- Hi guys. Sorry I doubled up on some footage. but not much .
On this episode I'll be going through what's been going on in the tank.
Weed growth, Feeding the Goby's, and the Blenny some flake food.
Also feeding Phytoplankton to the tank for the bivalves to feed on.
wow beautiful ecosystem, this deserves to go viral
That would be nice 😀👍
I was just going to mention about feeding the plants. Then you mentioned about not having a skimmer and testing for nitrates etc. This tank is so interesting and fun. We should do more of these in the UK.
Another great video mate 👍 could watch this tank for an hour haha
Cheers mate. I just uploaded a 6 min video of the tank to music.
@@MARKSAQUATICS watching it now 🔥
I was originally disappointed when you said you were going to start doing more saltwater set ups, but I’m here to say I’m glad did. Your skill and enthusiasm in this hobby is brilliant! Makes me want to replicate one of the Rockport Massachusetts tidal pools of my youth.
Thanks for sticking with me. Lots more exciting trips planned.
The one thing i would say is a skimmer would add a lot more oxygen to the water which would help in a coldwater tank. Your seaweed is gonna be eating all the nutrients no matter what you do. So cool to see a nice saltwater tank. Would love to see a big system with a cuckoo wrasse which are stunning.
A top guy, sharing top knowledge the world needs more people like you Mark. This series is absoloutly amazing I could sit and watch this tank all day! You'll have to buy the wife something nice to get that big tank ;)
Another amazing video. Can’t believe how it’s matured so well in such a short Soave of time. Look forward to each update.
I love the Blenny you have
love this tank I could watch it all day long
I have to say Mark that looks bloody amazing. I never thought our local wildlife could look so good in a tank. You nailed it pal. 👏👏👏🏴💚❤🐠
I'm in that small group of reefers who like more the natural look of a reef tank like this one than a generic one with fluorescent colors.
Mark you have created a spot of magic with this tank the inhabitants are great to watch and the scape you have made is of Oliver Knott and George Farmer standard you should be dead proud of yourself.. it’s truly beautiful the colours really pop🏆👏👏
I’ve been wanting to do the same thing for a couple of years now as I live 5 mins from the beach in Dorset I will definitely be having a go after watching your vids
Love this channel
This aquarium is awesome 😍.
Greetings from Italy .
Hi lorenzo 😀👍
I am watching this 7 months after you posted this mark and I hope theres 7 ft tank in your living room lol and the wife said yes
What a nice tank, never seen something like it
Absolutely love this tank, its more interesting than a reef tank... the colours and life..
Yes, another update. Love it.
You are teasing us now talking about the bigger tank. Really hope your wife goes for it. Good luck Mark.
They are all such characters! Hope you get the all clear for the larger tank, but I think there needs to be one partner that hasn’t got MTS to keep things in balance! 🤣. Maybe you could build a tank that has a table top on it, I think a chain of opticians had something like that some years ago now in their shops!
Enjoying this rock pool, thank you
Thanks for watching Glenda.
Mark, this is one of the best series you've done in a while and I eagerly look forward to every episode. Crossing my fingers for the 8 foot living room tank!
8 foot would be awesome. Thanks for watching.
I remember crab hunting when I was younger at the caravan in Ballywalter, Northern Ireland. The wee goby’s were everywhere and see the blood sucker we called them it basically looks like the inside of an ass 😂
this tank is one of the best saltwater tanks I’ve seen. No joke it’s literally like you took a square piece of life and stuck it in your tank. It’s unbelievable
Mark this is something special! I think it may be the best thing you’ve ever done! Please get some Uk salty pages to show this 😍 Awesome!
Thanks for watching Jacob 😀👍
wow i just cant get enough. cheers.
Really enjoying this series and trying (/failing) to resist the urge to take some buckets to the beach! Amazing!
Haha that greedy little hermit was straight after the flakes. Aww I love hermit crabs (but only in their shells, otherwise they look like massive lice or something foul haha)
Another blinding vid bruv.
Yours is the only channel that I have the notification bell set on.
Can't wait for the 7ft version.
Good luck with the missus 🤣.
🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Amazing ecosystem! Keeping it coming Mark.! Hope the missus says yes to the 7-8 foot setup....... it will be epic!!
i like the setup its natural for where live and it isnt even far away
Great job Mark, love the nature you create in your home
Fantastic job I have a Mediterranean aquarium we have very similar inverts and algae
Gorgeous. So fascinating & comical too!
Fantastic update every thing has settled in well
Incredible knowledge/experience sharing! Tank looks amazing. Found your channel today, it’s brilliant. I was on the cusp of sorting a new reef tank, but this looks so much more interesting and natural. Your passion is addictive. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching Gary 😀👍
@@MARKSAQUATICS I live literally 1min away from rock pools in Weymouth! You’ve opened a whole new world. Cheers
Great stuff Mark! Could do a freshwater native tank with stickleback, minnows gudgeon ect.
