🔴 Is the Hoka Speedgoat 5 better than the Speedgoat 4? ruclips.net/video/D9eMjTI7NNA/видео.html The Ultimate Trail Shoe Revolution: Mizuno Wave Mujin 9 Unleashed! ruclips.net/video/fUTgty7FnQ8/видео.html
I have seen your videos on the Speedgoat 4. I am glad you analyze this shoe so thouroughly. I am getting ready for my first ultra 50 K. I have the Speedgoat 4. I am testing it against other shoes like Fuji lite 2, which is lighter. And also against a cushioned but pretty rough road cruiser like the Vomero 16. I do the same routs. The Speedgoat has better statistics now (pace, heartrate) in similar efforts on hilly gravel, trail and road. It is especially forgiving and faster at similar efforts on downhill. It holds my road marathon pace with ease on asphalt.
Thanks for the follow up but I’m not convinced…….I think I’ll stick with the Mafate for the time being, they are holding up way better than the sg4 did. Cheers.
Great review, really enjoyed how you compared the SG4 and SG5, as a wider foot person who enjoyed foot splay to a point. Hopefully the SG5 can give me this feeling, as I do enjoy the Zinal and. Tecton X for shorter faster efforts and the Mafata for long efforts, “just the break in period for Mafata’s. 🥴 take care and have a great day…
Did you run into any ankle rubbing issues with the SG5 or SG4? I used the SG5 for a 6 mile run and the lateral sides kept rubbing against my ankle on downhills and side to side movement. Just wondering if this is something that’s part of a normal shoe break-in or if I’m locking the shoe down too much. I did go a half size up as a 10.5 was snug.
i wonder if SG4 would be more suitable for wet conditions or mild winter like we have in NZ or in Australia. i would think that having more breathability in SG5 it looses its water repellency over SG4.

That creek looked very refreshing. It's almost like I could feel that cold water.
Man did it feel good!!
This is exactly the review I was looking for! Thanks for such a thorough video!
Very welcome!!

Great comparison! I'll get them both when they're outdated! 😆

You too!! The SG4 and 5 have more room than the Zinal…
I used the insoles from the 4's in the 5's and it made the shoe so much more comfy. I don't know why they cut corners there.
Agree. I was surprised when I pulled out the insole from the 5. Looks so tiny and flimsy. Will try my next run with the insole of my EVO speedgoat

I have heard other have it, but I never did....

I think I would like the SG4… That’s why I bought a second pair
So if you had a 100 mile ultra in the hills of VA/KY, and you had to wear one shoe the whole time. 4 or 5?
I would wear either, but I have hundreds of miles in the 4 and it has proved itself…so the 4 would probably be my choice right now
5 for me. They are more cushiony.
Did the 5 upper give/feel unstable going downhill?
No, I love them both and am pretty used to the stack height…no instability at all to me.
@@motivationtheoryrunning I’m sorry, I meant specifically the mesh upper, I’ve heard a few reviewers mention that it gives a lot downhill.
