I checked at Hobby lobby here in Nashville Tennessee yesterday (3/5/22) and a very small bundle of ends and pieces was $79.99 !!! You got at least 4 or maybe even 5X's more leather !! I would definitely "pull" the trigger as you say on any of these !!!! Excellent video !

Definitely enjoying them. If I had to do it all again I wouldn’t buy the black. Seems like they were the smallest pieces, so when you’re trying to match them together for wallet or something like that the black is all different shades of black and texture.
Just checked Buckle Guy that 30lbs bundle is now 210$!!! For that price never ever!

Yes. Definitely worth it. You can make thousands of dollars worth of product out of that leather.
I just looked at Buckleguy for their scrap bundles. As of three days ago, they had 2.5 - 6 oz leather scraps in lots of varieties and colors. Today, they do not. Everything now is 10-12 oz. No skiver. No splitter. Oh well.
First of all, Stanley FTW! I've been wondering what the deal is with scraps. Thanks for sharing. The way I see it, it's a good option to get your hands on some proper leather. However, I live in Bulgaria and I don't get free shipment from serious sites, so the price goes up considerably, and at that point I'm better off doing a bit of planning and ordering a whole/half hide, than being dependent on the surfaces I get from the loot box. It would kill me to touch this beautiful leather and know that I can't make a bag out of it because there is no piece big enough in the bundle.
How do you keep track of all these pieces? I tend to forget what I have in my single tiny box of scraps. Or do you just rummage through them between projects until the new idea dawns on you?

I would get three 5lb boxes in different colors.
I wouldn’t get the black. The color It’s too much in the black so we have a hard time matching things together. If you’re looking for black then you can buy at 2 ft.² panel

At the time I was able to pick the colors and weight/thickness I believe. So I could pick the Dublin natural, Dublin black, Dublin nut brown.
