Hope you enjoyed the video :)) My personal favorite is still SEUS. Just something about the way it looks, it’s still incredible. Which fps killing shader is your favorite?? ⬇️ Also shoutout to @luffimusic (the last two songs in this video). The Minecraft soundtrack covers that they produce are absolutely incredible! Definitely recommend checking them out :)
I love complimentary, but after seeming the “true darkness” of kappa pt I might be switching here soon, for some reason to me it looks like there isn’t “mystery light” in random places, it actually looked like the sun can only shine in places it can actually be seen from, unlike a lot of shaders I use.
@@lgscteam rethinking voxels is the worst of them all simply because its outright broken when moving... And there's nothing you can do to fix it if you want the PT. Its amazing when it works but yeah it has a ton of issues that are easily noticeable. Flickering shadows is the major one, light leak in caves even with the fix on, SSR reflections and more that make it not the best. I just take comp reimagined with euphoria over it now.
This actually a good way for me to know which are actual ray tracing shaders, thank you ! I recently had my very first PC and it has an rtx 3060, which is unbelievably stronger than my laptop used to be, I feel like stepped into another world it feels limitless
Sues is the most realistic (I’d still say it looks the 2nd worst in the video because realism does not always look good), Nostalgia is the most cinematic, kappa has the best darkish visuals (like in the deep dark biome, inside places with little windows, and in the nether)
Yeah, this video does an awesome job of showing the differences between them. I think I'm partial to Nostalgia just because it has the best fog lighting effects, like in that lush cave scene where the cave fog was tinted orange by the glowberries.
Seus is the most balanced one and overall the best imo. If only it can do better for the amethyst and the nether portal though! Meanwhile, Nostalgia seems oversaturated in color, Molly is all good except for the light diffusion, and Kappa is a bit too dark
MollyVX has a lot of potentual. I hope they add sunrays and improve bloom and depht of field it would impove the experience a lot. If they added more of these effects it would look better. I know that one day we're playing MollyVX in our Minecraft survival and share it with tons of people. I see a bright future ahead of MollyVX!
In my opinion -> Seus ptgi sticks closer to a minecraft appearance. Nostalgia goes for a very saturated, dreamy look. Looks good in very nature-esque scenes. Molly goes for a more realistic approach. Works super well in dark environments And kappa is very saturated as well, but more performant. Very pretty overall I think my personal favorite is Nostalgia
I tried out SEUS HRR 3, which is the only one of these that is free to download. It was really neat and actually ran way better than Bedrock RTX on my RX 6650 XT. But I went back to BSL with Vanilla PBR textures which looks nearly as good (minus some SSR shenanigans) and runs at over 100+ fps consistently. However, if I ever just want to play with lights and make a beautiful scene, I'll use SEUS again.
Isn't Bedrock editions raytracing for use with nvidia cards? But yeah for me I think SEUS PTGI is still better in most scenes. Sometimes Notalgia VX and Kappa PT were blown out or too dark.
I have a 4090 and main NostalgiaVX... on a 300+ mod server trust me no matter your GPU minecraft makes anything chug. One thing that helps is playing the game on a server reduces CPU load. IRIS and Sodium saves the game and forces your GPU to work instead of the CPU with shaders.
Which is why I switched over to IRIS and Sodium. They're also better with some mods than Optifine apparently. Ngl, I'd give an arm and a leg for an even better GPU myself though, since I'm playing with a shaderpack called Rethinking Voxels.
My favorite shaders are probably *NostalgiaVX* and *KappaPT* Because they have good ambience and good PBR integration with good color grading The only problem I have with KappaPT is that their SSGI is very noticeable BUT GOOD SHADER IN GENERAL
Test/comparaison videos like this just relax me so much, everything is here, everything is perfectly shown. Everything is so soothing and calm it almost feels like peace itself, I look forward to more videos like this, please keep up the good work!
Isn't embrace pixel PBR pointless with SEUS? The curseforge page says it needs a shader with LabPBR support, I've tried tinkering with some of the options but nothing seems to fix it. I can clearly see a difference when using a shader with LabPBR support.
Turn on “Physically Based Max Roughness” in the surface settings. it’s not as dramatic of an effect as some other shaders but it’s still way different compared to vanilla!
This does such a good job of showing each shader's strengths, and I feel each one has its own use cases. - SEUS PTGI HRR 3 is arguably the most realistic looking of them all. It has lower saturation and warmer tones, which makes it look more rustic. But since it was released back in 1.18, a lot of new blocks look a little off, like sculk sensors. - NostalgiaVX has the most vibrant colors by far, and really leans into the cooler tones like blue and violet. It also has great atmospheric lighting, as seen in the lush cave shot (my favorite scene in the vid by far). But sometimes it feels just a little oversaturated, like the stronghold scene where the lava turned purple. - MollyVX isn't quite as pretty as the other 3, but I honestly think it's the most practical in terms of survival gameplay. Shaded areas aren't completely dark, and it preserves details like sharp lines really well. If they add some saturation to emissive textures, as well as sunrays, I think that would go a long way. Also, the ice is SUPERB. - And last but most certainly not least, KappaPT is also quite realistic like SEUS, but a little more vibrant. Out of all 4 shaders, it has the most light/dark contrast by a longshot. Shadows are really dark, and emissives are really bright. Auto-exposure is gonna be a must-have for using this one. Personal favorite is probably Nostalgia, with Kappa in close second. But all of them are really nice looking in their own ways.
Did you use Optifine or Iris/Oculus to run the shaders? Because Iris runs with Sodium, you can get a much higher performance with shaders than you can with Optifine.