All best 👍
Yes you can. Go in my playlists and look at the paludarium I built. I had a sorts of uk fish in there.
thats an amazing aquarium you have, very interesting to be able to observe all that wildlife. Thanks a lot for sharing!
Thanks for watching Andy.
That hermit with the whelk on top! I love it!
creatures that experience differences in temperature, pressure, salinity (in this case) during the year are very hardy and highly adaptable. As you properly pointed out the main thing is keeping the temperature low, that's the challenge! your tank is amazing , nice to see everybody is eating and doing alight !
Crackin tank stunning with the weed and anomies , i set up a similar tank a few years back but didnt use the weed and anomies so was not as spectacular , get a butterfish or small flatfish i had a couple of plaice and released them when too big for tank
Beautiful tank!
With rock pools thats what I have always said about ppm in the water when evaporation and how do they survive when it gets so low the water in rock pools its amazing how nature's work but a great video Mark a good look how a rock pool works nice and what lives In one
Love seeing this come together
Great way for someone on the other side of the planet to experience the local wildlife. Love it what a wonderful build. I never did notice how large of a tank ya got there?
Hi. Thanks for watching. The aquarium is 2 feet square. 😀👍
That's stunning Mark. Absolutely fantastic job
Wow looks absolutely amazing Mark! However I think you put the same clip in at 22:00 and 1:30. Hate to be that guy but I thought I might as well tell you about it :)
No problem. I wrote in the comments section I'd doubled up on a bit of footage.
Fabulous. Those shrimp look to be growing.
They've moulted since being in the tank
what a difrence with the dutch northsea
Echt he
Beautiful. Love the updates! Thanks so much.
stunning ecosystem
Hi mark greetings from the emerald isle. Just wondering if you harvested the plants from the sea also? cause if they're available where you are, well more than likely they're available where i am and i aint far from the sea. Thanks
Fantastic. This is great.
one of my dream setups
Great stuff!
Loving this, subscribed. Would be awesome to see this in an 8 foot tank!
Thank you for watching and subscribing. 8ft in the pipeline. 😀👍
This is amazing 👏
Brilliant tank! What light do you use? Ive kept some successful rockpool tanks but never had much luck keeping the weeds alive!
Great aquarium 👍🏼
Amazing work
Great stuff Mark
Hi awesome video, i have similar native marine setup with chiller temperature control. Always failed on seaweed growing and wonder do you have any success? what light do you use on your aquarium? Thanks in advance
Mark you should put a mermaids purse in there and have live Cam on it so we can watch it hatch!
Yes was thinking of doing that. Just got to wait for some big tides to find one. 😀👍
This tank looks more stunning than any Red Sea aquarium I have ever seen. I really hope this catches on.
What temperature are you keeping this tank at?
Is it possible to make this a long term tank or just set up for a few months before returning them to
the wild?
This is the first time I've kept a native marine aquarium for a full year so it'll be interesting to see how it unfolds.
would be cool to see a little crab to :)
im loving this tank
Hi Mark, not long come across your channel, really good vids, i am sure many have asked this question, but do you need a chiller for a "UK" marine tank, I already have a marine tank a few soft corals and so on, i would like to give this kind a bash but don't have the cash for a chiller, I assume room temp water will not do?
Hi. In my opinion yes. If you go in to my playlists the whole series is on there from start to present. 😀👍
Love it!
I think this tank look a lot more like a fresh water tank than a reef tank, I mean obviously you have things like anemones and stuff but this seems simpler on the water parameters side but maybe I'm wrong idk
FANTASTIC 👍👍👍👍
Anyone else see the shrimp jump up and get the flake.
my man this is really awesome.. im seriously into getting something like this done.. I would like to start right now but what is beautiful to me is that its all about patience...
is there a email i can message you to or how can i learn more?
Hi Don. If you go to my playlists all the videos on this series are in a folder ok. Thanks for watching.
@@MARKSAQUATICS im loving it.. i dont want to scare you but you have very nice content... i always wanted 2 do something like this but its belief for it to be to expensive.. i will dive in to it slowly.. first i will try to get me a chiller from offer up.. I live in los angeles
mark have you ever had white spot in your native aquarium
Enjoying
Defo do a huge rock pool tank inside. Buy your wife some flowers or something 🤣
I'm on it! 😉👍
Love this ❤❤
Will you put a shorecrab in there?
Or are they too agressive?
Shore crabs are aggressive and will pull weed of the rocks and mess the tank up.
Nice
What does it look like at night under purple and blues?
Great!
With the gobys will they breed in your tank
I'm hoping they will. There's no reason why they shouldn't lots of weed and caves in amongst the rock work.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It needs a welsh flag as background
can pipe fish work in a set up like this
They will but its the diet that's difficult. Freshly hatched brine shrimp would be a good substitute. I think I'll get a pair.
Your australien cooool
nature freaks i have 3 aquariums 2 shrimp tanks 2 difrent ones and one 180 liter fish and snails and armanos its realy nice to have an good running bio in the tank its all it needs
Ok...no comments from me this time .
You always comment? 😊
copper meds will kill. copper pipes won't.
