    DESCRIPTION
    Welcome to HowFixit! In this video, I'll take you through a step-by-step guide on how to disassemble Toshiba Satellite L650, L650D, L655, L655D laptop, clean its fans, and replace the thermal paste. Our comprehensive tutorial will equip you with the knowledge of fixing laptop overheating issues. From disassembling your laptop to cleaning the fan and heatsink from dust and applying thermal paste, we've got you covered. Say goodbye to overheating and hello to improved performance!
    * Laptop Disassembly Guide:
    Disassembling your laptop may seem daunting, but I'll break it down into easy-to-follow steps. You'll learn how to remove the laptop's casing, locate and clean the heatsink and fans, and access to CPU for thermal paste replacement. By following this guide, you'll gain a deeper understanding of your laptop's internals and how to keep it running smoothly.
    * Fan Cleaning Techniques:
    Dust and debris can accumulate in your laptop's fans and heatsink over time, leading to reduced airflow and increased temperatures. I'll show you effective methods to clean your laptop using an antistatic brush and proper handling techniques. By keeping your cooling system clean, you'll prevent overheating and extend the lifespan of your laptop.
    * Thermal Paste Replacement:
    Thermal paste plays a crucial role in transferring heat from the laptop's CPU and GPU to the heatsink. However, over time, a thermal paste can dry out and lose its effectiveness. I'll guide you through the process of removing the old thermal paste and applying a fresh, high-quality one. This step is vital for optimal heat dissipation and temperature management. Don't let an overheating laptop slow you down! Watch this comprehensive guide and take control of your laptop's temperature. By performing regular fan cleaning and thermal paste replacement, you'll ensure smooth operation, prevent hardware damage, and extend the life of your laptop. Thank you for making this video and keeping it up. My Toshiba has been running almost non stop for 13 years and this video helped me get in to replace the thermal paste and service the fan. I would have never guessed that strip above the keyboard pulled off to reveal hidden screws.

    Thank you so much for this video. I managed to disassemble and clean my late mother's Toshiba Satellite L655 laptop. It was my first time doing this on a laptop. Everything went smoothly. The laptop is now cooling itself perfectly!!

    The second Laptop that i cleaned today (earlier before a lenovo x220).
    But this one was much easier, you have much more space.
    Running smooth again. Now its getting a ssd and it should be good for another few years!

    Дело мастера боится. Отличная работа. Ещё бы реверс добавить для сборки, пусть даже в ускоренном режиме.

    Hi,
    The maximum RAM the C670 can take is actually 16 GB (PC3-10600) & the maximum CPU that is still supported is an i7 2670QM. 😉😎😆
    I've read on forums that maybe an i7 2860QM/2960XM too could fit... 😑
    In fact I've read on 3 Russian sources (websites) that you could squeeze in an i7-2820QM or i7-2860QM CPU on the motherboard. 🤔😲😨😕
    With that the faster DDR3 RAM could be added as well (1600 MHz I mean here). 😇🤗
    AIDA64 software even suggests the HM65 chipset could support an insane amound of 32 GB ! So 2x 16 GB DDR 1600 MHz type. But those cost like a minimum of $240... 🤔😨😳
    Best Regards,

    Thanks for the video! What type of gloves are you wearing & what is the brush type? Is it natural or synthetic? I am trying to gain insights into any necessary precautions & the reasons for them, as I have no prior experience with this except for replacing my laptop screen; I took no precautions at that time except to unplug the computer & remove the battery first. Also, It would be great if you could label those parts you're removing! :)

    You unscrewed the cpu cooler in the wrong way, you gotta do it crosswise otherwise you risk damaging the cpu die..

    I'd replace the CPU on this laptop. It is currently i3 330m. I'd like to put some of the following: i7 640m, i7 620m, i7 740QM, i7 720QM, i5 580m or i5 560m. Does this motherboard support any of the specified processors? Thanks for the answer.

    • @rus4kadtar504
      @rus4kadtar504 9 лет назад

      Skander Kamoun I think it should be just a metal clip holding it. Instead of pushing side wise (the cmos battery) try to stick in a thin object between the clip and battery and between the motherboard and battery. I doubt there would be an actual glue there.
