Thanks for sharing guys. I remember when "Itchy Boots" had to ship her motorcycle🏍 in a container around the Darien Gap. On to South America.🌄 Looking forward to more adventures of my favorite French couple 💑traveling around the world in their Land Rover Defender.🚍 Stay safe and have fun. Love your channel. Cheers🥤🥤🧔
Howdy Albatross! The emperor has new clothes! Looks great and very impressed! Thanks for showing us the details of shipping ! Maybe y’all can hike the Darien? 🤠👍🥃
Thanks Stuart! Hahahha and aboutt hiking the Darien ... no thank you! if you ve seen the end of the video.... we show how we are going over... or better say: around ;)
Yes those things are just enormous. this one was German if I am not wrong. I think they ship Roro (roll-on, roll-off) so they just park the truck in a boat. they probably have a way to lock the driving cab from the living space to secure their belongings.
I’m so glad you found the capable Jose to mend your material on the pop top and to do it quickly and at a reasonable price. What a relief. No more mosquitoes inside now we hope! On y va a Colombia!
well that did suprise me getting shipping done so easily bit time consuming but very worth it was suprised to see how the roof tent fabric is deteriorating at the back new bits look nice
Hey David! yes it was super fast and straight forward... we had expected it would take longer. As for the tent to be fair it is 8 years old ... and the past year we used it literally every day. So it was getting really used at the location where we fold it at the back. we quite like the new look of it though ahah
I love the new striped interior! It looks like a major improvement over just a patch job! I'm sure shipping your home is scary, but it looks like you went with a great team and I'm sure you will be "back home" before you know it. I'm looking forward to watching your travel to Colombia. Thank you for taking us along! ❤
Right! It started as a purely practical fix and ended up as a complete change of atmosphere ahhaha. Thanks for being on the journey Steve! Hope you have a good weekend
Nice tent fabric. Have you considered a portable, rechargeable bug zapper for the mosquitos? I have one for my 5th wheel. I hate hearing mosquitos in the middle of the night.
Ooooh never thought about that! Thanks a lot we will look it up. Cause in the region we are fighting much more than mosquitoes…. There are so many bugs type hahaha we did not know it was possible. Always a new surprise in the car
Very interesting/informative video, guys. Now I can rest easy knowing that Albo is safe. Don’t know how I’m going to wait a week for the next instalment! Looks like you’ll be having (or have already had) fun. Safe travels, from Alberta Canada.
Well kiddos Albo is on It’s way 👏👏 the shipping company is very professional and Alejandro is a Máster, enjoy your Sailing to Colombia!! Can’t wait for the next episode ❤ ❤ Love from Baja, Mexico 🐠 🌵
What a great journey! I notice you’ve a half dozen keys etc. on your keychain for your Land Rover. Me, I’d have just the Land Rover key there for daily adventure. Many more than that equals ignition key, more a problem, ignition lock cylinder wear. This can be a real problem going forwards. Just an FYI We love your sharing adventures Best M&K
That is …. Actually a very good point … will call a meeting right now to discuss the matter with my other half located about a meter away ( cannot really be much further away in the car hahaha) Thanks a lot for the support and this extremely good point
I had a similar problem in my little Honda! I was attaching all of my keys to my wallet which added far too much weight. (Thankfully it was a pretty quick fix and I just felt silly afterwards)
Glad things went well with the shipping. The water crossing for you guys looks like it was a pretty fun experience too! Welcome to Colombia and the South American leg of the journey!!!
very good question! We absolutely randomly met a guy one morning who told be he was preparing to relaunch the ferry with his company collaborating with Norwegian partners. That was so random we cannot confirm what he was saying but he mentioned his ambition was to have the ferry working in 2 years...
Wow!. I don't think I took a breath till the end 🤗. It was definitely an exciting event. Wish you guys the best on your upcoming 10-day trip and make it a memorable one. Can't wait to see what you're up to🤔.💞

Wow that van is a tight fit. Hopefully they get it back without dints in the roof. Did it feel brighter inside with the new interior? Stay safe and enjoy!
Yes it was super tight they had to put the tires almost flat! The new inside really changes it all. Obviously it is just a patch but it gives so much light. We always hated a bit the whole black inside. On rainy days it makes the car a bit sad to stay in. Now it is really improved
Hey David! You mean the black things between the windshield and the dash? If that then it is two pockets/container we use to put small things : a pen, a pair of sunglasses.. just to tidy temporarily small things.
That was interesting. I had no idea the Darien Gap was quite so uncrossable. I'm sure Albo would have made it but it would have wrecked his new clothes. You leave us with the mystery of how Nick got out inside the container. Since he reversed in, he did not have the option of getting out the back like Mr Van Guy. Did he climb through the roof?
Hey!!! The total shipment price was around 2000 dollars it is quite pricey for the distance … but that s how it is those days. And actually I don’t know the insurance part of that … sorry. You can contact the Overland embassy in Panamá if you need more details

Welcome to the channel!!!! it is so nice to read you.
