    Anyone who is dealing with this, don’t do what I did. I couldn’t get the new one in place because the button/plunger was too long. So I went back to the store thinking I had the wrong part. It turns out the plunger/button is adjustable. You just have to push it in with a little force all the way down. Then you can pull it out to the desired length. If you press it all the way in and don’t pull it out any, your brake lights will stay on even if the pedal isn’t pressed. You can either do it that way, or try and push it into place through the metal plate pretty hard until the button goes in. But this was difficult to be able to get enough pressure on it to push the button/plunger in any just to get it in place. So I recommend just pushing it all the way in before you install it and pull it out the desired length, then install it.

    We’re you able to do this without removing the plastic sheet under the steering wheel that covers the pedals? I can’t get the switch off but feel like it would be way easier if I could take that plastic cover off and get it out of the way. I just don’t know how to remove it.

      Yes but it was awkward. I’m a small guy as well. 5/8 155 lbs.

      @@Mr.Nobody423thank you. At about 3:04 in the video you said you took the plastic cover off. We’re there any screws to get that off or is it safe to just pry it off?

    Thanks, even my dumbass could find that dumb box, I just put some tape on it while someone who knows what he's doing fixes it

    I had a new PCM put into my Avenger and ever since then it has not gone into overdrive in my RPMs are going up higher than they should when I'm driving. My engine light finally came on and it says that it was this brake switch and I'm wondering if that can screw up things in the transmission or the way that the car reacts

    • @Mr.Nobody423
      @Mr.Nobody423  4 года назад

      I wouldn’t think that would do it. Check sensors speed input output on transmission

    I wish you would of showed how to put it back on. That's where I'm stuck. You would think it would be as simple as removing it but by old one or new one wont go back on
