This song, my vocabulary is not wide enough to describe the vibes and the feeling it gives me. At the same time it is extremely depressing, like just the definition of grey, but awkwardly the melody gives a sense of a false hope, like being stuck in a limbo for an eternity but still somehow believe the strings of light could lift one out of there. It is fascinating...
@@trenta.958 It plays just outside of the wilderness I thought. Like towards the air or mind altar w.e it is and taverly up to around barb village, always thought of it more as the 'Lightness' at the end of the tunnel (wilderness).
Yeah, there's something that stands out from this specific tune's melody imo. I think it could just as well be used in popular music maybe, seeing how versatile it sounds.
Reminds me of my RuneScape girlfriend, we used to do the RuneScape dance around Edgeville. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking back on it. I miss you babe.
*I don't know why but this song came into my head on 23rd Feb 2014. Had this soundtack on loop when I was farming green dragons north of Edgeville. Good ol' days* :D Maybe because I was listening to some old soundtracks of Maplestory and I remembered this soundtrack :)
Please dont forget fam :o Even after the game dies in its time, those that remember it will always keep cherish the memories we've made all those years ago.. and hum a few tunes we used to know too... ;u;
@@nicksalvatore5717 I am back here again. Hope everyone is doing well, all things considered. Was listening to 'Hogwart's March' from Harry Potter and got reminded of this soundtrack. 28th April 2022.
@@JovanaSanchez000 ya that was always exactly how i interpreted the track too as a kid, it sounds hopeful like ur returning from a long journey through the wildy, like "i made it", not 2b gay or anything
Back in the day I would come home from work, mine and make an entire set of iron armor with an iron 2h and walk outside Varrock to pk. I was very bad but it was a blast!! This tune reminds me of those times.
I remember running through the wildy passed the alter to get to clan wars. Decked in my rune chain vest and fucking terrified that a revanant would appear from nowhere and murder my sorry ass. This song still lets me relive that thrill
i remember hearing this for the first time and i didnt know what it was called, so i went to the music playlist and went through every song until i found it lol
I first heard this song back in probably 2008 when I was around 12 walking past the lumber yard on my way to die in the wildy I remember writing my own lyrics to it for some reason and what’s crazy is I tried finding this song on RUclips because it for some reason stuck in my brain when I found it I saw mote plox video in runescape and learned old school was back needless to say I created an account better then any account I’d ever made as a kid in just one week and this song is inevitably the reason I have the account I sometimes play today
its amazing how much we played back in the day but how little progress we actually made lol. Playing in your teens and in your 20s/30s is a complete different experience, but both are great
***** It sounds the same, just with a drum track and more bass. Like all of the new tracks, it's just the old music rehashed far beyond what is necessary to make a good piece. Like most of modern RS, it's overdone, tryhard, extravagant, except where it matters - gimmicky.
Why did they even need to convert the lightness into *darkness* anyway? They didn't even need to change it. If they wanted to make a dark version of this song they could have just made a seperate song and keep both songs. One Lightness and the other Darkness. That would have been a better choice. The lightness version would play where it always plays and the song Darkness could be played in a more deeper area of wildy.
I really miss the old Runescape... the one where there was so much to explore. Everyone was a noob, apart from that one guy you'd see once every few months wearing a partyhat and full dragon. The game is so much easier now, and you can even buy XP, how dumb. The oldschool version has been kinda ruined by the devs too. You can even buy bonds on that one. Such a shame. The lore of this game will stay in my heart forever, and the music is a big part of that. The music fits the medieval setting fantastically. RIP Runescape.
This isn't the version that's in the actual game - it's got a much heavier bass and drum. This is like if they completely turned off the low EQ of the song

3:12 that sounds like hope too
This song was on an ad for OSRS back in 2020
It brought me great great joy in the beginning of my terrible 2020 heroin binge
May the lightness of Saradomin always guards your heart, when all other lights diminish.
Still amazes me how Jagex literally made religions with their own code and beliefs in this game, my favorite is Guthix.

Praise Zamorack. Down with sara and his bunnies and blue capes and whatnot
The melody in this is sick! Always love a tune with a good melody.
Oh just noticed you already been there lel. Lmao you find this music sick? You're weird pal. XDDD
Yes. This music is sick. Your music knowledge must be very basic for you not to be able to appreciate this composition. Ian Taylor is a genius.

I love runescape music always is so relaxing! Thanks for posting this! Anyway everyone on here have a great day! Take care! 😊
I heard that they renamed this song to "Darkness" in RS3.
Terrible choice, the renamer probably doesn't even understand the lore behind all these.
@kyūbon The last stretch of light before entering the wilderness where it turns gloomy, dark and depressing.
@@CoffeeSuccubus Or the first stretch of light you feel when you're returning from Wildy.

a very intelligent sounding tune. somewhat calming.
This song is now called Darkness on rs3 and its basically a well...darker version of Lightness. You should listen to both on top of each other!
a warrior borne in fire traveling the wilderness for the first time in his life, spreading his experience with the worthy
