While no one should ever condone or support death threats, it is understandable why some people feel such extreme frustration with referees, especially when there are repeated instances of inconsistent or seemingly biased decision-making. Football is a sport driven by passion, and when fans see their team consistently on the wrong end of controversial calls-like Gabriel Martinelli's unprecedented two yellow cards in one phase of play, Leandro Trossard's dismissal for time-wasting just 0.4 seconds after the whistle, or a referee openly admitting he didn’t send off a Manchester City player to "avoid ruining the game"-it fuels a sense of injustice. For Arsenal fans, and many others who have felt similarly wronged, these decisions don’t just impact a single match but entire seasons, affecting titles, Champions League spots, and even financial stability. While threats and abuse should never be the response, the anger and resentment some supporters feel towards referees and the system that protects them is, in many ways, understandable. The PGMOL doesn’t help itself when it refuses to admit wrongdoing, even when mistakes are blatantly obvious. Instead of taking accountability, it often doubles down or hides behind vague justifications, fueling frustration among fans and clubs alike. A perfect example is the recent red card given to Miles Lewis-Skelly, which was so clearly incorrect that it was overturned within hours of Arsenal’s appeal. Rather than acknowledging the error, the authorities seemingly couldn’t accept being proven wrong, so they responded by hitting Arsenal with a nonsense charge-almost as if to reassert their authority. It’s a joke, and it only adds to the belief that there’s an agenda or, at the very least, a level of arrogance within the refereeing system that prevents real accountability. Instead of transparency and fairness, decisions like these make it seem like the PGMOL is more interested in protecting its own image than ensuring justice in the game. The FA needs to take serious action to restore trust in refereeing, and one of the best ways to do that would be to bring in an independent party to oversee VAR. Right now, the system is run by the same referees who work on the pitch, many of whom are friends or colleagues, making it incredibly difficult to expect true impartiality. When officials are hesitant to overturn each other’s mistakes, it leads to inconsistency, frustration, and accusations of bias. A neutral, outside organization running VAR would remove this conflict of interest and ensure decisions are made fairly, without personal relationships getting in the way. Another option would be to introduce foreign referees into the Premier League. English officials have consistently been criticized for their poor decision-making, and unlike other top European leagues, the Premier League continues to rely solely on its own referees, despite their track record of errors. Bringing in top referees from other countries would not only raise the standard of officiating but also eliminate some of the built-in biases that come from lifelong involvement in the English game. If the FA truly wants to improve the integrity of officiating, they need to embrace change instead of protecting a failing system.

As Arteta mentioned, managers get these threats whenever the club loses the game but the media never stops from asking the tough questions, so why are refrees not being asked questions about their decisions? Funny how the media isn’t highlighting how Arteta’s behaviour has changed recently, if you notice how he acted after MLS got the red card and even helped to get him off, even in the conference he said he will “leave it to the club and PGMOL” So it’s crazy that now that Gary wants to chime in ? Neville literally said referee’s carry feelings into games is now saying it’s out of order that Micheal O was waited games, what a weirdo
It's horrible that referees, like every player and coach, face this abuse every week. It's lucky the current cohort of premier league referees don't have to face racism.

I was hoping that in the next five years diving, simulation, cheating, poor refereeing, surround ding the referee when a decision goes against you, may be a thing to STOP?

Yeh PGMOL have been an utter disgrace over the handling of this. Instead of admitting they were wrong, they doubled down with the media and then used the FA to charge Arsenal players. They are a little mens club with fragile egos and are rotten to the core. VAR team needs to be an independent body away from all the ref mates together!

Why should Arteta have to respond to a guy who’s anointed himself the oracle of the PL. The PGMOL and their cohorts in the media have gaslit football fans, while the issue is really referee incompetence/inconsistency.
Why do these journalists always try and dig Arteta out? He's a great manager learning on the job. He's done a fantastic job, so far! PGMOL needs to explain why they have charged Arsenal players when they themselves have reverted the red card and accepted that refree made a mistake. Oliver should be questioned about why he thought that Skelly deserved a direct red and Gomes only deserved second yellow.
