well india has no such huge debt to the world that us owes to the world , also the cos of living is much less . Real wealth > that crypto or screenshoted nfts . Insecurities and risks also adds up with style of living . So costly inventions and research at the expense of future loans or future debts that the country owes to . Btw inequality is very high.

My retail manager was a Indian woman. One of the best managers I ever had as a employee. Indians make great managerial decisions. It’s literally their calling.

@@Pernection Theirs a lot of thing to tell you to complete the answer. I will go short. Indian system is based on caste and gender reservations. Real talent is never rewarded unless it is exceptional. If a child of employee gets 15/450 in uni entrance with employee quota, he is selected even though the cutoff for general category is 390! Many exams simply welcome schedule caste and tribe students to college, they just have to fill the form.

Salaries in India may be less, but so is the cost of living. It's about the overall culture and opportunities which lure people to go abroad

Yes but on a global scale you're saving really less if you're in India.
For context, if you want to buy an iPad - a teenager in the West can easily afford it from a months salary working at a local grocery store. Whereas a qualified engineer working in India would have to save up for 2-3 months. So even if the cost of living is less, on a global scale you're not saving much money compared to someone earning in the West.

All things which are locally produced are extremely affordable in india. For example Compare prices of food,housing or health care rates relative with salary in india & US.

Proficiency in their colonial Master's language gave the Indians an edge over others. In fact engineers from Chinese immigrant community were the backbone to form strong technogical foundation of USA in last century. Most of the Chinese settlers at that time were rail and agricultural workers. However a good number of their children became brilliant engineers and scientists. That was much before Indians go there en masse.

I am an Indian, and the reason for going to abroad is - 'lack of opportunities'. To get into the best universities of India (iits) you need to give world's one of the most difficult exam JEE advanced and 120k-150k candidates appear to give that exam out of which only 10k-12k get admission. And the worst part is that even the the best iit's world rank is somewhere in 170s and rest of the iits are not even in top 200
America respects talented people and rewards their talents no matter your race. Can you imagine The biggest Chinese companies ever getting Indian CEO’s? It’s impossible to imagine.
Indians are not the most-talented, just happens that most of the talented Indians are in USA.

The reasons why indians are successful in western countries are... These indians that migrated to western countries are the top echelons of indian societies and mostly from upper castes.. Also indians have to be great at a lot of things to just survive in india, with western society their society is built so that individuals are focused on becoming expert one specific skill, with indian society you have to become some sort of engineers from day one.. that's why these type of indians find it super easy to excel in western countries where they compete with white people who are not as much prepared... They can juggle more things at once and get it solved quickly than white people.. that's why they are successful in western countries..
I attended classes with Indians and they are so intelligent. I have often wondered how their educational curriculum is structured. Brilliant!

And the rest of his life he invested in taiwan. So i am pretty sure one day they will too invest in india. Now they can take all experience which they need. They left india when no company was there to invest in india.

Most companies leaving China are settling for Vietnam over India due to how difficult the Indian government makes it to do business. AI is already advancing, so within the next 10 years, most manual labor jobs will most likely be automated meaning India will struggle employing their large population, which is already a problem. As a non Indian, maybe it's a good news for Indian that there are a lot of Indian being good engineer and CEOS in many countries, but actually they maybe sad that their people work for other country and leave their own country is left behind just like that.

Technically this is good for Indian-Americans not for Indians, as they all had already relinquished there Indian citizenship in favor of US citizenship, then only I had seen them occupying that high position..

As an young Indian doctor in USA, I must appreciate the openness of the American culture, contrasted with barricades for outsiders in many other countries. That being said, the work culture and circumstances in India have to be made better if the ‘brain drain’ is to be stopped.

