I don't know how many European fans you have out there but there's a Dixie addict here in Brussels! I think I've almost watched all of your videos, they are so helpful and motivating. I just want to get on a plane and hike the AT and/or the PCT.

I had to laugh as you were going by all the other hikers. You could feel the chase was on! Hike on!
How has the water availability so far? That is one of my weaknesses. I am a huge water drinker when I hike.

That was so much fun!!! Thanks for thanking us along; awesome to see the Mayor out again, the best parts of hiking are our hobo nights, sleeping under bridges, in drain pipes, under picnic tables, in back of Food City, Tressel 18... whatever! One knows they've reached true hiker trash when they take a mini bath in the local sink (been there :-) Perk's shaggy dog shake off moment in the beginning was great, how does that man eat with that beard? I love you guys & your adventure and thank you again for taking us along!

I very rarely comment on RUclips but I wanted to say how much I appreciate how authentic and real you are in your videos. Especially in comparison to some other RUclipsrs "documenting" thru-hikes. It's the reason I enjoy your content the most. It's about the PCT, it's about you, going through the experience of hiking it. No games, roles, or playing it for the crowd. Love it! Thank you for that and all the best on the rest of the trail!

Thanks for the warning about headphones. You're sooo right! I carry some, but I never wear them while hiking. Maybe in the tent before I drift off, or in town for sure. I used to wear them on the trail all the time, then while I was in Olympic National Forest I startled a full size male elk who was foraging just off the trail in a large bush. First either of us knew of it, I was within arm's reach of the bush, which started shaking like we were in a hurricane. Then the elk leaps out, higher than my head (I'm 6'4") and lands on the other side of the trail and squares off with me. Fortunately he decided I wasn't actually a threat and he bounded off in the other direction. That was about 20 years ago, and I haven't taken a step on trail with headphones ever since -- and I'm glad. Keeping them out keeps me tuned in to my surroundings more fully. Hiking is just a better experience without distractions.

This is a come back for me, I've watched every one of Dixie's AT, PCT and the CDT episodes it would take a really strong hiker to out run Dixie. Anyone who could hike 62 miles in one 24 hour period has my total respect for that accomplishment, you go Dixie!

I live out here in the high desert and I have NOT HEARD awesome things about Deep Creek. I've heard there's a lot of graffitti and one has to be careful about the people out there. But, I hike very often (this is my neck of the woods) out in Big Bear, Wrightwood and all the area from deep creek (I've actually not been out there) to and beyond Silverwood lake. I don't do much mileage: 4-6 miles...but, it's certainly better than nothing. I love your vids....thanks for all that you give us.

Hey girl, when I was walking the Camino, every so often I soaked my clothes in baking soda. The baking soda neutralizes odors. You can also pull your shoe inserts out and just cover the insides of the shoes and the inserts with baking soda. The next day just dust them off and you will be good to go! My Italian friends called it magic ;)

The worse part is that I'm near Portland, Oregon, so I live like a couple of hours from the PCT and I've never been on it. Geez, I gotta get my priorities straight. But I love the videos, thanks for sharing your adventures.
