыка. И котлы стояли для крафта. Я в тот момент чувствовал, будто нашел что-то нереально крутое, сразу начал в чат своего нубо-клана писать об этом)) К сожалению, больше ни одна игра у меня не вызывала такого гигантского любопытства и чувства, будто я первооткрыватель. К двойному сожалению, даже в ПВ это чувство не было ничем подкреплено, ибо в плане лора и пве игра - пустышка. Всю таинственность и интригу дорисовывало моё детское воображение. А этот волшебный остров в небе - лишь гринд-локация для 95+ эквипа. Как и десятки других атмосферных, но бездушных и бессмысленных локаций. Кто-то скажет, что в этом и смысл ММОРПГ - кач и фарм. Но я этого не знал и наделил игру своим смыслом. Если вы такой же дурачок-аутист, то не возвращайтесь в игру. Вы не найдёте того, чего ищете. Просто сохраните в памяти эти чувства и воспоминания, и будьте благодарны за это волшебство. А музыка в игре охуенная, да.
insane amounts of nostalgia. I know the game was a bit too aggressive with how badly it wanted your money but this game will forever have a place in my heart. I think I've spent the later part of a decade trying to find something to fill the hole this game left for me.

In fact, it never achieved greatness, because I was very young and didn't even know it needed to level up. But it had its own meaning, and that was enough. this game was memorable, i used to play this game at that time in 2011. one of things that i like was when i and other players made party together to join the dungeon, and we used to show off our own character at archosaur city. and we help each other to leveling. this game has so many history in my life😊❤ i do love u PERFECT WORLD
Ahhh... the good ol' days. I remember being probably... 12 years old playing this. I recall playing a blademaster and I don't remember at all how high level I actually achieved but I recall getting these super good axes (GX?) that were OP as fk. Spent a solid amount of $ that I earned on those lol... I also recall making an archer (or whatever class it was called) and capping out at a pretty low level... like 30 or something and used this OP bow and would just world PVP in the zone at 27:37. I think I got into some other games shortly after this and didn't really play much into the PWI expansions but man... I still think about this game every few months. Iconic.

Every time i log in I instantly get hit with memories of what we did each place on the map. But I do enjoy running from place to place doing quests. I still like the fact that PWI if a fairly chill game if one doesnt get into pvp which I never even liked. Im also interested in new dungeons and areas which I never explored.
I remember discovering this game by accidentaly clicking on its add while watching anime, I must have been 15 years old at the time.. I dedicated most of my hardcore gaming years to tis game, I made tons of friends, I was guild leader of 3 of the most amazing factions, and to this day, almost 24 years later I still log in from time to time just for nostalgic sake. This game gave me most of my best friends to date. I will foerever be thankful to this game and all the memories it gave me.

Well, the year was 2009-2010 and I was a Winged One, a priest more specifically and I saw some reports that the City of the Dragon was fascinating, so I flew with my Sacer towards the city of the Dragon, I confess that I tried several times as there were evil beings along the way, the energy Flight time was not enough after all, sometimes you had companions on the same journey that revived you, but traveling along the way with the soundtrack and seeing the landscapes reflected life, how beautiful life is, after all it was a journey. 20:10 Arriving in Dragon City: -Wow!!! What a big city! And seeing much stronger characters, I was fascinated by the players' mounts, the sorceresses' pets, different flights like the barbarians' streak and the humans' swords and the armor, well the armor shone a lot, something I had never seen before, the players were in another level. That for me was an experience that marked me in a certain way and that was 16 years ago!! Anyway, these are memories that we keep for life, since our life is a journey, a flight!! Man .... i left the game like those people did ... and i am truly truly sad to keep hearing that the game has dwindled like that, i used to stay up all night in Dungeons till i fell asleep while fighting a boss with an awesome party, the community was so friendly and the game truly felt like home.

