When I take a frozen pizza out of the oven, I immediately drizzle olive oil and sprinkle a bit of dried oregano over the top. The aroma is divine and bumps up a store bought pizza.
You know, I usually keep a Red Baron pizza in my freezer for days when I ruin dinner (lol). I started putting my pizza out on the counter to thaw a little while the oven preheats... it says not not to thaw but LEMME TELL YOU it totally changes the crust. I started sprinkling some packaged bacon crumbles on top with a variety of seasons (including the Kinders red pepper garlic) on just a plain ol' cheese pizza. !!! I'll probably never go back to restaurant pizza.
At 1:32 AMEN I'M NOT LOSING MY MIND!! I just realized there is so much stuff that doesn't come up if searched with one term (the one you'd THINK to use because it's what you're looking for!) but will come up if searched in a more round about way or accidentally, or will show as a replacement option at checkout!! My days of luxuriously using apps to check grocery prices have come to an end to a certain degree. It was a nice break from bouncing store to store while it lasted 😅
Thanks! I was gifted with a Walmart card recently and will do a little online sleuthing before going there, when the weather permits. Also, I wanted to mention your humor in your videos is noted and appreciated. Your trepidation and scary music before opening the junk drawer (we called ours the catch all drawer”) and “I see something delicious” camera view from your cart moving quickly towards the Korean red chili powder made me chuckle.
Those frozen pizza's I normally cut in half when I get home and put them in the freezer. By the time I get home from the store, the frozen pizza's are not as frozen, so they cut easier. When I want some pizza, I take a half out and bake it per directions. I have a pizza stone in my oven, so to make sure the toppings don't slide onto the baking stone, I put the pizza on parchment paper. Helps get a couple of meals out of those frozen pizza's.
Excellent tips and already gave me some much needed advice. I know others can really benefit from the detailed instructions on how to find the "hidden deals." Thank you so much! :-)
Our Walmart added a fruit clearance rack that I'm pretty excited about. I think I will make those pumpkin shakes tonight for our evening snack. I think I would have bought every $1.00 bacon they had and freeze them! Have a great week 😀
I appreciate your sleuthing! I hopped on my Walmart app and put the GV salsa in my cart. I normally buy a jarred brand and stock up when it's on sale. I will definitely look for the 10lb bags of chicken leg quarters. Your tips and tricks for searching online are fantastic!
I used to buy that ground turkey all the time until I started doing grocery pickup. I thought they stopped selling it since it never came up in the search!
Another seasoning that replaces butter since butter is a little bit more expensive an hour days is the garlic butter and sea salt blend seasoning it’s very reasonable and if you put that in your mashed potatoes, it illuminates the need to add additional butter which in a long one will save you Some cost on making homemade mashed potatoes with that being said that seasoning also has sea salt and garlic in it so it makes very good toppings for vegetables and both mashed potatoes and baked potatoes!
You have to be careful with items on clearance shelves. Very often, people will abandon a non-clearance item on a clearance shelf if they find a sale-priced alternative. If it isn't tagged with a clearance price sticker, it's probably not on clearance.
Really great video. Excellent explanation of the intricacies of Walmart's unadvertised discount process! Also the 'pizza toast' between you and your son is adorable. :)
We buy the super cheap cheese pizzas from aldi, then add things like onion, capsicum, spinach and zucchini. If I have more time I will add some salted and drained aubergine, or roasted butternut pumpkin/Japanese pumpkin. Of couse all veggies will come from the sunday markets where they sell off their seconds/rejects.
Love adding on to pizzas. I actually got one of their little $1.25 pizzas with the intent of adding on to it, but I was too pizza'd out to make another one in this video 😂
The gv fish portions aren't that bad you can make fish tacos with..a lot of managers actually discount stuff that low for struggling families and in my area it's greatly appreciated so you probably have a manager like that at your Walmart
I just got 75%off the halloween clearance items at Walmart. I don't buy baking mixes usually. But, I have young teens, and they enjoy making a fun snack on occasion. I got pumpkin spice pancake mix, pumpkin spice bars, pumpkin spice cookies, and themed brownie mixes (multiple packs of each). They were all 55 cents apiece. I can't make stuff like that for that price. I don't normally like Walmart, bc here the clearance isn't great. But, I always check. One time, I found Kerrygold butter for 1.50. So it can happen that a good deal comes around
Thanks for the reviews on the pizza. I bought a cheese take and bake from aldi yesterday ( I was looking at Walmart as well, sometimes they have take and bake pizza on mark down). It’s a very large pizza for $6.15. I cut it into 1/4s and froze them. I live alone and it’s always nice to have a quick pizza option. I normally add add toppings I have on hand to make it better.
