A Gracious appeal to Repent and a Warning from Israel’s History Zechariah 1:1-6

v. 1 "In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Zechariah"
vv. 2-3 a gracious appeal to repent
vv. 4-6 warning from Israel’s History - the past generations who went into exile because of their disobedience serve as a warning . . . you’re doing the same thing now!!!
Five principles:
1. The condition of all God’s blessings, v. 3.
2. The evil and peril of disobedience, v. 4.
3. The unchangeable character of God’s Word, v. 6a.
4. God’s governmental dealings in accordance with their deeds, v. 6b (“in accordance with our ways and our deeds”).
5. God’s immutable purposes, v. 6b (“As the LORD of hosts purposed to do . . . so He has dealt with us").
