To give some background, "De beste zangers" is a Dutch TV program. It is all about Dutch singers performing each other's songs for a whole season. It has a competition element in it. They have to judge each other. Floor Jansen had some medical problems and could not perform for a while. So now she could again, she was really going for it. Besides that, Floor in her young years was a great admirer of Henk Poort. So she was really honored to be in the show and perform with him. The flip in Henk's voice to a metally sound was a tribute from Henk to Floor. She did not expect that (very difficult to do for an opera singer).
Dear singers, is a TV program with famous Dutch singers who take turns singing for each other, who have a meaning for one of the singers who have their turn. This is done in a mostly tropical location in a holiday like mood.
All Floors performances off that show are amazing but there are 2 other that really stand out to me. The first is a song called "Winner", if you do a reaction to that please find the clip that starts with Tim Akkerman explaining why he wrote the song, it will make your reaction way better. The other is Floors version of Lada Gaga's song "Shallow". And don't worry, I am sure Floor could sing the alphabet and it would bring me to tears! lol.
I'm late to the party! Happy belated birthday! I'm with you on the Phantom Of The Opera - but I've been listening to it since the 'first' version with Sarah Brightman & Michael Crawford was released in 1988 (yup, I'm old). But I LOVE that musical! Floor is absolutely stunning - in beauty and in voice!! Henk was the perfect compliment to that (and considering he 'IS' the Phantom in the Dutch production - just wonderful). Fantastic version!!
Hi I just discovered your reaction, I found it SO interesting that this is your first time hearing Floor. Most people are introduced via her performances with Nightwish. She's phenomenal, this was a really big moment for fans of hers in this show, Beste Zangers, and this was the final performance of the season.
Nightwish can't do wrong with either singers version. Crazy thing is it's such an easy song to mess up and they nail it over and over and over. This song will always be my favorite from any Broadway or opera production ever ! Great reaction

You can't go wrong if you delve into the Beste Zangers 2019. It's not a competition, it is a group of singers who sing for each other. One week one of them is on the couch and it there night, and the rest of the cast sing songs either written by, or important to the "couch sitter". If you find the ones with the English translations you get a real feel of the back stories. Floor slays every episode, singing in Dutch, German, Spanish, and English.The rest of the cast are very good as well. Enjoy. ;-)
Great reaction! I love seeing others enjoy Floor's emotional performances. In an interview, she said she's an empath which explains how she "feels" every song she performs and how we all join her on that emotional rollercoaster with each song. You gotta hear and see all her Live performances with Nightwish starting with Wacken 2013, Wembley Arena, Buenos Aires and Tampere saving the "Poet and the Pendulum" and "The Greatest Show on Earth" for at least a dozen or so songs out until you get to know the band members more and why each song is written. Please, more Floor, you haven't even chipped away at her range and stage presence!

Floor was not very well known in her own country because metal is not a very big type of music there. Every episode one singer is in the spotlight and they get interviewed about their life and career and the other singers perform a song that is from their repetoire or has a special meaning to them. The first episode Floor started the show with an opera aria in German singing it for Henk who is an idol for her ever since he played the Phantom. She sang in german, dutch, spanish and english on this show and every time she killed it. Facts about floor She's a classically trained singer and she's a vocal coach she went to a rock academy and studied musical theater and opera she can sing in 8 languages and has been doing this since she was 16 when she joined her first band After Forever they were together 12 years and then disbanded then she had ReVamp for a few years and while in that band she was singing for nightwish and she was singing for them a few months until they made her their permanent singer she's been with them since 2013
Watch ever other performance from her in that show as well, mind blowing. This was actually the last performance of the 2019 season, each year their last show is a duet, and Henk only agreed to do this on the condition that the next time Nightwish came through the Netherlands he was able to do it again with them on stage. She's total fangirling seeing up there with him.