I really like kappa, tose light contrasts are the best

Try voxels reimagined
ooohh I LOVE THAT MUSIC!
would love to see how rethinking voxels would look next to these

Rethinking voxels only looks good with its lighting in caves. Go literally anywhere else and it's dogshit

I think Nostalgia is suitable for storytelling and Kappa is more on realism(?) All of them are so good btw! 👨🍳👌

I love how you display the different shaders, keep up the good work!

dang, reality is looking dull after this video

Glad you liked it! Definitely want to do more of it :)
@@iambeenyt Oh yes please! ^^
Interesting how certain shaders perform drastically different between the scenes. Hard to decide which one is overall better.
Seus Ptgi
Great comparison video, SEUS is the OG but I think I'm leaning Nostalgia or Kappa in these examples. I think I use complimentary on my worlds

Finally found the perfect pbr resource pack for vanilla like rtx! (Embrace pixels) Thanks!
Molly is my favorite, especially in the second half. Very sharp, clear and natural looking (I don't like a lot of saturation).
my favourite was kappa, seus and nostalgia

Did you design them yourself?
I did! I used Mine-imator to create them. the yt channel MrBrose has a great tutorial video on it!
@@iambeenyt Oh, such a useful tool! Thanks for the answer!
I wish all these teams came together and decided to make one super shader, that excels in every aspect.

Do you have a terrain mod in that snow clip?
Kappa would be my goto it seems the best optimization wise
for reference btw ptgi hrr 3 was also made as an optimised, low res + upscaled version of e12/e13, which is why it can compete in fps with kappa
I prefer MollyVX, but I also like NostalgiaVX

Seus Ptgi, Kappa PT, etc... are not Ray Tracing… 😊 are PathTracing but is a similar effect

The way milky handles unnatural light is really attractive to me but I don’t like the other aspects of it
this for java or bedrock?
Where is Continuum 2.1?
you should also comment on performance since the main point of HRR shaders compared to SEUS PTGI is the half render resolution for better fps
Just watching and understanding I never can play with these shaders
😕
You can, just focus on what's important; yourself.
I think the Molly VX looks the most accurate to real life
