The uv clarifier has been the very best investment we have made with our pond. In 2 days it took our pond from pea green to crystal clear. now we run the clarifier one day a week to maintain clear water. Koi Pond build UV Clarifier and filtration
Hi Mate, Just to let you know producing ozone has nothing to do with how fast or slow you flow water through your water sterilizer. In a nut shell, ozone is produced by using quartz sleeves and quartz sleeves only. If you want to use your UV unit without fear of producing ozone request sleeves made from "Vycor". Vycor allows the germicidal wavelength 254nm to pass through which you need for disinfection however, cuts out "most" of the 180nm needed to produce ozone. Just thought I would CLEAR that up... lol
Hi Paul, I noticed you don't have these on your website any more? Also how many Liters per hour would you recommend on the 18 watt unit and the 36 watt unit on a Red Sea 250. Keep in mind I want to use this to kill white spot bacteria. Thanks Kane.
Question: I noticed that some of these pond UV sterilizers are actually cheaper than dedicated aquarium ones, and also support much higher flow. Would such a pond UV sterilizer (10W let's say) work in a 100gal aquarium or are there other differences between pond and aquarium sterilizers?
i just bought a 36w uv steriliser, is this ok to use in a 2ft tank with a red devil cichlid (freshwater tank) ? i have no plants, so plant growth is not of concern i have a serious algae problem to the point i have to clean the tank every 2 weeks , so i see this as a good solution
thanks mate, also, i recently purchased one of these and set it up, but im unsure if i need a pump? will i need a pump to feed the sterilizer aswell? or can it just run on its own?
hi I am hoping you van help me out , I have a uv and it is a tetra pond uv, I was told to put it before the filter so it would break down the gunk and garbage it is meant to break down and make the filtration easier. even the instruction said to put it before the filter . now I have read everywhere cuz it kills everything it will not allow beneficial bacteria build up in the canister bio filtration. what are your thoughts on that.
hi Paul, i put UV sterilizer in my tank for about 7 months, and thinking to clean/wipe the quartz sleeve from any algae that might stuck, but bizarrely no algae or muck on quartz sleeve. Does the UV light prevent algae/muck sticking on the quarts sleeve glass???. The quarts sleeve is clean as whistle
Majestic AquariumsTV Hi, I am not sure about Aqua Nova UV, but I checked the SUNSUN and the inner glass that wraps the UV Bulb is somehow permanent with the plastic casing.
hi Paul, from your experience, is it true that the outer casing can produce black residue inside due to exposure of the UV light. Same as Joel Patrick Sarmiento, i have resun brand where quartz glass that wrap the UV bulb is actually embeded to the outer casing. I know aquanova brand can be pulled all apart as i have one as well for other tank, just worry about resun
Yes, thanks. I already found it as was out by the pond at night. Just wanted to say, i;m delighted with it, it works really well, and my pond is clear. I switch it on for a couple of hours each evening. Fantastic, i so much enjoy the pond and fish now.
i.e. you can buy a cheaper but bigger clarifier and run the water slower through them. sorted. The insides of clarifiers and sterilizers are no different. No need to serve them quarterly at all, change bulbs annually, also cleaning the sleeve.
Is it worth installing a UV Steriliser into a Fresh Water aquarium? I've never really been 100% on them, What do they do for the most part? Message me if you feel that is easier, I could REALLY use the information..

Hi,may i ask what flow pump will you put with this uv sterilizer 36w?
Thanx
Depending on tank but once per hour

get over 18w
aquarium have a smaller diameter

i have a serious algae problem to the point i have to clean the tank every 2 weeks , so i see this as a good solution
yes it is fine but I would also consider using ultimate aquacares phosphate reducer
thanks mate, also, i recently purchased one of these and set it up, but im unsure if i need a pump? will i need a pump to feed the sterilizer aswell? or can it just run on its own?

I suggest it after all other filtration
thankyou
b4 all filtration, if its a new filter leave it for a few weeks the use your uv
Debating whether to replace UV unit in reef tank, now that I'm using PolyFilter? Is it necessary?
no, but still a good idea

in a pond over time they do get dirty
the uv is to be place before or after the filter???
after
How do you clean the inside? I have one from SunSun but the inner glass is not removable.
Joel Patrick Sarmiento just pull it all a part and clean it with a rag
Majestic AquariumsTV Hi, I am not sure about Aqua Nova UV, but I checked the SUNSUN and the inner glass that wraps the UV Bulb is somehow permanent with the plastic casing.
If that is the case it is rubbish.
If you can't clean it, it is useless

Is there any difference in an expensive JBL uv steriliser and one at around £50/£80 if eBay ???
Hope there is....
How to know for sure?

Paul how much for the bigger one I need one
How do you tell if the globe light is working or not on these units.

It is worth it if you feel you have a risk of parasite problems.
Is it ok to use in planted tanks?
Hey Paul where can I purchase one of these uv sterilisers, I live in south oz,cheers mate...

how slow you need to run the 36w in a 400 L reef tank
500-1000l/h
@@MajesticAquariumsTV Oui! 500 L/H pour "tuer" les germes. 1000 L/H pour éliminer l'eau verte avec un minimum de germes.
So the 11 watts im looking at is no hood for a 65gallon???
+Gold Vulcan it is fine for algae control but I would not buy it for parasites. I would buy 18w or more
Ok im reading this first before I go back and price the 18 w but what if I got 2 and made the water loop thru both before returning to the system?
I would just get 18w plus
Yes it is fine
where are they on sale I can't find them.
I'm in the uk
were can i buy online?
www.majesticaquariums.com.au/lighting/other-lighting/nuv-36-uv-complete-unit-36w
