Best miking of the recorder on all your videos. Live setting recordings don’t show the subtleties of your tone. The recorder can be warm and expressive and this recording shows it. And I’m a sucker for a ballad and a tenor. Thanks.
A very nice and expressive impro on this great standard, I hear you've studied many melodic sequences and you apply them very tasty, like the 16th runs in between, very good quality work and your recorder is recorded with beautiful tone, keep well.
@@TaliRubinstein You are wonderful Tali. I was sorry your documentary seemed cut short. It was split into bits and didn't seem to have a conclusion. But you could easily make it into a film.
@@TaliRubinstein I would say one thing, though - well, several things really. Have you ever heard of el lebrijano? Well, he was a famous Spanish flamenco singer - not the greatest, but very good - and he reached out and made a connection between the music of Morroco (the Maghreb ruled Spain for 700 years) and Flammenco. The result is wonderful. As unpretentious and exciting as it may be to take the recorder and make it your instrument, it seems to me that you are missing a trick. Rather than doing jazz duets you should be doing duets with ney flautists and reaching out to the huge heritage of the Levant, and of Palestinians. Of course you know of the ney. Even I do. Doesn't it make sense?