Who is Gary Neville? The same guy who got sacked from Valencia? Oh 😅
400 Premier League games, 600 games domestically, 85 caps for his country, 8 league titles, 3 FA Cups, 3 League Cups, two champions league wins, an intercontinental cup win, a FIFA club world cup win, 5 time PFA premier league team of the year and inducted into the english football hall of fame.
Who are you?
The same Gary Neville who's win more major major trophies than small club Arsenal have and who unlike Artera the clown was good enough to represent his v
Country
Google him and cry yourself to sleep 😢
Only idiots think: Good player= Good coach/manager.
Neville's opinion = rubbish
stupid British media adding fuel.,
Playing 17% of minutes with 10 men is crazy. Being second in the PL and 3rd in champions League shows that the team has character
Arteta How are you feeling:
What about the VAR teams throwing under referees under the bus. There would be no outrage if the referees did their job
Funny how the media isn’t highlighting how Arteta’s behaviour has changed recently, if you notice how he acted after MLS got the red card and even helped to get him off, even in the conference he said he will “leave it to the club and PGMOL”
So it’s crazy that now that Gary wants to chime in ? Neville literally said referee’s carry feelings into games is now saying it’s out of order that Micheal O was waited games, what a weirdo
"arsenal refereed the same way as everybody else"
what u trying to do?
u work for PGMOL?
It's horrible that referees, like every player and coach, face this abuse every week.
It's lucky the current cohort of premier league referees don't have to face racism.
Look how hard they are trying to portray the idea "Arteta and Arsenal BAD! They want special treatment! Don't you mikel?! DONT YOU!!!"... Literally what it sounds like at this point to me.
Do we feel sorry for pep, these question. No we don’t we want to win and someone has to be a loser.
Hi Jordan, I’m back in the game after a long break to learn the basics. I still suck, but I have a much better understanding than last season. My bookie doesn’t offer PRA for Kawhi, but PR is at 23.5 and P at 19.5. Should I fade or take one?
Classiest man in the league
Why don’t they give the person speaking a microphone so watching on RUclips is much easier.
Mikel is so cold with them. I love it. Gives them NOTHING to sensationalize.
Have journalist asked FA and PGMOL about Oliver got death treats more than 3 weeks ago and not after Arsenal game? So why havent those death treats been mention before? Why always try to blame Arsenal?
I was hoping that in the next five years diving, simulation, cheating, poor refereeing, surround ding the referee when a decision goes against you, may be a thing to STOP?
He should be jailed for fraud
700 million spent
Nothing for 5 years
Sack this joker immediately
Every question is just chasing a click bait response it’s getting worrying
Poor journalism as usual, can't understand how the 1st guy gets in the room..
Is this really the best questions journalists can come up with?
Those accusations, innuendo, smokescreening and gaslighting, (Oliver, the real culprit in this debacle, isn’t even ON social media apparently so i would like to know where the EVIDENCE of death threats or abuse actually stems from or if it even EXITS!) of the Arsenal fan base by imbeciles like Neville and this so called “journalist” is nothing short of despicable, i really don’t know how Arteta keeps his composure because it’s DEPLORABLE! 🤨
Neville makes a living on saying stuff he knows will anger supporters. Nobody should take his opinions seriously.
Some of the questions regularly asked by journalists is just rubbish
With still no new signings to announce and now sitting joint 2nd in the league with Nottm Forest, again Nottm Forest!!! Arteta the fraud and his weak fanboys now all pray together that Bournemouth somehow manage to beat Liverpool later today...
Good luck with that!
Journalists have become clout chasers, it's a pity to see the standard of journalism these days
Gary Fooking Neville ....since the year Arsenal won the title at Old Trafford...witn EN14 on the bench and the Invincibles....he started feeling like exactly what he is...a little man.......he uses emotions more than being objective when doing commentary on the Arsenal
Why should Arteta have to respond to a guy who’s anointed himself the oracle of the PL. The PGMOL and their cohorts in the media have gaslit football fans, while the issue is really referee incompetence/inconsistency.
