MISSING LINK is the animation movie by Chris Butler.
PLOT: Tired of living a solitary life in the Pacific Northwest, Mr Link, who is 8 feet tall and covered in fur, recruits fearless explorer Sir Lionel Frost to guide him on a journey to find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along with adventurer Adelina Fortnight, the trio encounters their fair share of peril as they travel to the far reaches of the world. Through it all, they learn that sometimes one can find a family in the places one least expects.

How I wish animators had more recognition than voice actors. They are the real soul of the characters
Looking at ongoing trends, Both need a lot more recognition, respect and payment.
It takes a team to animate. It takes one man to make a voice come alive

Yeah, marketing could've been way better. Only heard of it for a short time and what I did see/hear of it wasn't very interesting.
After this clip, though, I want to see it...
Poor marketing can do damage to a film's box office. As well as releasing it on a weekend when bigger films come out that interest more people.
Luckily for Laika they don't rely on box office money. As the CO of the studio has a dad who owns the Nikey sportswear company
@@CactusCowboyDan Laika could always release films online like on Netflix and Apple TV+. that way, people can check it out without worrying about watching a bigger movie

I don't understand why but for some reason this fight scene feels a LOT slower than most other fight scenes from the last decade, but it totally makes up for it by just how realistic and "heavy" each movement is.
Also the comedy is a big plus ^-^
Well it is stopmotion
It feels like that because the character movements were the purest form of stop motion, without any animatics or guides except for a few tools for the figures themselves. Still looks good though!
@@radio7353 No, Laika has storyartists and animatics. What they need is an editor.
Did I somehow see a different clip than you did? I didn't see anything "realistic" and there was absolutely no comedy at all. But it was very heavy, as it fell flat with a very heavy flop.

I’m just stunned how realistic this is for a STOP MOTION

I mean its stop-motion its not going to be that fast but it is hillarious how long it takes for the punch to connect.
This actually looks good how did I miss this?
Probably over all the news like Notre Dame catching fire, US and Iran threatening each other, and Avengers End game kinda overshadowed every other movie that came out near it.

the more i see this clip, the more i like Mr, Jackman´s voice acting AND the lip sync job Laika did with him.

The wolf in this scene is very beautiful. I’m not even a wolf guy but with that style for the wolf, Laika could make a hit wolf movie.
I always been a fan of stop motion and just wow!!! The animation is so fluid it almost looks like cgi

Although I love the animation, this has got to be one of the slowest bar fights I have ever seen.
Making puppets' actions look like they have weight and impact is hard. And it also has to look smooth. They could have made the action a little faster by maybe skipping every other frame of movement, but then it would look way choppy.
