Wow, these pontoon boats have come a long way. When I was a kid, I thought of them as a old person boat, with a tiny outboard, used to put-put around a landlocked, small pond. Today, they are a high thrill launchpad to aqua-fun.
Excellent advise, don't give up on the standard pontoons! I love my Godfrey bi-toon with 25" logs and 90hp yamaha outboard with "scuffers", I believe they are called! Anyway, it is a great boat and handles big water okay. Also, I have found lysol wipes work well for cleaning any feedback on their use would be appreciated!
What do you recommend with a 23 ft pontoon with a 115 on it? That's kinda of the either or point. Was thinking of adding a third log to my 23 ft. Sylvan.
I have a 24ft pontoon boat that has a 115 max hp rating. I'm putting a center toon on it for handling and to increase the hp. I have a 150hp motor to put on it so how do I change the max hp sticker.
I'm torn about this, I'd love a pontoon or tritoon but the large river where I want to use it occasionally gets fairly big rolling swells (2' to 3' typically but sometimes 4') out in the channel where there's freighter traffic. I'd hate to do a nosedive into a wave.
Thanks for the video, I have 20' pontoon where I'm adding more weight so the boat, motor, people, etc weighs about 2500 lbs but I only have 21" diameter since its a 1990 Bass Buggy. Is adding a 3rd pontoon log better then buying two 25" pontoon logs?
@@boatinglessons it only has a 60 horsepower so I've decided to buy another pontoon that has 25 inch tunes and a 115 hp that way if I do add a third I'll have enough horsepower to move the boat out of the water.
I’m new to boating, a customer of mine had a 1995 jc 226 tritoon in their yard and I asked how long has it been sitting, they said 5 years since it’s seen the water, their grandkids are all grown and it just doesn’t get used, them being the sweetest old couple and not much on material wealth as much as enjoying helping others (knowing I have 5 young kids) told me to take it😳 trailer and all, 150 Honda on the back that was installed in 2006. So I know I got it for the right price lol, it needs a new canopy top and interior upholstery, I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find any place to just order replacement jc 226 stuff, does anyone know a site that I should be looking at?? Thanks in advance
Would like to have more "hard to find" information on this type of vessel . Considering a fishing platform for big water and waves on the great lakes. Is that out of the question for a tri-toon ?

wow, Great video. You answered my questions regarding whether I should get a Pontoon or Tritoon! Just a suggestion, you should put your companies address and phone number in your videos somewhere!
Tri Toons are better for bigger bodies of water that have heavy traffic. Double pontoons, IMO, are great for smaller lakes that don't generate rough water conditions. The tri toon can skip across big stuff that the double just can't do. The tri toon has a better engine mounting location, and most manufacturers now put the fuel tank in the center pontoon as well. Helps to keep the weight centered. All pontoon boats can greatly benefit from skin covering the bottom of the deck to reduce friction from the frame, and lifting strakes generate lift, which reduces drag and increases acceleration.
Which do you prefer, 2 or 3 toons?

No comparison....3 all the way......3 makes it a completely different boat.

100% Doug!
Starting to see a lot of tri-tunes with $100g+ price tags out on the lake. I have just as much fun with my little $20g 2 logs.

We had a 24ft dual pontoons with a Honda 90 on it and very pleased with it.
Great video! Love the interior of the newer models!

Do you have a recomdation for logs in Thailand. Interested in building one
I am sorry I don’t
Pontoon boats hold their value better than anything these days. If taken care of. The market for used pontoon boats is very strong.
Looking at the Tracker 22 dlx with a 150hp , are you saying that's a bad combo?
In our opinion you will never be disappointed with a tri-toon 22’ with a 150
thanks, very informative...

Random Person you have to speed up a little bit. get it on plane then you have no problem
So what if it does? Suck it up buttercup
if No Acid cleaners on Toons, what are you recommending then?
Soap and water
Love the videos, where is the downloadable resource to help make the decision? :)
My fault, sorry. I had the best intentions to do it. I will get it done soon.

That is a really good question! What horsepower are you running or planning on?

Hydrofin builds hydro foils for your pontoon boat that will make your boat 30-40% faster more fuel efficient.
Buy a 2 logger and add foils.

Good stuff but...why do so many video's spend the first third explaining what the video will be about!!??
Mark. We'd rather people understand up as there may be one thing they are looking for and then know it is coming up later in the video.
Another con of tritoon is you may need a bigger vehicle to tow it. Another consideration.
Absolutely true David! Thank you for adding to the conversation.
If you need a bigger tow vehicle to pull a Tritoon you didn’t have enough vehicle to start with....
I am thinking 🤔 three tunes more weight = more motor to move it = more gas (4.20 per gallon on the water) I will stick with two tunes .
Two tunes push more water, engine needs to work harder
I have a 20’ tri with a 115 I have no issues at all easy to load and unload . I can easily push 25 at 5000 rpm all day . Sweet ride we really enjoy it
Ohh and I use my Toyota Tacoma v6 to move it as well no issues
Race RACE!
Are you a pontoon boat owner Garret?
My wife wanted a tracker pontoon. We ended up with a 20’ fishing boat 😂
Should’ve listened to your wife
👍👍
I misread that as Double Trouble vs Triple lube. My bad.
Different channel I think 🤣
i loved this daddy uhhh
What is a pontoonboat. Lol Canoon
This should be a video called for those who have no common sense.
Over 2 minutes of wasted time. Just cover the topic.
