Here in the Netherlands all boats that go faster than 20kmh or are longer than 20meters need to be registered and get a license plate number on both sides (painted/stickers to a certain minimum size). If this were to happen here the police could charge them based on the video. This guy definitely needs to be talked to by law enforcement. Or suspended license for a while.

@@stormm787 Ok... if you are so clever, please explain the relevance of him being an embalmer. Oh. You can't? Guess its you who isn't very bright. 'LOL
Probably not an actual licensed captain. You didn't need a captains license to operate a private vessel in Florida. He should be charged by the Coast Guard for recklessly endangering those kids though.

Growing up on the Great Lakes this is absolutely stupid! As a young man we watched as some kids were doing exactly the same thing heading out of a channel into Lake Michigan. One boy fell off the front and sadly he found the propellers and was killed instantly. This guy should be charged!
People should be heavily reprimanded for the children. About the Pardo design, looks innovative. It being tall and shaped to where the water sprays out rather than up and in the boat. Well thought-out design.😎
WOW!😮The poor kid at the bow was technically overboard briefly! He was lucky to have been pulled back aboard rather than run over and very likely injured or killed by the propellor and the Krazy Kaptain couldn’t avoid it at that point! 😢
To be fair - my dad is a great captain & I got to ride on the bow of the boat, but only in flat water going 5 mph with very strict rules. This is just criminal child endangerment
I just wish “captain” and mom had a little common sense and realize how close those kids, especially the one who almost slipped off the front of the boat, came to being seriously injured or worse.
actually the design is from sailing yatchs ..probably not fit for purpose going those these inlets at high speed, but it looks like they held their own ..and very stable

Regarding the hull design, I like the water being sprayed up and away from the boat. Normally I would go for a sexier boat but this one appears to do what we all want and that is to enjoy our boats whenever possible and to be safe.
The first vid. Omg the kid in red trick just about aboit went under the boat. He managed to hand on and haul himself back up.. had an angel looking out for him. Cause the mom and dad sure were not.. criminal.

This is nuts and illegal. I am on the Gulf side in FL and was pulled over and given a warning by the Charlotte County Sheriff for have two adults sitting on the bow of my boat with their feet hanging overboard - I was motoring very slow in a no wake zone in an canal. The Sheriff told that me that in the FL boat handbook is the following language: "The operator would be deemed negligent for operating under the following, excessive speed for the prevailing conditions, operation in exclusion areas, or positioning oneself or passengers on the vessel’s bow while underway in an area not intended to accommodate passengers (bow riding). Bow riding does not include those times during docking, anchoring, or handling sails, when it is otherwise advisable to wear a life jacket on an open bow area." It further states "While underway in a vessel under power, do not ride on the bow, gunwale, transom, or in any position which is obviously dangerous. Riding on or hanging over the bow can interfere with stability and may restrict the operator’s visibility. No operator of a vessel under power shall allow any person to be on a decked-over bow of such vessel while underway unless the bow of the vessel is equipped with a handrail that encompasses the bow, and all persons on the bow are inward of such handrail."
4:20 That doesn’t look like an “expensive repair” per se, just a poorly done or damaged wrap that’s peeling off. tv the very end you can see edges of it fluttering in the wind.
With all the videos from Wavy or others showing negligent or seriously unsafe boats leaving the channel, it would seem that you could place a "boat cop" of any enforcement agency at the right spot and have a conversation with any cap of observed safety issues before heading into the surf. They'd be busy all day. Then no one would be in the position of having charges or loss of life. That cap would never have been able to avoid the kids with his props. I've seen it up close and it's an awful sight.
Favorite Yacht? Nothing goes through a nasty day at Haulover better than the big Ferretti that has been shown on this channel before. That ship owns Haulover.
I'm watching from Fort Myers Florida and am an avid boater. When I was a much younger man back on Long Island, my buddy and I were out on the boat with a couple of fun-loving gals who were riding on the bow rail topless, much the same way on those kids were, except we were going idle speed in a very calm cove. We were approached by a Bay Constable and I proceeded to tell him that we would have the girls put their tops back on. He said that wasn't an issue at all but that it was dangerous for them to be riding on the rail like that, they had to come down, and he just gave me a warning. Even at idle speed, it can be dangerous, it's not legal, and besides the boater safety issue with that guy, he was endangering the safety of minors, which I believe is an arrestable offense.
Kids are not only in danger of falling off to the sea, but spine injury from hitting their butts on the deck is also super real. I loved riding the bow of dads boat too, but after one bad landing i figured its not worth risking spinal injury
I grew up in Florida, west coast Clearwater and Naples. Calm waters compared to this. I really enjoy your videos from Pennsylvania where I live now at 75 years and feeling good. Never in my entire life have I seen someone so careless with children. That location is no place for kids, sitting on the bow that way is terrible, and no life jackets breaks my heart. If you can afford a boat like that, you can afford life jackets. I hope the Captain is fined. My Dad would call that sheeet for brains.
That first one...holy shit. That front kid was about six inches away from his last ride. Damn right that captain should get in trouble for allowing that. I swear people just seem to throw their brains out the window on a boat.
Even my parents, who let us do plenty that have people today shrieking in horror, didn't let us do this. However I will say that when we went sailing in the bay and were under way under sail with no motor in the water, we'd sometimes sneak over to the low side and hang our legs off. They always caught us though because it caused a ton of drag, and screamed at us pretty good. We also always had to wear life jackets even though we'd all learned to swim in the bay and Gulf of Mexico practically before we could walk. This was also in the 80s.
There appears to be a lack of water safety laws in Florida and a lack of boat operation training, I frequently see boats in dangerous choppy seas that they are not designed for, operated by incompetent drivers, overloaded with far to many passengers, in conditions where all persons should be wearing a life jacket and especially children. I think the trend to open bow boats is generally not suited to ocean travel. Definately passengers should not be in the bow under these conditions. Owners and drivers in Australia can be liable under "Loco Parentis" legislation, Where the engine driver is responsible for every soul on board. Fine bad drivers, cancer their licence to drive, seize or confiscate the transport if necessary.
Unbelievable. I can't imagine how the "captain" thought for even a moment that was a good idea. Scary to watch, knowing what would likely happen if any of those kids fell overboard from the bow.