Great acting chemistry between the singers and top notch singing, of course. As you said, Henk Poort has performed the Eric's role for hundreds of times. And Floor was fangirling him when young. And now they managed to do it together and the rest is history. There are some other Floor's performances on this BZ2019 show, and they are all excellent. And don't you ever forget, that Floor is a singer for a Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Try next the song "Ever dream" from the Wacken 2013 concert. Happy Birthday, and I love the way you did your eyes. You must be a professional makeup artist! I bet all your girlfriends ask you to do theirs! Ha Ha! Two quick points: 1) on the show itself, some people notice it was raining during the song and some don't. The facility was a tent like structure and it started to rain when they were filming, and the roof leaked as they were singing. If you rewatch it you can see the water dripping in the pool in the background. Also, it is said (but I can't prove this) that the "thunder" sound you hear at the very first when the organ starts was REAL thunder, not a sound effect. Amazing then how Floor and Henk were able to keep it together and still sing! Could you do that? 2) I agree with many of the other commenters recommendations (I read them all), but 2 small notes: a) for Floor herself, Beste Zangers is best and "Shallow" is very popular, however b) based on your reaction to the more beautiful parts of "Phantom" and your other comments, I might suggest that the Nightwish performance of "The Poet and the Pendulum -- Official Video" at ruclips.net/video/iEzZRMthhXU/видео.html would be your best bet. It has many beautiful parts where Floor sings in such a high, beautiful, sweet tone that is very emotional, especially in the middle parts (called "The Pacific" in the song). And at 14 minutes long it has more there for you to dig into than some of the Beste Zangers episodes. The version I have recommended includes the lyrics at the bottom, which is important in this particular song. Keep well, and I'll try and check out that second channel !
Beste Zangers is wonderful, their band is awesome too and in such a small intimate setting. Worth watching all of floors songs! Ok, so now you have heard Floor sing. I see you have already reacted to Phantom and Ghost Love Score by Nightwsh with Tarja their Original singer, she is both beautiful and sounds great. I grew up listening to that version of the band and love them. That version of Phantom is brilliant with Marko screaming as the phantom. I do not compare the singers against each other as I love both versions of the band and the singers are both brilliant in their own rights. So now its time to check out Ghost Love Score again. Please watch the version from Wacken 2013 as its the best version (with Floor as vocalist) in many opinions. You would never tell that Floor had only been singing with the band for a few months when this was recorded. If you want to listen to more after that work your way through the whole concert it is so good. Im sure others will guide you through any more Floor / Nightwish tracks as there are quite a few and all are excellent. Take Care and Stay Safe
Everyone of floors performances on this show are world class. You just hit the tip of the iceberg. I would recommend doving deeper and watching her either at the wacken concert with night wish or her solo performances on this show either way she's the best female vocalist on the planet in my opinion

The Valkyrie Goddess of Metal is a Dramatic Soprano but she can sing higher than what a Dramatic Soprano can do. Here she reached a D6 but according to the Charismatic Voice, she can go higher. Check out; The Oh mio babbino caro and the Vilja Lied ( beste zangers ) You pronounced it correctly.

The program is made for Dutch TV. The idea behind the show is that they invite 7 vocalist from different genre's and each episode one of them is at the center of attention. The other vocalist will either perform a song from the artist or sing a song that has a special meaning to them. This clip was from the 8th (last) episode where they all sang duets. Even though Floor Jansen has toured the world several times she was relatively unknown in the Netherlands. That changed radically after this show aired. The woman is ridiculously versatile. She can literally sing any song in any style she likes. The male in this show was a classically trained opera singer who performed the phantom in original Dutch version of the show. Andrew Lloyd Webber considered him one of the best. Floor looked up to him as he was a kind of vocal hero to her since she was a child so she could not pass on the opportunity to perform this song with him. :-) If you to want to look into her pick any song of the show, it really does not matter all them are brilliant. Happy birthday a little late. I'm just glad they finally unblocked the video. I loved her but I didn't care for him. I would love to see her duet with David Draiman of Disturbed, that would be epic. Speaking of Christmas, Vocal Point just released a song last week "Believe (Polar Express medley)" with Rise Up Children's Choir. Peter Hollens also did "Believe" with Vocal Point and One Voice Children's Choir's, which was good, but this one's ever better. A great Nightwish song, if you have about 20 minutes, is "The Greatest Show on Earth". Any live concert version. One Voice Children's Choir's along with BYU (Brigham Young University) and BYU Men's Choir were the "friends" in "Carol of the bells" with Peter Hollens and friends video you watched last Christmas.