The graduated rate of IIT is not even 1%. More than 1 million (10 lakh) students give jee mains which is kinda like pre IIT exam . If they get a rank of something around 100k(1 lakh)something like that then only they are allowed to give the IIT exam out of which 40k cracks it. So there are like 2 exams to get into the prestigious IIT and only 10k gets into it. Hence the acceptance rate is something around 0.5%

Excellently researched, I was wondering just that. I also appreciate that the US is able and willing to let anyone lead. Not so much in our country, where there are hefty protectionist measures.
The real reasons behind Indian CEO's : 1) You can't call it a brain drain, every Indian will run towards the west if given a chance. Even the rich indians. India is corrupt, racist, unpaved and abject poor. 2) In the USA, they pick these CEO's for socio political demographic reasons. in other words to cater to larger market and shame black American population. 2) To kill two birds with one shot- meaning playing race card in case of huge lawsuits. Till today we can't criticize the worst president ever black Obama. I've seen the trial of Sunder Pichai. A couple of hrs. before the trial 30,000 Indians signed an online petition " stop the racism". The white jury was nervous throughout the trial. They succumbed to public pressure and google dodged $10 billion in law suits. Microsoft got rid off so many lawsuits after Bill Gates appointed an indian CEO. Whites have become hostages in their own countries that they built with hard work.

I'm not Indian, I am from Dominican Republic, but I am a Software Engineer and have worked with many many Indians as colleagues and have had many Indian Managers. They are great people to work with. 🙌🏻
I studied computer science in America and only made it through my algorithms classes because of the intelligent teachers from India on RUclips!! They are the smartest and best instructors. They deserve the positions in America, truly.
Any child born in India would know, you have to do a lot more with a lot less (called "jugaad"). There's inherently greater competition at each step of life, less of everything, every resource imaginable is scarce. Even KG schools have interviews to select who gets in. As years go by, this gets hard wired in our brains. Adapt, change, excel, push. It's basically survival. What is taken as granted in richer countries, Indians need to work much harder to even get that much. Plus we're nerds and have pushy parents who want their child to be top at his field so they can feel good & brag to their relatives. So it's a culture thing as well

As a computer engineer here in Texas there were by far more Indians in my engineering program than any other race and it wasn’t even close. I also went to a predominately white university. When it comes to tech and engineering companies they tend to hire former engineers to be their ceos
one word: in-group preference, all it takes is one Indian HR manager, or even a middle-line recruiter, and in about a year the company will be flooded with the Indian staff. Therefore, the wh1te replacem3nt agenda is still on course just as the elites want. Won't take long before the wh1te become the minority in their own nations.

@@user-sn6hd4kg6b I did, but it doesn’t take me watching a video to know that the engineering classes I personally attended during my program were dominated with Indians by far compared to every other ethnicity.
As an Indian, it is truly heartwarming to see so many kind comments about people's interactions with Indians overseas! While the Indian education system needs a lot of reform and upgradation, the immense competition for the best colleges does help identify talented and hardworking people who end up doing well in their careers :)
Indians have shown the ability to look at world problems with a unique perspective and resourcefulness. May it be the software engineers who leads Google, Microsoft etc or Indian Aerospace engineers of NASA. I have no doubt that Indians will prevail in the aerospace industry as well.
And you don't have to worry about Indians taking over the world or trying to dominate other nations because they genuinely wants to solve problems with out expecting anything in return.
Their culture is based on core values like,
Vasudeva Kudumbakam - Regardless Of The Differences In Culture, Nation Etc, The Essence Of All Humans Are The Same. Hence World Is One Big Family.
Aham Brhmasmi' - My Identity Belong To Cosmos. What Ever I Do Is Not Just For My Self, But For All Living Beings.
Adithi Devo Bhava - A Person From A Foreign Land Coming To Our Country Must Be Treated With All Respect And With Everything Possible - Like A God.
Satyam Eva Jayathe - Truth/Righteous/Love/Dharma Etc. Anyone Who Divert From These Values Will Be Eventually Crushed By The Dharmic Wheel, Regardless Of How Successful They Look. Hence 'truth will always prevail.'
These are core values of Indian culture for thousands of years. Its in their blood and comes naturally to Indians.
Hindus are smart because of Hinduism, brahmin follow Hinduism the most and they are the smartest of all Hindus, what more proof you want..

