It's time to change that!

Inventors are the first to do something, innovators are the ones who take an already invented idea and improve on it.

@@davidatkinson5858 unless we are getting our definitions from two different dictionaries...lol You are wrong...The inventor is the first person to bring a concept to light. The innovator takes the concept and improves on the design. They are both great, but it arguably takes significantly more talent to be the first one to come up with something than it does to tweak the idea a little.

@@davidatkinson5858 Heres a good example: The guy who invented the first lightbulb. There were no light bulbs before he came up with the idea for the first one. As such, he invented it.....Conversly, the guy who came along and saw that lightbulb, examined it, and thought about using a different monophilliment inside to make it shine brighter, or last longer. He is the innovator, as he took an existing idea, and improved on it......He did not create the lightbulb, as that was the inventor. He simply improved on the inventors idea.

This makes me proud to have such great minds amongst us and improving our lives, and I'm white! I won't live to see racism end, but it's long overdue. As the old ad for black scholarships used to say "a mind is a terrible thing to waste." This world has so many problems to address, and we need all great minds and we need to foster them beginning at birth. United we stand, divided we fall.

I'm not sure that we weren't told about black inventors, I learned about George Washington Carver in school, it's just that a lot of these inventions aren't all that important, I never learned, or cared to learn who invented the cardboard box or the drywall screw.
Do you know what a nail pop is? I hung drywall and when the customer calls you back because all the nails pulled out of the drywall! Just because you don’t appreciate the so-called small things that were invented? Just appreciate it and move on pal!!!!!