@@karimmagdi355 the official game still live actually. Just found out a month ago. If you think back there was no anouncement that this game is gonna close right? But unfortunately, the game is not the same like what we used to play back 15 years ago. From what I've heard, there are changes have been made. Drastic changes. Some farming systems have been removed. You gotta pay a lot of money to get a good gears. It has become p2w. The game is free tho, but it won't be easy anymore. Some players won't take you to any dungeons unless you have better gears. They will ask you to show your equipments. If they don't like it, say goodbye to your desire to progress. All in all, you must have a lot of money to play the game. Sad.

well the biggest reason the game started dying was a certain event. before that event the premium currency was generally 1 gold for 90.000/110.000 back and forth but when the event dropped prices skyrocketed to 1 gold = 1million now because there was new cash shop items where you buy boxes to gamble on where you could find insane items in them which was better than most things in the game and ranked armor became easy to get if you were p2w which made this game start dying in droves cause things became way too expensive for normal players.
i was one of the top pvpers in my server as a veno back in the day and was a f2p player that got everything myself and with a few friends helping eachother but after the event dropped it was impossible to fight some players with broken gear ect so i tried pvping or playing dungeons a bit more but it started not being the same my gear which was considered pretty good back then was now considered average compared to p2w players since if you put money in the game you now gained 10x out of it compared to before so yea that killed the game for most players. at that time and it was a downfall from there on

@@sowishful well PWI was P2W since I remember. The first time I played it was around 2009 and I was coming back to it every few months until around May 2013. As I remember, it was always said that to be the best like having r9 eq you need to pay tons of money or spend crazy amount of time in the game grinding. But tbh it wasn't a big problem for me and I enjoyed playing just with the things I could achieve without spending money while knowing that a lot of people are a lot better than me. And I finished not because of getting annoyed by this P2W gameplay but more because my life changed and I started prioritizing different things. Anyway nice to have some good memories with this game; enjoy your life, everyone!
@@Nevthox "quit" for same reasons, had to switch focus to more important life stuff. Well, not had but wanted eventually and it turned for better. PWI was my escape form reality. A shytty time back then. Could go for alkohol and other things but stayed with PWI and it kinda saved me honestly. Now I happily jump on from time to time to chill in the morning/ night, roam, do some quests, tho there is almost no one to do them with which kinda saddens me. Maybe one day i'll find someone likeminded and enjoy the game with together again. Till the server closes. ❤

I remember I came back along with so many others during covid and the quarantine. All the servers were pretty much filled to the brim at that point and it was so much fun. I do wonder how many people are left, especially in the Etherblade server (the one I was playing on). Hopefully you'll find some good people to play with 😊

I will never forget this game. My friends were too into runescape to notice the sheer beauty of what perfect world was in it's prime. I generally played alone or with a few friends i'd make through guilds. But farming and stuff was always fun. flying as a elf archer, I would just fly around and listen to the music endlessly once I got tired of questing. The simpler times. I am still looking for the next mmo that can give me this kind of feeling again, the feeling of unbound adventure and awe, 10+ years later. no other mmo captured my heart, like perfect world. Only game that came close to matching the music would be ghost of tsushima OST.

Nice story mate 😊 i remember anticipating its release in 2008 and hoping my pc would handle it. Then couldnt get it to install for over a month. I felt so left behind. But after the struggles and finally launching the game, creating my perfect toon i spawned at the Inn of the eagle and I was amazed instantly. The love continues to this day.

