I am convinced that most people who call themselves "Christian" know religion instead of Jesus Christ. Or they have created their own God in their head. That is why we must make sure that we know the God of the bible and know that we are truly saved.
Lay religion, Christian culture, and even politics aside. Someone who truly loves you is reaching out to you not willing that you should perish (2 Peter3), but that you be saved from the price of your sins.
With that said, how do you deal with your sin? Yes you. How many times have you lied, lusted, or stolen? I'm guilty, what about you? I hope you feel convicted.
But if you're going to reject the free gift of salvation, you ought to think about where you are going after death.
Is this your mindset?

“And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”
Please please do not be this person that Jesus described here. I don't care how if you are in a ministry or even behind a pulpit. And their is no shame in getting saved.

You see there will be professing Christians that were not actually saved.

Because of God's holiness we cannot be in his presence as we are in our sin. No matter how righteous one may appear everyone has sinned and one sin can lead to hell, but there is a way out. We don't deserve it but God made a way that we may become the righteousness of God (Romans 5). I want you to have 100% assurance of salvation.
Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I love you John so much I'm very depressed and drinking my life away at the moment and you're videos and lovely advice is helping me very so much xxx 😪🙂❤❤❤❤❤
Jesus loves you deeply ❤ Seek Him and accept Him with all your heart and He will clean up your entire life. My whole life was cleaned up in under a year when I was on the brink of suicide and its all because of Jesus. He got me out of the New Age/occult, addictions, healed my brain of trauma disorders and mental illnesses, depression, trauma triggers in my body, night terrors, learning disabilities, spared my life in a car accident, healed my body of anemia, changed my diet and gives me restful sleep, He even corrected my speech impediment JUST TO NAME VERY LITTLE of what He's done for me. And not only that, if you accept Christ you will go to Heaven for eternity after death.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." All you have to do is confess your sins to God, be willing to turn from them, (Jesus will help you because only He can defeat sin, put your trust in Him to resist temptations not yourself) and accept Him as your Lord and Savior

I like that, 'comforts along the way'. I've often thought that, that having a partner, friends or material things are all just things to make the journey more comfortable, enjoyable or easier. But essentially we are all here to awaken, become more conscious and let go of our ego identity. Maybe living a life without "comforts" excelerates this process? Like Eckhart Tolle would say, in order to awaken and become conscious we must go through suffering in order to let go of our ego identity.
That is a very interesting thought... However, with my personal lack of comforts along the way, it would then follow that I would be one very awake, conscious, & ego-less guru ☺️ Regrettably, i could not be further from attaining any of those glorious, peaceful states 😁

When you reach what it is you truly seek to attain, you've hit a pinnacle point and will inevitably stagnate as a result. Therefore, it is only in continuing to strive for the seemingly unattainable that we begin to improve ourselves, because we are invariably reminded to do better each and every day In order to have any chance in reaching that point so far from our reach.
Always a calming presence and message. Gives me meaning and guidance to my life. Thank you sir.

Dear John, I have a question for you please. Can I ask, when do you attend to yourself and when do you abandon yourself. For example, if your body was ill you attend to giving it care. But when you are sitting in bed ill, meditating, this requires self abandonment. I need you help to understand this better. My ego tries to drown me in emotions and thoughts, and I need your help.

I might be able to expound on this subject a bit, sorry if I am over stepping. Jesus tells us that we/people can only follow one of two paths truly, the way of the world or the Way of God. The way of the world (money, wealth, power, reinforcement of the personal self) is contrary to that of Nature, the Heart and the Oneness which Jesus is leading us towards.
As for women, he may reference relationships with them as an inferior attempt (our projections) to replace the connection with God. If John Butler was a woman, the roles may be reversed where men get seen as worldly. I know St. Paul suggested that we try to be without a spouse so that we can build our Relationship with God.

For ASMR purposes it absolutely needs editing. Too often John laughs too loud, and while it's great in person to be so jovial, it's not something you want to hear in ASMR. But his silence is really nice, as you say.

I am confused John by what is happening in my life and the world,the situation seems fraught the end of the existential way of living ,small world orders once governed by religion and monarchs now seems secular but religious role play is still in evidence ,the solution seems for me to be brutally honest with myself and risk thier antagonism, the world is in upheaval because we insist on a me vs you ,an us vs them a semi conscious small I entity view that is falsly righteous ,that is concerned about self and how to shore up defenses against attack ,graphically played out in the Ukrainian conflict, war will not end it all but qe must not shy away from criticism of such blinkered naturalistic egoic entity views of human reality ,God does not take sides but all around the pressure to dochotomise and polarize seems to exist ,evil is this inertia that makes it difficuilt or impossible to own our mistakes or to address these in others, as in pyschoanalysis which has been of great help but doesn't go far enough ,the human condition is fallen this we must admit and thus it must be transcended this is a spiritual fact isn't it ?

I am convinced that most people who call themselves "Christian" know religion instead of Jesus Christ. Or they have created their own God in their head. That is why we must make sure that we know the God of the bible and know that we are truly saved.
Lay religion, Christian culture, and even politics aside. Someone who truly loves you is reaching out to you not willing that you should perish (2 Peter3), but that you be saved from the price of your sins.
With that said, how do you deal with your sin? Yes you. How many times have you lied, lusted, or stolen? I'm guilty, what about you? I hope you feel convicted.
But if you're going to reject the free gift of salvation, you ought to think about where you are going after death.