@@ArdentMichellesame here Michelle. We've talked before. I'm in nz and your shopping is like Disneyland! Daniel the person above, is in Australia I believe. Similar prices to us!
Hi Michelle, I have never tried the Festive brand but will now look for it. I shop at Walmart but not as much since we moved, I now do the bulk of my shopping at WinCo. But you know, my weakness is Trader Joe's 😉 I loved that you did the Walmart pizza taste test, I usually make my own pizza but like you I do like fast convenient foods on hand. I do have Costco frozen cheese pizza that I use for a base and then add whatever toppings we like to make our own favorites. I'm going to look for that Great Value salsa too, now I know where to look. Have a great week. Charlotte
Hi Charlotte 😁 Glad you found a couple items you want to try from this video. That's funny that you mention about the base, because I also picked up one of their $1.23 pizzas that I thought I would use for a base to add on to, but I was too pizza'd out to include in this video. 😂 Love the idea of customizing them. Hope you have a great week too.
The only tools I've used in the past to find bargains were looking along the bottom shelf of grocery isles where items are usually cheaper (eg. for toothpaste), or using reduced pricing apps such as Flash Food. Thank your your research! BTW, it's never occurred to me to use canned pumpkin in a smoothie before. Thank you for the tip!
Looking along the bottom shelf is a great tip 👍 thanks for sharing. As long as you enjoy the taste of pumpkin, I think you would like the smoothie. Next time I want to add in some vanilla.
Another tip! When you're buying something with a yellow clearance tag on it, make sure it rings up clearance! Depending on how well they placed that clearance tag, the scanner might miss the clearance tag and see the regular price instead. They just cut the tag in half and put the price half on the top/front of the item and the bottom half with the barcode over the original, but the clearance barcodes are smaller so it doesn't fit well. You have to be careful and watch all your clearance items to make sure the scanner caught the right one - luckily its a quick easy fix.
I shop at Walmart for groceries most of the time. Michelle your tips are great. I buy many of the Great Value products too. We oriental products in the freezer section. I like the shrimp balls. I buy powdered milk which hasn't gone up in price. Coffee is very reasonable the dark blend and instant coffee. Noticed Walmart is letting go many name brands and replacing the Great Value. Soon that is all you will get. Many thanks for all your wonderful recipies.
I love Winco too. 👍 They are not as close to me though, so I only go there when I'm headed in that direction. The pumpkin pie martini sounds delicious!
Our Walmart often has manager specials with a small sign next to it. I found turkey breast for $0.75 a lb in summer, bar s hotdogs for 2/$1, and many other random deals. I always look for the signs when shopping.
There is a plant called purslane that has an astonishing amount of omega 3s. It's tasty, slightly crunchy with a citrus edge. Some people pickle the stems. The leaves are good on salad. If you have a window sill you can grow it yourself.
@@ArdentMichelle I love regular old peanut butter and I have all my life. It's nice to know that a gourmand like you feels the same way. That's what I meant, and seems a very good description and suits you.)
My son loves the rising crust pizza..heck we get 2 of them which is the cost of 1 Little Carsar pizza which is not $5 anymore ..like u said an option for when u don't want to cook 😂
I remember when I used to get the Little Ceasars pizza with sesame crust. It was so good, but then years later I ordered from them and they didn't have it anymore 😞 Sometimes I add it on myself, but it's such a bummer they stopped selling it.
Those Great Value rising crust pizzas is really good. We add a few extra toping and cook it. Even my picky grandkids like them! They are $3.98 at our Walmart.
We get more nutrient dense organic grass fed beef for about 5.00 per lb. Its more than the other kind but it is a good deal for such nutritious quality beef and can just use less. It is so lean a lb of it usually ends up being a whole lb of meat once cooked
1.69 for pizza dough ball at Aldi last week. It made the best pizza! I found it lighter than my homemade dough. First time trying it. Will be buying more and freezing it. 30 oz cans of classic roast coffee were 5.15 ..it has been 8.47 each!