So by by now it’s obvious that you have to check Floor in Nightwish. Revisit Ghost Love Score..wacken open air 2013. And from there it will be a feast of hearing her vocal abilities combined with her excellent way of making you feeling your feelings...:) The other songs in the beste zangers will show her ability to sing basically anything she wants. The show is no competition but a celebration of music. Each week there’s one artist in the center of attention and the othe artists will sing a song from that artist of a song that’s important to them. Floor at that point was not wellingen in The Netherlands her homecountry. Metal gets no airplay on radio or television. After the series she hit it big. In the first episodes it’s fun to see the other artists being surprised by her abilities because only Tim Akkerman knew her. She showed that being a metalhead you can be a great and fantastic artist/singer. And there isn’t a single number from Nightwish shown live that she doesn’t Shiite like the Valkyrie Metal Godess she is....have fun!
Honestly the way Marko sings the phantom should be a thing. The baritone singer with no real rasp do not give the tortured menace to the phantom that Marko brings. Floor is great. I like Tarja's performance overall in the official nightwish video.
Floor has no equal, she can sing whatever she wants to sing, all the songs from Nightwish wich there are a lot that wern't whritten for het she owns every song she crushed the original songs piece by piece a great starter for your Nightwish experience because it will be a journey for you that you're gonna love but ill recomend you gohst love score at wacken 2013 official live version and you will blow your mind have fun and thnx for your reaction....goosebumps body chills emotions are called FLOORGASMS and you will get a lot of them exploring Floor in Nightwish

So its a big commitment because its 20 minutes long, but you HAVE to check out Nightwish's song "The Greatest Show On Earth" Live! It's with Floor and imo its their best song! That or The Poet and the Pendulum. But at some point you should check out their middle vocalist, Anette. She's not an opera singer like the other two and I feel like she gets skipped over too often and doesn't get nearly the amount of attention she deserves. Floor is in quality as good as Tarja. Different but awesome in my opinion Floor sounds more haunted than Tarja, but Marco sounds much more creepy than Henk. If you really want to hear Floor sing opera, I have two tracks that might make you cry: 1) Christmas Truce, Sabaton. Sabaton is a power metal band from Sweden that sings about military history. Christmas Truce is about the Christmas Truce in World War I, in 1914 -- and Floor's vocals at the end are beautifully tragic. I'm late to the party! Happy belated birthday! I'm with you on the Phantom Of The Opera - but I've been listening to it since the 'first' version with Sarah Brightman & Michael Crawford was released in 1988 (yup, I'm old). But I LOVE that musical! Floor is absolutely stunning - in beauty and in voice!! Henk was the perfect compliment to that (and considering he 'IS' the Phantom in the Dutch production - just wonderful).

Hi I just discovered your reaction, I found it SO interesting that this is your first time hearing Floor. Most people are introduced via her performances with Nightwish. She's phenomenal, this was a really big moment for fans of hers in this show, Beste Zangers, and this was the final performance of the season.
Nightwish can't do wrong with either singers version. Crazy thing is it's such an easy song to mess up and they nail it over and over and over. This song will always be my favorite from any Broadway or opera production ever ! Great reaction

You can't go wrong if you delve into the Beste Zangers 2019. It's not a competition, it is a group of singers who sing for each other. One week one of them is on the couch and it there night, and the rest of the cast sing songs either written by, or important to the "couch sitter". If you find the ones with the English translations you get a real feel of the back stories. Floor slays every episode, singing in Dutch, German, Spanish, and English.The rest of the cast are very good as well. Enjoy. ;-)
Great reaction! I love seeing others enjoy Floor's emotional performances. In an interview, she said she's an empath which explains how she "feels" every song she performs and how we all join her on that emotional rollercoaster with each song. You gotta hear and see all her Live performances with Nightwish starting with Wacken 2013, Wembley Arena, Buenos Aires and Tampere saving the "Poet and the Pendulum" and "The Greatest Show on Earth" for at least a dozen or so songs out until you get to know the band members more and why each song is written. Please, more Floor, you haven't even chipped away at her range and stage presence!