Why do you waste your life commenting on a small English club septic?
Stick to baseball
Neville is a media boy he says what he is told to say.
Why do these journalists always try and dig Arteta out? He's a great manager learning on the job. He's done a fantastic job, so far!
The likes of Gary Neville set upon him simply because of the rivalry between the two clubs. Let's have it right, Neville was a useless manager and only chats shite because he's a puppet for sky!
Fantastic job 🤣 4 consecutive years no trophies
@@blue_red_screen*5
Awwww another weak Arteta fanboy crying because Gary Neville has hurt his feelings 😢
5:50 # as a referee - we are allowed to make mistakes without ANY consequences. HOWVER - Anyone who complains about our mistakes will be charged and fined.
Micheal Oliver showing his true hatred for Arsenal again yesterday by awarding Liverpool a penalty that never was one and refusing to brandish MacCallister a blatant 2nd yellow card
How does he still have a job?
And also still no valid response from this fraud as to why Arsenal still haven't signed anyone yet....
The only right response - just ignore the yapping from Gary Neville.
So a refs bad decision is now our problem, we have to suffer for all the idiots online.
Nobody forced you to cry here boy!
Journalism has gone to shite
I can't wait to see how Mikel and Pep shake each other after we beat them today.. .God willing....❤
LOVE THAT!! All these so-called pundits do is make the egregious statements just to drive engagement to their platforms. The best thing Arsenal fans can do is stop giving them attention. Stick to football. Everything else is a distraction.
Arteta and the club have not incited any of the talks of corruption or threats made to Oliver. All they did was appeal an incorrect decision
Who told you that chump?
Please remember when Mikel speaks , eloquently and with a pin point precision …… this is his second language!! Gary Neville , you incoherent failed football manager please take note.
Many of the journalists are a bunch of of clowns …always trying to create conflict for juicy stories rather than taking about football
Can we give MA props for handling that first clown with aplomb
How about give him props for beating City?? Or maybe he can't perform the job that matters😂
Not death threats…. They are emotional keyboard warriors with no realistic chance of actioning it.
Arteta looks like he hasn’t slept, at the press conference today. Needs to get a solid 9 hours tonight. Let’s believe in our team’s training, full potential, naive dreams, fearless ambition, child like passion, monk like mindfulness, and simple appreciation existence...we’ve seen miracles from this mindset at Arsenal. Let’s create magic ❤
Magical failure
He looks like someone who's spent £800m to win nothing and now realizes they no decent player wants work with him to have their career ruined by him
Hence no signings this transfer window 😅
The death threats came after the Liverpool v Man U game as bought to light by TFT,
Tell him to be coach and see what happens
The first ‘Journalist’ needs a new job. Anyone know who it is?
lol let’s see if Gary has the same energy at the emirates today
That first reported pissed me off man. Why's he crying like a little baby😭🙏🏻
did not hear any crying
No but he's talking like a little spoilt brat. The refs in England are atrocious and it should be called out and continue to be. Getting death threats is not on Arteta or Arsenal here. Unfortunately the world is full of scum. Nothing will change that. @@HaytersTV
@@SuziesAshes10No-one cared except Arsenal fans when Bukayo got death threats so why should we care when a corrupt ref gets them ,not our problem
@@HaytersTV I'm guessing that fella is one of your mates
Why are you here crying over small club Arsenal?
Neville jealous he can’t coach big flop
Report trying to create a story out of nothing
Neville is trash, he is always disgraceful towards his negativity opinion on Arsenal specially on Arteta..he has some complex issue and jealousy..I remember when he got embarrassed at Valencia
Does anyone really take Gary Neville serious?
Is mikel coming out?????????😮
Has someone told him about the 9 points and a game in hand that Liverpool have against.....arsenal.,.....YNWA ❤
Art being journalist, shame about Daniel
My ever Stoic gaffer 💪🏽❤️
Arteta? Stoic? LOL
@ yep. Specifically @ the question regarding Gary Neville. He didn’t give anything back for the so called sensational headlines and why should he?
