  • Nothing disrupts a BJJ room more than an experienced wrestler on the mat.
As a wrestler, it’s frustrating being able to control your opponent oh but not being sure how to submit them. Years of grappling experience it out the window because you’re too new to BJJ to use the submissions you’ve been taught.
What about modifying what you already know?
Check out this quick easy adjustment on turning your front headlock and gator roll into an easy submission.

Mr. Buck, I'm wondering why techniques like this aren't taught in wrestling (typically, I think I have seen one or two guys actually get choked unconscious in a front headlock in matches). As far as I can tell, that frontlock isn't (at least blatantly) illegal, and could easily be hit in an actual folkstyle wrestling match. Why is this? Why isn't this knowledge more common in wrestling?
