I used to play the original spelunky so much that I could beat it every run but now that I've started the remake I haven't been able to get past the jungle. Can't wait to try these tips out!

Just avoid all the enemies and run past everything. Buy the compass to get to the exit quickly
I really like your videos man. Definitely helped me improve. Haven’t played Spelunky in 3 years until I got an Xbox one and backed it up with my old 360’s hard drive and it’s good to be back!

grabbing an item, using a rope to climb up on the last tile of the shop (out front door) to bring the keeper to the edge, dropping the item in shop then bombing him is so much easier then the whip trick. yeah, it cost's resources but it's also basically risk free without complicated timing and inputs.
I think to whip arrows you have to be 2-3 tiles away, I went to try and whip an arrow after not playing Spelunky for a while, and I actually did it, I was surprised
Also, if you wanna kill a shopkeeper, if the store is a gun store, take one of the weapons that can kill easily, pick it up, ans kill the shopkeeper with it.

But always remember to be close! If you're too far away, sometimes his weapon will hit you first!

#1 Whipping the arrows - not entirely correct. You don't need to be that far away. You can do it closer. It depends on your speed. If you don't allow enough falling distance, you won't build enough speed, so arrow will hit your legs before it hits the whip. The higher your jumping hight is, the closer you can be to the arrow trap. You can whip from 2 blocks away.
Well, I whipped a trap while climbing up a ladder, explain?

Did you know that in shop you can pick up weapons and use them machete can kill shopkeeper no problem.
You can also hold down and walk off ledge and you will hold down,that can be used to get in spikes.
And you take no fall damage if you fall on enemy or grab a ledge.

if you are too far from an arrow trap you just wont get hit at all. and the closer you get the tighter the timing ive managed to whip an arrow from the block next to the trap. (complete luck but it works)

i'm trying to beat Olmec and the farthest i can start nearest to the Temple is the ice caves.
Some Ice caves and Temple tricks would be kinda helpful.
Roto Shinozaki I played this game a lot, so I can give you some. For example, if Anubis is bothering you in the temple, you can kill him easily by throwing him 2 bombs at the right time after you picked them up. With a little practice, he becomes less of a problem than the fireball-men or the randomly-teleporting-stupid-crocodile-headed-men. As for the ice caves, it's easy as long as you watch under your feet before jumping, plus you can grab anti-personal mines before they explode to use them to kill mammoths, or the King Yeti, for instance.
In the ice caves having a jetpack/cape and compass makes the whole biome a joke. If you dont have those then you should simply look down before jumping. Dont mess with the yeti king or mammoths if you dont have crysknife, sticky bombs or shotgun.
I havent been able to beat olmec either but in the temple, if you have nothing and want to kill anubis, simply place a bomv near your feet, pick it up and throw it at anubis right before it explodes. Do this two times successfully and you should get his sceptre. After you get his sceptre enemies in the level wont be a threat to you. The only threat will be traps.

Tip one: SLOW DOWN stop acting like your doing a speedrun! If you slow down you can go to hell and defeat yama!! This tip is really helpful since every can't slow down

That does work, but since your score is determined by the amount of money that you collect it isn't usually that good an option. Also if you are a good citizen and don't kill the shopkeeper then you can't get the shotgun unless it's for sale which doesn't happen that often.
