@@hahahihi9252 all i know is that he is korean. but he had lived in the US for a good chunk of his life with his family, hence why he is good at english. and then moved back to KOrea where he pursued music and so it feels like Korean is a second language for him. I'm not sure what his nationality is (it might be american) but ethnically he is Korean
Apparently that's the reason that people say: "I'm a boy, I can't multitask" I can speak fluently in 2 languages, But I cannot mix the two in a conversation.

It's kinda frustrating but it is what it is. and i'm the same, i need to focus on the language i'm speaking or using or else i'm going to have a mess in my brain where i confuse the two languages.

Ever since i learned English i cannot for the life of me speak correctly in my first language, I'm so awkward when I talk that people literally tune out xD
Honestly being bilingual heightens my anxiety when I go back to my family’s country I’m scared people will think my accent or vocabulary’s poor and I can’t speak properly so I try and avoid speaking in public whenever possible lol
this is actually so true, like i sound fluent and italian when i speak italian but my vocabulary consists of 0.5 words when i try speak it but i can understand it usually without getting confused

as a korean speaker living in america, i sometimes tend to speak english in a korean accent or vice versa. one second im talking in korean but then the next i have to “reshape my mouth” so i can speak in english lol

Being Bilingual is great!!!! I'm a Korean American living in Dallas, TX who was taught how to read, write, and speak Korean from my Parents growing up, so my Korean is pretty fluent. With this said I own a gun range (yes an actual gun range where I teach people who to shot a real gun, along with the proper skills), and the amount of Korean people that come to my gun range is way to many to count on my fingers and toes put together. Ever since Korean's living in Dallas found out there is a gun range where a Korean American owns it, everyone has been coming. I wouldn't have this much business if I didn't know how to speak Korean.
That’s exactly why I stopped trying to learn Spanish when I was little. Everyone would always make fun of me either saying the incorrect word or saying it incorrectly. It was also really hard for me to pick it up. So then, when I got made fun when I did try to speak it made feel super insecure and not want to speak it again. Now I get sh*t on for not being able to speak Spanish. I can’t win. I only understand some Spanish ab say basic words. I’m trying to learn it again after coming back from Mexico. I always went with my sister who knew Spanish, so it was my first trip without her. Not being able to express myself with my family sucked so I’m trying to pick it up again.
Im bilingual and i had to translate everything for a band i went to see cos they can’t understand Czech and they are an English band. The stress i was under cos i had to constantly switch between the two AND talk to a band that i just went to their concert i was sooo anxious 😂 even tho the band wasn’t well known i was pushing myself to not run out of there from embarrassment 😭
Pretty sure in East Asia countries, especially South Korea where how well you do in school shows your worth in some ways, it's normal for people to get their IQ tested. I don't know for sure but from what I've seen it seems to be commons for them to know their IQ
Idk North America (mostly the US actually) seem kinda obsessed with it so I guess it's normal for ppl from there to know their IQ but here in France we only have it tested if we need to prove something bc some issues were reported at school (like I had mine tested bc my kindergarten teachers thought I had an attention disorder bc I used to ignore the exercises they gave in class). Or if your parents think you're a genius and want a piece of paper to prove it (which is hella weird). Either way nobody ever asks what your IQ is cause nobody cares (I could speak for hours about how terribly inconsistent that test is and how little the score actually means)
I think in spanglish (spanish/English) which is problematic when writing essays cause I confuse words and sentences structure, and also in oral presentations if I get really nervous I can only think in English and I'm in Ecuador

I can relate to that. I grew up speaking korean with my parents in the States so I have good pronunciation but lack the vocabulary. Whenever I visit korea, it can get weird sometimes when ppl think I'm just dumb for not understanding when I sound like a native Korean

Being a 2nd gen fan, one thing I am really liking about newer groups is how the foreign members are acknowledging and expressing their dual, bilingual cultures so freely. I get that it is a business move, now that kpop has more international fans. But it's still nice to see that they arent forced to RIP their identities apart and adopt a demure persona to be liked by Korean audiences.

for me the hardest thins of being bilingual is that sometimes theres a word that explain perfectly what youre trying to say but its not of the language youre talking at the moment. Happens more often in my native language. I feel like english have some good words, especially in modern topics

I've been deliberating between becoming a Day6 fan or not. I already follow all the NCT subunits and it's kind of a lot! And then I heard Jae say "Eyes in English".... He lived in my home state of CA, speaks perfect English, AND he was born in 1992 like I was! I will totally support Day6, just for him