Since this program Henk Poort has appeared live in concert with Nightwish to do this. Henk is a marvellous singer too and, whoever he sings with, he improves them too.
Thank you for this. Seeing your reaction of joy makes my day. The other people on the couch are all singers from different genres of music. All are dutch and most are well known in the netherlands. Floor was not very well known in her own country because metal is not a very big type of music there. Every episode one singer is in the spotlight and they get interviewed about their life and career and the other singers perform a song that is from their repetoire or has a special meaning to them. The first episode Floor started the show with an opera aria in German singing it for Henk who is an idol for her ever since he played the Phantom. She sang in german, dutch, spanish and english on this show and every time she killed it. She's a classically trained singer and she's a vocal coach she went to a rock academy and studied musical theater and opera she can sing in 8 languages and has been doing this since she was 16 when she joined her first band After Forever they were together 12 years and then disbanded then she had ReVamp for a few years and while in that band she was singing for nightwish and she was singing for them a few months until they made her their permanent singer she's been with them since 2013

This was actually the last performance of the 2019 season, each year their last show is a duet, and Henk only agreed to do this on the condition that the next time Nightwish came through the Netherlands he was able to do it again with them on stage. She's total fangirling seeing up there with him.

Wellwell. Finally we are here. Meet the the best singer in the world: the Dutch singer/songwriter and a vocal coach Floor Jansen. For me this is the Duet of the Century. Great acting chemistry between the singers and top notch singing, of course. As you said, Henk Poort has performed the Eric's role for hundreds of times. And Floor was fangirling him when young. And now they managed to do it together and the rest is history. There are some other Floor's performances on this BZ2019 show, and they are all excellent. And don't you ever forget, that Floor is a singer for a Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Try next the song "Ever dream" from the Wacken 2013 concert. Greetings from Northern Finland! ⛄ And something for the Christmas. You've done some wonderful Voctave reactions, but not the best for the upcoming season: "Voctave feat. Happy Birthday, and I love the way you did your eyes. You must be a professional makeup artist! I bet all your girlfriends ask you to do theirs! Ha Ha! Two quick points: 1) on the show itself, some people notice it was raining during the song and some don't. The facility was a tent like structure and it started to rain when they were filming, and the roof leaked as they were singing. If you rewatch it you can see the water dripping in the pool in the background. Also, it is said (but I can't prove this) that the "thunder" sound you hear at the very first when the organ starts was REAL thunder, not a sound effect. Amazing then how Floor and Henk were able to keep it together and still sing! Could you do that? 2) I agree with many of the other commenters recommendations (I read them all), but 2 small notes: a) for Floor herself, Beste Zangers is best and "Shallow" is very popular, however b) based on your reaction to the more beautiful parts of "Phantom" and your other comments, I might suggest that the Nightwish performance of "The Poet and the Pendulum -- Official Video" at ruclips.net/video/iEzZRMthhXU/видео.html would be your best bet. It has many beautiful parts where Floor sings in such a high, beautiful, sweet tone that is very emotional, especially in the middle parts (called "The Pacific" in the song). And at 14 minutes long it has more there for you to dig into than some of the Beste Zangers episodes. The version I have recommended includes the lyrics at the bottom, which is important in this particular song.

Ok, so now you have heard Floor sing. I see you have already reacted to Phantom and Ghost Love Score by Nightwsh with Tarja their Original singer, she is both beautiful and sounds great. I grew up listening to that version of the band and love them. That version of Phantom is brilliant with Marko screaming as the phantom. I do not compare the singers against each other as I love both versions of the band and the singers are both brilliant in their own rights. So now its time to check out Ghost Love Score again. Please watch the version from Wacken 2013 as its the best version (with Floor as vocalist) in many opinions. You would never tell that Floor had only been singing with the band for a few months when this was recorded. If you want to listen to more after that work your way through the whole concert it is so good. Im sure others will guide you through any more Floor / Nightwish tracks as there are quite a few and all are excellent.