Chicken gizzards are another bargain (about $1 a pound) my grandmother used to make them with gravy over rice back in the 70s. I use them in my dog food recipe. I’m not sure how to prepare them the way my grandma did. (She would “clean” them somehow, so I’m scared to make them.)
What an awesome video! I learned a lot. I tried the tomato salsa for the first time tonight from your recommendation and loved it. Thanks again for your excellent videos.
Thanks for this very informative video, AM! I'm especially happy to know that the Jiffy mix is now on sale, since I'll be at Walmart in a few days. Have a great week!
Good to relax before going to bed watching your video. ❤ I might try the pumpkin shake. I find in store bargains that aren’t advertised and always check the clearance areas.
I used to mix ground beef and ground turkey before I froze it. I think I am going to find some festive turkey and start doing that again. I really like like those hind quarters of chicken myself, but we usually only go to Walmart once a month. I heard bananas are always cheapest at Walmart.
Oh you are GOOD.. I knew of the yellow sales but never in the freezer :O tyty do you do any dumpster diving I am tring to learn more on that also walmarts are all locked up.Aldis is good...
My guess is the lowest priced items are hard to find on the online shopping due to their substitution rule where they substitute an equal or higher value like item if the item you selected was not available.
I'm surprised that ground beef was as expensive as it was. On the package it says 73% lean, which is pretty poor quality. Most grocery stores sell 80% at around $4/lb.
Wow, thanks for tips at Walmart! They do hide items and I miss the best bargains sometimes. I will look for that turkey and ground beef since it never has come into my search. I will also look for the tomato sauce too. The value bag of chicken is fantastic and I buy it frequently. I use a great value pizza crust that I buy for .82 cents; mix with water. I put in it in a 9-10" pie pan & it makes a thicker crust. I buy the great value pizza sauce-embellish it or I make my own. I love making my own pizza with pepperoni, onions, peppers, mushrooms or whatever I want to put on it! P.S. I recently discovered lavash bread at Trader Joes and its great for wraps. Well, thanks for all you do!
Michelle, it is always easier to do shopping or searching on a computer than on a phone app; there is less available on apps, however, the scanner on the phone apps are invaluable when searching for bargains and mark-downs. Festive ground turkey rolls have been a major buy of mine. Their sausage tastes just like pork sausage. It's a staple in part of our family as they have people who stay away from red meat, and so they use it for tacos and spaghetti sauce. Our Walmart has jumped in price in almost everything, and we have more expensive eggs,(it is crazy that Sam's is more expensive), and the chicken leg quarters are also lower there. One Walmart deal is their 2 lb.bag Great Value Quinoa. Our Kroger has been having great sales, and I take advantage of every one. I agree with your son about how much to cook a pizza! I love oatmilk to make oatmeal. I have been very tied up, but am subscribed and have your videos I have yet to see saved.
We have found that Trader Joe's has the very best prices for eggs They went up a little but not as much as other stores and have come back down. Sliced cheese and milk too
Thank you for this video…it confirmed my suspicions with shopping for groceries online with Walmarts app on my iPad ( perhaps I should really learn how to use my new Apple laptop that still sits in its box🤣). I really dislike going into Walmart in person to grocery shop but I realize I should do this now and then to not only see new items but to price check…I think the app really only pushes higher priced products unless you know specific names of products. Also..I don’t understand what “sponsored “ items mean on Walmart and Amazon sites…can someone explain to me?
You're welcome 😁 Sponsored is when the manufacturer buys space in order to promote their product to consumers. It happens all over- Walmart, Yelp, Google Search, etc.
Their large rolls of 5lbs of ground beef is a way better deal than those small rolls. It’s $17. About $3.20 a lb. I know not everyone has the freezer space but I refused to buy those small rolls unless I can find them less than $3.
I used to get really great clearance food deals on walmart's website but I think they stopped putting those online. You did inspire me to do some poking around. I stumbled into a bunch of travel sized different sauces (some of the kinders sauces too) and some spicy ketchups and things in little bottles for $1. Definitely put a bunch in my cart to try!
