As a frequent editor on IMFDB, it's always nice to see this info get used! :D Apologies for only catching and fixing the Grendels' proper names today (P-30 and R-31, with a dash; it's a bit pedantic but hey, that's sort of the idea really). Mandatory stylizations aside (and I'm sure the devs hate this too), I'm super impressed with all the weapon models and animations in BO6, Treyarch _really_ upped their game here. I rather like that they blended in similar designs for some things (like the AR-18 and MP5), it lets them do that stylization while still being a kind of grounded and recognizable. :)
I really like the rest of the guns but I wish treyarch had gone with the what if route and created a cetme model L 9mm smg instead of essentially sowing together the model L and the hk94 but given the strict rules around the mp5 design by hk and the gun being probably the most famous 90s weapon I can't blame the devs for wanting something similar Also speaking strickly about the weapon design I think treyarch devs have done a better job of the ergonomics than hk with having a g3/hk53 style foldable charging handle or the mag release being on the left so right handed shooters can reach it more easily or how the stock has a push button on top but I still wish for a full circle front sight protector

The thing with the CETME family is they're of the same lineage as the G3 family, but where the G3 family has a battle rifle, assault rifle, and SMG (G3, HK33, MP5), the CETME family only has the first two. Yeah, the folding charging handle is neat, and infinitely better than the godawful straight tube in MWII. I feel the biggest issue with MWII's MP5 was it ruined the "refined, classy HK" aesthetic, with "cheap", sort of "Sten-like" (as it were) bits like that charging handle and the grey finish. Agreed on the full circle front sight for sure, I wish they'd at least have given us that.

the xmg is actually based off of the Ciener Belt-Fed AR. Eugene Stoner made prototypes the a belt-fed based on the m16 back in the 1950s. But his prototype was built around an AR-10 chambered in .308. hope that was usefull :)

Bottom line is the 727 has the A2 sights while the 723 has the A1 and the one in the game most closely resembles a 723. (Until that one guys channel makes a cursed gun build video and then it just really goes to hell from there 🤣🤣)

Small gripe, but I think the mag follower color for ARs is the wrong color for the time period. Aside from that things look good!