I can't speak for everyone in this video, but Satya Nadella is an awesome human being, he's the reason why Microsoft isn't associated with garbage tech companies. He also understands the value and limitations of money and respect. It's unfortunate what happened to his son, but Nadella has grown from the many obstacles thrown his way.
That 'Culture' needs to be established in India if we want to retain our talent. 40-50 startups turning unicorns in 2021 may be a sign of 'reverse brain drain'. Only time will tell what is going to happen :)

India is poorer than European countries but richer than African countries - so there are many people in India than in African countries who can afford to immigrate to a western country. Indians love the western countries so much. Almost all Indians would love to migrate to a western country if given chance.

I lived in the US for 7 years and had green card. 1999 to 2006. Most people go to the US for two reasons.
1. Money and salary is more in the US
2. It brings elevated social status in India when you are in the US. When I was living in the US, I could immediately feel that suddenly many of my relatives started respecting me more.
3. There are more opportunities to grow your career, and subsequently money and social status.
Why did I come back ? My wife and parents always wanted me to come back. Plus, back in 2006, I thought India is taking off and will be having opportunities similar to the US. Its happening, but at slower pace than I expected.
I am working in indian mnc from 7 years I don't have any home any land I can't afford any home even in very small city. I think cost of living is not very cheap. Even no girl want to marry me because I am poor. I am victim of reverse dowry by girl side. They want money from poor engineer . Currently I am 32 years old. Even will not be able to buy any home in next 5 to 10 years . Cost of home is around 55 to 60 lakh in my small city.
Now a days girl side are very money minded. One of my relative recently got married but after marriage girl side didn't send girl to groom home because his house was not plastered and floor was not made. My relative is very rich he has 10 hectare of land.
Now I am scared how any girl side treat me as I am homeless, landless and fatherless.
Lot of girl side came to see me but all denied to proceed further. Even i am not ugly.

Its never usually about money. A person working within the country’s software or tech industry or most large corporates for that matter can have a financially comfortable middle class lifestyle. The push factor is quality of life. The pollution, the traffic, stress, haggling and basic comforts like widespread public sanitation are missing. The West has this. Even China’s rich also send their children abroad for study many of which end up living their permanently. And China is doing quite well with clean and modern cities. But again, pollution. Stress. Traffic. Its not about money but comfort.

What brought me to US were scientific research opportunities. If you want to do any meaningful and well funded research in India, its incredibly competitive to get in. Pretty much accessible only to geniuses. I am not a genius, but not too bad either. I was left with no choice but to look outside. It wasn't difficult for me to convince a professor to give me a position in his lab in the US. I was able to make good scientific contributions, and continue to do so through my R&D job. Some of us are just nerds who want to do science haha

None of these CEO's grew up in slums (which Western media loves), they were born in upper middle class families. It constitutes 5% of population which translates into 70 million in a country of 1.4 billion.
That's why we see a huge educated Indian diaspora. They did work hard, & surely India's hyper competitive educational environment did play a role but it wasn't poverty or lack of amenities.
PS- IIT's have a acceptance rate of 0.1% to 1.5% based on category/discipline/college.

Yea, I guess you're right at the end. Indian salaries are quickly catching up to the western pay. I now hear salaries well above 1CR (~$140k) in India, and with a luxury cost of living of approx. $20k, the justification to leave India is weakening for the future engineers.

Thats far from reality still. Only a very few people in tech industry earn 1CR in India. This is also solely based on the high amount of pay these workers are getting from the West. It is not the the average pay of India is rising, it's only the tech people are getting paid well by their employers based in the West. Moreover if you're in the West you can earn more than an engineer in India even if you are working in a grocery store.
We still have a long way to go on regards to our infrastructure and poverty issues. Only then can India retain its talent.
1 cr is extremely rare even here in Bangalore. you have to be in the top levels of management to earn that much. the CEO in my company only makes 3 cr
American life is not all about more money. It's way beyond it and only those people understand who have actually lived in the American system for over 10 years. Whites have become hostages in their own countries that they built with hard work.
this goes to show that a lot of amazing Indians leave India, instead of returning/staying in India and improving India. but India is always developing rapidly regardless of whether our brightest minds prefer to stay or leave India
It's not only about salary, for me reasons for leaving India would be:
1. Corruption ( I saw a video where a rural area's politician was showing off his two brand new helicopters, and probably these things were brought from funds for area's development)
2. Population, too many people living here and resources are less, cut throat competition.
3. Climate😓, it's really hot all over India except Himalayan region.
Also I'm not academically talented so hopefully I'm gonna stay here only (in India) , Not gonna contribute for brain drain but the thing is I don't even got one, so not contributing for development either.