Check out Ghost Love Score Wacken 2013 it’s with Foor she was with the band for 10 months but was not really officially joined the band as a full time member until a few months later. Don’t know your genre of music exactly but If you like Ghost Love Score you will obviously love the 100 or so Nightwish. The program is made for Dutch TV. The idea behind the show is that they invite 7 vocalist from different genre's and each episode one of them is at the center of attention. The other vocalist will either perform a song from the artist or sing a song that has a special meaning to them. This clip was from the 8th (last) episode where they all sang duets. Even though Floor Jansen has toured the world several times she was relatively unknown in the Netherlands. That changed radically after this show aired. The woman is ridiculously versatile. She can literally sing any song in any style she likes. The male in this show was a classically trained opera singer who performed the phantom in original Dutch version of the show. Andrew Lloyd Webber considered him one of the best. Floor looked up to him as he was a kind of vocal hero to her since she was a child so she could not pass on the opportunity to perform this song with him. :-)

They were singing in a tent in Ibiza and it was raining very very hard and the roof was leaking. If you watch again you can see rain falling down in front of the camera. LOL.
Happy birthday a little late. I'm just glad they finally unblocked the video. I loved her but I didn't care for him. I would love to see her duet with David Draiman of Disturbed, that would be epic. Speaking of Christmas, Vocal Point just released a song last week "Believe (Polar Express medley)" with Rise Up Children's Choir. Peter Hollens also did "Believe" with Vocal Point and One Voice Children's Choir's, which was good, but this one's ever better. A great Nightwish song, if you have about 20 minutes, is "The Greatest Show on Earth". Any live concert version. One Voice Children's Choir's along with BYU (Brigham Young University) and BYU Men's Choir were the "friends" in "Carol of the bells" with Peter Hollens and friends video you watched last Christmas.
The Tarja version with Marko is unparalleled, but Floor is the most charismatic and talented woman on the face of the Earth. She's a Valkyrie, she's the Queen of Metal.

So by by now it’s obvious that you have to check Floor in Nightwish. Revisit Ghost Love Score..wacken open air 2013. And from there it will be a feast of hearing her vocal abilities combined with her excellent way of making you feeling your feelings...:)
The other songs in the beste zangers will show her ability to sing basically anything she wants. The show is no competition but a celebration of music. Each week there’s one artist in the center of attention and the othe artists will sing a song from that artist of a song that’s important to them. Floor at that point was not wellingen in The Netherlands her homecountry. Metal gets no airplay on radio or television. After the series she hit it big. In the first episodes it’s fun to see the other artists being surprised by her abilities because only Tim Akkerman knew her. She showed that being a metalhead you can be a great and fantastic artist/singer.
And there isn’t a single number from Nightwish shown live that she doesn’t Shiite like the Valkyrie Metal Godess she is....have fun!

Honestly the way Marko sings the phantom should be a thing. The baritone singer with no real rasp do not give the tortured menace to the phantom that Marko brings. Floor is great. I like Tarja's performance overall in the official nightwish video.

So its a big commitment because its 20 minutes long, but you HAVE to check out Nightwish's song "The Greatest Show On Earth" Live! It's with Floor and imo its their best song! That or The Poet and the Pendulum.
But at some point you should check out their middle vocalist, Anette. She's not an opera singer like the other two and I feel like she gets skipped over too often and doesn't get nearly the amount of attention she deserves. The live studio Version of Planet Hell is probably a good performance to check out!

If you really want to hear Floor sing opera, I have two tracks that might make you cry:
1) Christmas Truce, Sabaton. Sabaton is a power metal band from Sweden that sings about military history. Christmas Truce is about the Christmas Truce in World War I, in 1914 -- and Floor's vocals at the end are beautifully tragic. Other Sabaton songs to check out are both animated story videos: Night Witches (about the all-woman 588th Night Bombing Regiment of the Russian Air Force, World War II), and No Bullets Fly (about how a German BF-109 fighter pilot gave up the Knight's Cross to ensure the survival of an American B-17F Flying Fortress bomber on 20 December 1943).
2) Shoemaker, Nightwish.
