@@froggydoo8140 My guess is at the minimum you'd need to either transpose or have Celtic whistles in many different keys for the different pieces. Unfortunately, my ear isn't good enough to detect if any of the pieces had mixed keys, but that should be pretty obvious looking at the sheet music.
Beautiful music by a talented recorder player. This is exactly the type of music that inspired me to begin learning the recorder as an adult. Thank you for posting!
Thank you very much for your prodigious achievement and mastery of the various shades in your Medieval and Morley songs, that help me to know and like more these fresh, spiritual, sweet musics !
Beautiful! The first Saltarello and Trotto seem to theme around the same motifs (the band Dead can Dance have a great version of that saltarello too!) Thanks for sharing! :)
This is spectacular! Exactly how I'd imagine the Pied Piper to play his songs back in the 12th century. :D I don't suppose I could use this cover for a game? With credits of course.
I don't get it how you can play the high notes so nice and clean. I have a cheap plastic recorder with German fingering that sounds like a war crime on higher notes...
I guess you already found the reason yourself 🙃 German fingering sounds not as good as baroque fingering because the notes are clearer with baroque fingering (but i idk why). Also, you have a cheap recorder which is why it cannot be that good. Additionally, wooden recorders just sound besser than plastic instruments. And then, she just plays extremely well 😊
@@melissajaninepeters3694 Thank you for your response! I didn't know that about German vs Baroque fingering. I think I'll start looking for a quality wooden recorder ☺️
@@Luukuu you're welcome 😊 I've been playing for about ten years now myself and tried lots if different recorders. Does anyone know where I can find the sheet music for these pieces? Especially the saltarelli and the trotto as these titles are generic. Any pointers much appreciated!
Hi, you just need to type the names of the pieces like “Saltarello sheet music” and search in google, you can find most of the pieces. I only google them😊
If you got a tin whistle I think at least definitely the range is enough. I think this is played with an alto recorder, which is in F, so it should most easily translate to an F tin whistle
@@phyllischan3696 I love the tone of this recorder! I'm finding a few different options for it online, though. Is this Alto in F or G? Or something else? Thank you!
Nice, I like it) But is it a common recoder? I heard that common recorders sound ugly and disgusting when you blow in harder unlike the tin whistle or some other types of flutes - those you blow in a bit more or a bit less and sound doesn't get bad, vice versa - it changes its tone and sounds the way you want it to sound. Hope you'll get what I'm asking :D
Дмитрий Анищенко I think any proper recorder can sounds nicely. Like any other instrument, learning recorder also needs to take lessons with proper teachers.
Jay Cimo Kynseker recorder has a little difference in fingering as baroque. I think you can find out the fingering chart of it online. In Mollenhauer site.
Zackery Saulness I ordered online through “Early Music shop” in London. I think they can ship worldwide, as they shipped this instrument to me to Hong Kong.

Wonderful playing! Hard to believe the instrument we all played in grade school can sound so amazing

Plastic recorders perform very well nowadays. I have a video comparing four excellent brands of alto recorders
Also note the different ranges. Soprano is the high pitched elementary recorder. Most adults will play alto. Or tenor