I never found a video on Internet where a foreign RUclipsr creating video related to India and didn't show those poor slums and talked about poverty even tho it has no direct relation with the topic? I've a simple question you also added footage of China and USA as well but in their case it was all the most developed regions but in case of India even tho it was related to tech and startup's you inculcated years old footages (Except 1 or 2) that too of slums. When we talk about Silicon valley do we show footages of Miami? So why showing the oldest region of country which has no relation with start-ups? I'm sorry and I accept that we have poverty in here but those footages doesn't shows today's reality. Sadly knowingly or unknowing you guys are also brain draining the world about India as it's still in 1900's. We have Mumbai, Banglore, Pune, Gurgaon, Noida, New Delhi, Chandigarh which are so much developed and are known as a startup hubs but you won't share those footage.

Thanks for speaking about India so positively! I just wanted to point out that India's population is both good and bad for fostering engineers. A lot of these CEOs have come out of the IITs where 800k students write an exam for about 4k seats. Only the best make it and it takes an incredible amount of innate intelligence and dedication to beat those many competitors. At the same time, many students experience burnout and depression due to the same competitive pressure.
And as you pointed out, many of these CEOs have also done higher education in top grad schools in the US which makes them very highly qualified.
Edit: I never said any of these people became CEOs purely because of IIT. I'm just saying you need to have very high accumen to crack JEE Adv. Coupling that with a degree from an Ivy League in US makes you a very highly qualified person. These people have all invested years in their educations from some of the best colleges in the world. Also, I said most because I am well aware that Satya Nadella is from Manipal. Also, anyone who says IIT is not that big an achievement and they've only gotten so far because of a US education has clearly not given up 2+ years of their life to try and prepare for the hellhole of an exam that is JEE Adv, the discipline it requires lasts with you for life. It doesn't guarantee success and may not always be a fair indicator of merit but its the best we can do given the population.

Ancient India was based on Science and Technology, we invented 0 which is the core of computer science. Those are running through the genes. Another important thing is Indians usually have very good family bonding which provides mental piece outside their professional work which is extremely important.
I am working in indian mnc from 7 years I don't have any home any land I can't afford any home even in very small city. I think cost of living is not very cheap. Even no girl want to marry me because I am poor. I am victim of reverse dowry by girl side. They want money from poor engineer . Currently I am 32 years old. Even will not be able to buy any home in next 5 to 10 years . Cost of home is around 55 to 60 lakh in my small city.
Now a days girl side are very money minded. One of my relative recently got married but after marriage girl side didn't send girl to groom home because his house was not plastered and floor was not made. My relative is very rich he has 10 hectare of land.
Now I am scared how any girl side treat me as I am homeless, landless and fatherless.
Lot of girl side came to see me but all denied to proceed further. Even i am not ugly.
Indians are the type of people I know that have focused and concentrated and don't have unnecessary thoughts while reaching their goals.
Sports and academics are a complete different things, in sports from a very young age people realise that if they are not genetically gifted they won't thrive

Before comparing salaries you have to see the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). The value of $1 cannot be measured by exchange rates. It can only be measured by comparing PPP. That's basic economic sense .

You mentioned about the salaries and compared US and India.Well you must also consider that the cost of living in the states is way higher than in India, and therefore the imbalance is evened out.
Not that much. Housing in US is pretty cheap. Whereas it takes blood and bone in India. You need to take the ratio of earning vs expenses. US tops in earnings.
