Yep, I bought my first CanvasCamp directly from Belgium in 2014 and its been used all over Canada in temperatures from +40 to -40 and its rock solid ..... I love it !! It's the exact same model too the Sibley Protech 500, they're fantastic !!!
QUESTION. I see you trying something I was wanting to give a go. At @8:50 I see you using a 2x4 brace next to the tent. How well has this worked for you? I'm wanting to set up a 5m bell tent but I don't have the space to run guylines so far away from the side of tent and thought about using pipe or 2x4 next to the wall to keep the side wall upright but be able to angle guy line at 45* down to ground so the overall footprint of tent isn't so huge. I know I can set poles in the ground next to tent, kind of like the screwed together posts on your houseboat, but I'm curious about just bracing. Thanks!
Can you please explain how you detailed the stove pipe running through the second layer fly? On the camp canvas website, it says you can’t put the stove through the fly. Thanks!
Do you ever feel the need to use an electric fence for safety? Your lifestyle is intriguing. Also, your evaluation of the tent was thorough and practically knowledgeable! I also enjoyed the camera work! Really wonderful! Much enjoyed! Beautiful country! Visually beautiful!
Hey Yo Yo good to see you again. Was this winter in Sweden particularly colder than normal,, and good look with the new project,,, I'm thinking Dalsland canal 🤔🤪🤪.
Hi Jojo, Thank you for your Video. I have gut exactly this tent Standing in my Garden. Ist stood Up three month ago in very dry and hot Summer temperatures. I asked myself, If the canvas Cotton will BE damaged by UV light. What do you think, ist a toproof (tarp) necessary, If the tent Stands outside for 4 month per year...
Hi! Sunlight definitely affects the tent fabric. I could see a clear belaching of canvas that was exposed to sun for longer time compared to parts that were in the shadow. I would say a tarp would definitely protect the canvas but in warm summer months it makes it also warmer inside. Less airflow. That's why on the raft tour I had only the tent with out any second layer. However I can't say if the bleaching of the canvas also means that it's damaged. I haven't had problems with it being waterproof. I think more important is when you pack it that it's dry and keep it in a dry place when stored. Hope that helps!
Thanks for your lovely review. I want to put up a tent like this in a clearing in the forest but have been told that is inadvisable as it will get dripped on from trees and will get mould. Can you tell me your opinion on that please? I'm wondering what's wrong with getting mould and did you also put your tent up in the forest? It looks as though you did.
Hi Cath, yes I had the tent set up in a forest between high trees for the first six months. Depending on how wet the weather is it could indeed be not ideal when there is not much sun coming to the spot to dry the tent again. However when you have a stove and heat up the tent that helps drying as well. What I experienced when having the tent under trees is that birds poop on it. On the canvas fabric that's a bit more difficult to clean but I had the tent fly over it (the second plastic layer) there it washes away more easily. The dripping on the tent from trees is something I also experienced. It could be very annoying at night when it didn't rain anymore but the wind would shake the branches above and cause drops to fall on the tent. That was quite loud and in an not regular pattern... difficult to sleep :-) The tent getting moldy I experienced when I had set it up on the island. Since it was always in the same spot there was no sun coming to the backside (north) so after a year there were moldy parts there. Nothing broke because of that it was just an optical thing. However I think after some time that could become weak spots. Also I hadn't set up the tent properly. Due to the terrain the tent fly didn't completely cover the canvas fabric and on the spots where it still rained on they became moldy. So if you want to take care of your tent I can recommend using a tent fly and maybe replacing that after a year or so and also taking it down from time to time and let it dry completely if that's a possibility. Hope I could help!
@@MyNorthernStory thanks for that. Can I ask you, how do you avoid the tent fly getting in the way of the chimney for the stove? Does it go through it? Or is the tent fly really high up in the branches?
mould will rot the canvas, if it gets mouldy, remove it as soon as possible. you don't want to put it under trees as the tree sap and bird poo can stain and possible weaken the fibres that they land on, also if any branches fall it could damage the tent and injure you
Amazing Jojo! Thanks for the honest review and the tips on where we can improve! Can't wait to see what you have in store next!
It was also interesting to see the small little details that changed from the first tent to the second. Also like packaging etc. :-)
It's been a while. Great to see you again
How freaking AWESOME is this?!, I tent on a raft?!!! Beyond brilliant!
Hello, so glad to see another video from you. Regards from Portugal
Good to see you. It's been awhile

I Love this Video, Wonderful Adventures, Your So Blessed!🏕
Liked the art style of displaying information to include your environment as a canvas.
I just ordered mine. Thanks for the positive review!
Thanks for the video ..the gap over at the floor is for an electric cable according to the Canvass Camp website.
Thanks for the update.(and review)
I look forward to your next adventure

It is so good to see you!!! I think I learned a new word in Austrian? "Heydo" (sp?)
That's actually swedish :-)
You didn't tell about the woodstove! That makes the tent so good for the winter!
Would like to do a separate video for the stove once.
@@MyNorthernStory Please do, I'm really interested in the practical side of using a stove in a tent.

Please do say?

Thanks! There are no dangerous animals around so I always felt quite safe.

This winter was definitely colder than the last one. From what I've hear from people around here it wasn't this cold since years.
De Nantes en France, Je vous souhaite aussi le meilleur💙💚
great to see you!
wonderful video, beautiful soul
Thank you for the review, ordered one we will be living in for 6 months in the Coastal Mountains of British Columbia.
Love the hat. Where do I get one, I live in Alaska which can get very cold. Today it's -8 (F)
Very nice, very good information, thank you JoJo!
Pretty cool! 🌈
Superb review 👍👍
Thanks for the review, great! You mention that you lived in it for 1.5 years, do you think it could last longer then that?
Do you rent the land area for the rent?

The mice ate into your tent space? Was the tent on a platform at that time? Wow.

I like how you call them "anchors". That way we don't have to decide whether to call them stakes (US) or pegs (UK/Can).
In the Netherlands we call them haring..just like the fish 🙂
how did you add a stove when you have a second layer of tent fly?
Hi jojo. I am thinking about getting the orland stove for a tiny house or yurt. What are your experiences and opinion about it? Carl
Wondering where the stove pipe hole is in relation to the door
Excellent
What are those aftermarket gui ropes are those? You
Put some steel wool maybe for mice?
Afraid that the ice will cave in!
Why do i want a tent now? 🤔
Where's nora?
"I'm here" (says Norah :-))
Maybe you should check the tents from Autentic ;-)
Can you produce more content and frequently, let's say once in every two weeks?
There will be some more videos during the next weeks. Also missed making videos a little bit.
💚🇬🇧🌱
I bet the hole is for bringing a power cord in the tent
I have used that actually to bring in the cable from the solar panel.
I think its for simple ventilation, but if they were smart they would have made it mesh ...but I'm just speculating.
奇怪,女友跑哪兒了?
Maybe she went camping .
Thanks for the information it was very useful.🏕️
