Just got mine in drop point sand color. The sand looks very nice to me, wish others used it. I really like it for a budget beater knife. No need to keep this one in the safe.
Thanks for doin this review, man. Tough to find many reviews out there for this. Ended up buying one of their goofy lookin clip point/bowie-looking ones 🤙
The model "name" is the Resurgence. There appears to be a number of handle colors and they are made in Drop point, Tanto or Clip point blade shapes in D2 steel. This Fishing version is made with the hi-viz orange handle and Aus 8 because it's stainless steel, as opposed to D2 being semi-stainless, and is better suited to wet stuff... Interesting seeing them branch deeper into the market, but they aren't exactly priced competitively with a ton of brands out there. I'm curious who's doing the OEM work on them...
Klein does call it the Resurgence on promotional materials but that name does not appear anywhere on the packaging nor on the knife itself. So nobody would know that name if bought off a store shelf. Odd.
@@lastbesttoolThat is strange... The designs aren't terrible, especially if priced well, so if the plan is to actually get into the space then they really ought to figure out that getting the right info out from the beginning is important. Keep up the good work, Doc!
I like Spyderco's for my cheapie knives. I like my Microtechs for the fun of playing with them. Lightning Elite is a damn good affordable OTF Microtech knockoff. I also like some ZT kinives.
Interesting knife. I will stick with my benchmades. Klein has some new areas. I saw they revived the VACO brand with a new line of value priced screwdrivers. They seem to be identical to the Klein versions but with a different handle (I picked up an 11 in 1). VACO used to be (and there are still some for sale) acetate versions of Klein drivers (comfordome or bull driver was what they were called).
Weird they didn't do something simpler like thumb studs or a flipper... at $50 AUS-8 or D2 is fine, but they should definitely try to take the steel up a notch.
I always wonder why people buy Benchmade and other pricey knives. Get something like this. I doubt you'll ever see a difference. I've had many knives cheap and expensive, and I always go back to Civivi. They're amazing knives for $30. When it breaks, buy a new one. They're cheap. I'm not even convinced they aren't as well made as Benchmade knives. Who's to say. I would even bet that you could put the Benchmark logo on this Klein knife and no one would be the wiser.
Benchmade isn’t even a pricey knife 😂 knives have come a long way in the past 10 years even. Modern blade steels make a hell of a difference compared to budget knife steels.
@@bigneek714 price is purely subjective. You and I may have completely different ideas of what "pricey" is. I agree that Benchmade knives aren't pricey in the grand scheme of life. I'm well off and have no problem spending a few hundred bucks whenever I choose, but the diminishing returns on Benchmade knives and other more expensive knife brands is astronomical in my experience. I likely have much more expendable income than you unless you're just mega rich, which I'm sure you'll tell me you are since this is a RUclips comments section. Just be careful with the words you choose to use when giving subjective opinions on things.
It’s definitely based on the Spiderco and Benchmade Bugout and cannot be beat for the price range. Great job Klein!

Odd, the Orange one shows D2 in the title but then lists AUS-8 as steel in the description. I'd prefer D2.
D2 won't hold up as well to rusting on a "fishing" knife. For non-wet applications I'd prefer the D2 as well.

That “hole” is very similar to the knife designer Mikkel Willumson’s signature style. Seen on SOG Prohen XR and SOG Stout FLK.

Thanks for the review and video brother. What was the fixed blade you were holding?

Probably a nod to pulling wire or fishing wire in a wall
The package says outdoors, and hunting and fishing is also noted. But I guess all three words could have wiring meaning.

What's that fixed blade called? Make and model please. Thanks a lot in advance!

Thanks!

Hello from Canada. Predator engines are the best
$50 for an AUS8 ? Meh.
Agreed. But at least they’re trying.
