    What takes most people 5 minutes takes 90 minutes for me. My home is old so I have to turn off water to the whole house. The tool was the key to success so I'm really glad i watched this video first. It gave me the confidence to try this by myself.

    This video is perfect for when your client needs his brand new sink on a three foot pedestal fixed and doesn't need the water reconnected at the end of the install

  • @Lockemeister
    @Lockemeister 3 года назад +45

    Would have been a better video if you replaced a faucet in a real sink in a real vanity located in AN OLD HOUSE and then taken the faucet screen out and flushed the faucet of manufacturing residue and checked for any connection leaks afterwards. oh btw, plumbers putty is a petroleum based product and will deteriorate any plastic or rubber gasket so it should not be used under the rubber or plastic gasket. I saw in a different video made by someone else that clear silicon can be carefully used around the faucet gasket after the faucet is installed

    When everything goes right 🙁. The shut-off is frozen or doesn’t close completely. Then the shut-off is solidly attached to the nipple with umpteen years of corrosion (a torch or heat gun helps, along with some periodic tapping with a hammer and some penetrating lubricant). Hope the nipple threads are still intact. Plumbing. Not for the faint of heart. Always know where the house shut off is - and where the wrench to turn it is. Love that under-sink wrench!