@@ArdentMichelle I think I just searched for foods under $1 and they were at the tail end. They didn't show up when I sorted by price.. they were on the very last page. They had several different barbecue sauces, small bottles of chipotle ketchup, habanero ketchup, a bottle of "pizza sauce" by Melindas, a green one from Melindas that I'm also drawing a blank on... and some of the Kinders wing sauces as well as hot honey, teriyaki (which I'm really excited to try because I knew I'd never use the whole bottle), garlic parm wing sauce (which I think I might try as a pizza dipping sauce), and a few others.
I think I upset the walmart search algorithm because I went looking for them now and can't find them. Maybe they're somewhere in the store! I'm waiting on my delivery. I hope they come!
Was the ground beef in a roll all beef? The price was awesome. I enjoyed this video and the information. Thanks You get fantastic deals. I shop at Whole Foods and after 25 years going there I don’t think they have any good deals. The prices are out of this world. It is nuts but I only shop for organic foods. I am still trying to get deals. With just bare necessities. 👍👍
I was just at Whole Foods yesterday. I love to shop for new food items and I love their buffet. It's all crazy expensive but I get lots of inspiration there. 😁 I also feel like it's a great place for anyone with food allergies or special diets to shop at.
I cant understand how Americans and Canadians love peanut butter and pumpkin so much. 🤢😱 Baked pumpkin as a side vegetable and pumpkin soup is just about it in Australia. I dont mind that but not too much of it. Pumpkin spice and pumpkin pie, not the norm here. And peanut butter. YUKKO ! We have it on sandwiches here but it is way down the list. Vegemite is King ! for a savoury flavour. Next comes strawberry jam for the sweet tooth. Peanut butter is common in Australia but we dont flavour cookies, icecream and pretzels etc with it. Can you tell Im not a fan of peanut butter ! Great video though Michelle. Always interesting. Im sure you're helping so many people. 😊
If you like the taste of pumpkin then you should like it, although you may want yours with a little more sweetener than I do. Next time I'll add in vanilla.
Omg no - you NEED to grab the Skippy no sugar added peanut butter It is sooooo good and is mostly the only one I eat anymore After eating it constantly for a few years now when I try a different company like Aldi’s one that contains way too much sugar I feel sickened and disgusted by it It’s sooooo sweet it makes me ill
I might be willing to give it a try because of this comment- however I'm a huge Skippy original peanut butter fan and if it doesn't taste good, I just won't eat it. 😂 Some of the other natural peanut butters I tried just never got eaten.
@@ArdentMichelle I know how you feel - I have tried salt free ones or more “natural nut only” ones and hated a lot of them - but this trust me is amazing
When I search for tomato salsa the canned version does not come up. I have tried it before when you mentioned it. I also looked in one store & could not find it. I wonder if it is available in all states. Also, 73% lean hamburg is not very good. You’re paying for a lot of fat, that will be poured down the sink, so it is not a good deal.
your store might be out. You could try checking online for a nearby city just to see if it's available in your state. I know they sell out frequently but not sure why one store wouldn't carry it. A leaner hamburger it will definitely cost more 💰
Wal-Mart is very sneaky and I don't like it. Unfortunately when you're on a budget, its usually one of the cheapest places to shop. I notice when I use their app on my phone and ask for the lowest price first, all of the items are not included. You have to keep strolling past all of the higher priced items then lower priced items will be listed again I don't understand that at all. Its deceptive.
I love the Fire Roasted Tomato Salsa. The Wal Mart frozen pizzas will sometimes drop to half price. -- Not all varieties...the last time I scored Philly Cheese Steak pizzas.
I went through your videos tthe other day and found some great vegan options! I'm not vegan so it didn't even click in my head that the meals were vegan! We don't eat a lot of meat because it's expensive, or dairy because my son and I have a mild intolerance, but I didn't stop to think that some of your meals that we use are vegan. Ugrh. Brain fart moment indeed.