Помню, будучи танком 50 уровня, делал квесты в локации тренога юй-вана. Гляжу - вдалеке в небе летает какой-то остров, да ещё и светится. Встал на ската, со скоростью черепахи долетел до этого небесного острова. И тут я понимаю, что это вход в данж. А внутри вроде бы играла именно эта чарующая музыка. И котлы стояли для крафта. Я в тот момент чувствовал, будто нашел что-то нереально крутое, сразу начал в чат своего нубо-клана писать об этом))
К сожалению, больше ни одна игра у меня не вызывала такого гигантского любопытства и чувства, будто я первооткрыватель.
К двойному сожалению, даже в ПВ это чувство не было ничем подкреплено, ибо в плане лора и пве игра - пустышка. Всю таинственность и интригу дорисовывало моё детское воображение. А этот волшебный остров в небе - лишь гринд-локация для 95+ эквипа. Как и десятки других атмосферных, но бездушных и бессмысленных локаций.
Кто-то скажет, что в этом и смысл ММОРПГ - кач и фарм. Но я этого не знал и наделил игру своим смыслом. Если вы такой же дурачок-аутист, то не возвращайтесь в игру. Вы не найдёте того, чего ищете. Просто сохраните в памяти эти чувства и воспоминания, и будьте благодарны за это волшебство.
А музыка в игре охуенная, да.

In fact, it never achieved greatness, because I was very young and didn't even know it needed to level up. But it had its own meaning, and that was enough.

Ahhh... the good ol' days. I remember being probably... 12 years old playing this. I recall playing a blademaster and I don't remember at all how high level I actually achieved but I recall getting these super good axes (GX?) that were OP as fk. Spent a solid amount of $ that I earned on those lol... I also recall making an archer (or whatever class it was called) and capping out at a pretty low level... like 30 or something and used this OP bow and would just world PVP in the zone at 27:37. I think I got into some other games shortly after this and didn't really play much into the PWI expansions but man... I still think about this game every few months. Iconic.

Every time i log in I instantly get hit with memories of what we did each place on the map. But I do enjoy running from place to place doing quests.
I still like the fact that PWI if a fairly chill game if one doesnt get into pvp which I never even liked. Im also interested in new dungeons and areas which I never explored.

I remember discovering this game by accidentaly clicking on its add while watching anime, I must have been 15 years old at the time.. I dedicated most of my hardcore gaming years to tis game, I made tons of friends, I was guild leader of 3 of the most amazing factions, and to this day, almost 24 years later I still log in from time to time just for nostalgic sake. This game gave me most of my best friends to date. I will foerever be thankful to this game and all the memories it gave me.

I started playing on my teens (maybe fourteen or thirteen or so), and spent years in this game, I had lots of good times and had friends, I had blast and game was pretty lively, and it had beautiful places. MMOs can be great for strenghtening english language skills! I still get nostalgia from the music. I havent talked to my guild members in very long time. I hope they are doing alright wherever they are. (I played mostly on my cleric and loved my tideborn psychic too

I've had many experiences in this game, from private servers to the game's original server. But what marked me was a story that I'll never forget. Well, the year was 2009-2010 and I was a Winged One, a priest more specifically and I saw some reports that the City of the Dragon was fascinating, so I flew with my Sacer towards the city of the Dragon, I confess that I tried several times as there were evil beings along the way, the energy Flight time was not enough after all, sometimes you had companions on the same journey that revived you, but traveling along the way with the soundtrack and seeing the landscapes reflected life, how beautiful life is, after all it was a journey.

And seeing much stronger characters, I was fascinated by the players' mounts, the sorceresses' pets, different flights like the barbarians' streak and the humans' swords and the armor, well the armor shone a lot, something I had never seen before, the players were in another level. That for me was an experience that marked me in a certain way and that was 16 years ago!! Anyway, these are memories that we keep for life, since our life is a journey, a flight!!

Si, lastima que pwi se volvió muy p2w y los server piratas dejaron de ser decentes yo me decepcione de la economía de pwi y luego en el pirata que estaba un día borraron todo y regalaron r9 y la verdad no pude entrar otra vez me moleste mucho a parte los amigos que tenía desaparecieron y los que tenía aún solo me hablaban aparentemente para hacer las diarias y eso me frustró mucho verdaderos amigos que perdí y me quedé con los interesados asi que mejor no tener nada y dejé de jugar no volví a poner un pie en un juego online desde entonces y de eso ya han pasado unos 7 años tal vez no estoy seguro
