- In this video Golfmates Hero & golfing legend OMP - with over 50 years CAT 1 handicap experience takes me on over a 4 holes match at Chorlton Cum Hardy Golf Club, but with a TWIST.
I play off the tips, known as the back or competition Tees & Pat will play from the RED forward tees. This evens things up & gives PAT around 170 yard advantage so receives no SHOTS. This is a great idea to help all golfing abilities enjoy the game more by teeing off based on your current skill level or distance. Golf should be FUN FOR EVERYONE and this might help seniors or even speed up the pace of play.
Pat known as OMP (fairway finder) is still enjoying his Benross clubs but has always wanted to try Callaway irons.

I think the idea of using the forward tees is for shorter hitters is a no brainer. I have suggested it to my dad, just need more people to do it to get away from the old 'ladies tees' tag.

Fan of this format. Played in a league one time with some older gentlemen, great guys and golfers but I out drove them all by 30-40 yards. They played off the forward tees and I played off the backs and it was some of the most fun competition I've ever had playing golf. Felt the most fair, in lieu of giving shots. I love it when you gents play this format.
I have a lot in common with Pat, we are close to the same age, our Birthdays are in July, we hit the ball the same distances and we play course management to our advantage. Most of all we still love the game. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.. Pat..