This is the problem with trying to find recipes in my videos 😂 Working on a place (free for viewers) to put my recipes now. You can google healthy 3 ingredient oatmeal banana cookies and lots of recipes come up. I think my normal ratio is 2 cups whole oats to 1-2 very ripe bananas, plus 1 tsp vanilla and then the last ingredient. For some people it's chocolate chips, but I experimented and my favorite was with dried cranberries and chopped walnuts. But you can have fun with this, and try adding in almost anything, like coconut, raisins, pumpkin seeds, peanut butter, etc. Don't expect it to taste like a dessert cookie, but more like a healthy breakfast cookie. Some people have used quick oats, but I've never tried it. You could also blend up the oats to make it more like a real cookie. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes or until set. I LOVE these, and eat them frequently. Hope this helps 😁
Please do some research, but everything I've been seen on the shelves and I've been reading is that oils now consists of soybean oil and soy is bad for men because it is a natural estrogen. Lard is natural coming from the animals we eat.
Wow this taught me a lot! Thank you so much for making this!
Glad it was helpful! 😁

It's my pleasure 😁 Welcome to my channel 🥳 I'm glad you're here and thanks for subbing!
We get more nutrient dense organic grass fed beef for about 5.00 per lb. Its more than the other kind but it is a good deal for such nutritious quality beef and can just use less. It is so lean a lb of it usually ends up being a whole lb of meat once cooked
Thanks for sharing this 👍
See…. This is why you’re so awesome!!! 🥰😍 So many tips and tricks that I didn’t even know about! 💕💕👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Cathie 😁 Thank you so much. I appreciate the kind words 🥰
Kinders seasonings are wonderful. Buttery burger is my most frequently used seasoning. Almost as much as salt and pepper!
Love trying new ones too!
1.69 for pizza dough ball at Aldi last week. It made the best pizza! I found it lighter than my homemade dough. First time trying it. Will be buying more and freezing it. 30 oz cans of classic roast coffee were 5.15 ..it has been 8.47 each!
thanks for the tip on that dough 👍 been wanting to try that.
Thanks for sharing this information ✔️
My pleasure 😁
Chicken gizzards are another bargain (about $1 a pound) my grandmother used to make them with gravy over rice back in the 70s. I use them in my dog food recipe. I’m not sure how to prepare them the way my grandma did. (She would “clean” them somehow, so I’m scared to make them.)
Great info here 👍
What an awesome video! I learned a lot. I tried the tomato salsa for the first time tonight from your recommendation and loved it. Thanks again for your excellent videos.
oh good! 😁 So glad you like the salsa and that you enjoyed this video 🥰 Thanks for letting me know!
Yes agree on bags of chicken aldi 12 package eggs 1.79
$2.54 at my Aldi
Very informative, excellent tips! Thank you so much!
Welcome 😁
Thanks for this very informative video, AM! I'm especially happy to know that the Jiffy mix is now on sale, since I'll be at Walmart in a few days. Have a great week!
Hi Linda 😁 You're welcome. Hope you're enjoying the holiday season.
Good to relax before going to bed watching your video. ❤ I might try the pumpkin shake. I find in store bargains that aren’t advertised and always check the clearance areas.
Glad you find my videos relaxing 😁
Thank you so very much for all these hints!!!
Glad you like them! 😁
I used to mix ground beef and ground turkey before I froze it. I think I am going to find some festive turkey and start doing that again. I really like like those hind quarters of chicken myself, but we usually only go to Walmart once a month. I heard bananas are always cheapest at Walmart.
Great idea to mix ground beef and turkey. In my area Trader Joes has the cheapest bananas for the regular stores.
Great tips
Glad you like them! 😁
My store is lax on pricing the clearance items. So I use my bar code scanner on the app to get the clearance price.
Great suggestion. I have to try that. I use the scanner at Samsclub, but for some reason haven't used the one at Walmart yet.
Oh you are GOOD.. I knew of the yellow sales but never in the freezer :O tyty do you do any dumpster diving I am tring to learn more on that also walmarts are all locked up.Aldis is good...
Haven't done dumpster diving yet 🤔
Very informative thank you
Very welcome 😁
thanks for another great video
welcome 😁
That was awesome tips. I always look forward to your videos. Thank you.
Glad you like them and that you look forward to my videos! 😁🥰
Great information and super helpful as I am working hard to reduce my grocery budget.
Glad this was useful 😁
very helpful video 😊
Glad you think so! 😁
This was helpful
Thank you 😁
OMG! So many helpful tips!
Glad you think so! 😁
Very helpful
Glad you think so! 😁 Thank you.
My guess is the lowest priced items are hard to find on the online shopping due to their substitution rule where they substitute an equal or higher value like item if the item you selected was not available.
that would make sense. 👍
Walmart turkey in freezer 2.54 buy alot of it
I'm surprised that ground beef was as expensive as it was. On the package it says 73% lean, which is pretty poor quality. Most grocery stores sell 80% at around $4/lb.
It's the least expensive ground beef in the store, but they also sell the 80/20 for $4.77 if someone wants to go that route.

Glad you like this video 😁 That Great Value mix has been on my bucket list for awhile now. I need to try it. Thanks for your suggestions.
I meant to reference the pizza crust! I just corrected it. Haven't tried the pie crust yet. @@ArdentMichelle
how do you use all those eggs? I have heaps of eggs to use up and need some ideas, lol
I don't buy the 60 pack because I only buy for one, but I do have lots of ideas for eggs. Check out my next video on Sunday!
With Ibotta you get money back on Jiffy mix and other items for Thanksgiving meals, you get $14.35 back on a turkey.
That's awesome 👍
@@ArdentMichelle Yes it is.. I just started using the App and I love it.
Great point 👍 Thanks for sharing this!
We have found that Trader Joe's has the very best prices for eggs
They went up a little but not as much as other stores and have come back down. Sliced cheese and milk too
@@Suebearish eggs are a lot more at my Trader Joes. Love their cheese.
You're welcome 😁
Sponsored is when the manufacturer buys space in order to promote their product to consumers. It happens all over- Walmart, Yelp, Google Search, etc.
you are really great at finding the best deals :)
Thank you
Their large rolls of 5lbs of ground beef is a way better deal than those small rolls. It’s $17. About $3.20 a lb. I know not everyone has the freezer space but I refused to buy those small rolls unless I can find them less than $3.
I agree.....it's always better to buy in bulk. 👍
Glad my video is helpful 😁 I would love trying the little sauces for $1. I still have more to learn on the app. Didn't realize you could scan items.
Baked pumpkin as a side vegetable and pumpkin soup is just about it in Australia.
Yes, those items have definitely been elevated here in the U.S. 😂 Glad you like my video, even though you hate pumpkin 😂
I don’t have a Walmart close by. None in NYC. You find them in Long Island and upstate. None in the 5 boroughs.
That's such a bummer 😞
I'm making that shake asap!😂
If you like the taste of pumpkin then you should like it, although you may want yours with a little more sweetener than I do. Next time I'll add in vanilla.
Omg no - you NEED to grab the Skippy no sugar added peanut butter
It is sooooo good and is mostly the only one I eat anymore
After eating it constantly for a few years now when I try a different company like Aldi’s one that contains way too much sugar I feel sickened and disgusted by it
It’s sooooo sweet it makes me ill
I might be willing to give it a try because of this comment- however I'm a huge Skippy original peanut butter fan and if it doesn't taste good, I just won't eat it. 😂 Some of the other natural peanut butters I tried just never got eaten.
@@ArdentMichelle I know how you feel - I have tried salt free ones or more “natural nut only” ones and hated a lot of them - but this trust me is amazing
@@angelika_munkastrap4634 I'm gonna try it the next time I see a small jar of it.
❤
Wow 52¢ cornbread, I don't think we even sell it here. Eggs are over $5 for a dozen. $1 bacon is a great buy. Shame about that pizza.
I do still think it was not a bad deal for the pizza. Maybe next time I'll doctor it up a bit.
A leaner hamburger it will definitely cost more 💰
Save that fat. I keep it in a zip bag in the freezer. Use it for making gravy or adding to ground Turkey.
Its deceptive.
those darn sponsored ads. 😂
I love the Fire Roasted Tomato Salsa. The Wal Mart frozen pizzas will sometimes drop to half price. -- Not all varieties...the last time I scored Philly Cheese Steak pizzas.
great tip 👍 I'll have to keep an eye out for them.
Yes, it just kind of works out that way with extreme budgets.
Michelle, could you put a link for those oatmeal cookies? I’ve looked on your channel and don’t see them. Thanks!
You are precious 🤗 Thank you for taking the time to share 🥰
My pleasure 😁 Thanks for watching!
