She wasn’t mourning Nan, each witch was practicing their specific talents.Queenie has a talent for communicating with the afterlife. She was trying to find out what happened. They didn’t find out til season 8

Coven was already such an amazing season, but the fact that they included Stevie Nicks on top of it?! That made it legendary!

Stevie Nicks has always been called a witch in the past and that her song are implicit references to witchcraft, which she denies. Her appearing in Coven where it is revealed she actually is a witch is a reference to that.
I love this season one of my favorites but this in particular is a great intro to the season finale

seriously tho the fuck went so bad with apocalypse. the first 4 episodes were so strong and some of the most atmospheric the show has done in the post coven era. but everything after that was just suffering to watch through.

The week Coven was released Fleetwood Mac were live in London. My wife and I couldn't get tickets so went to see a tribute group called Rumours of Fleetwood Mac. They were often a support group for FM and made reference to AHS, I watched it after this and was hooked!

@@paulfong5902 the love witch is probably the most accurate witchcraft we have in media representation and its still HIGHLY unrealistic and misrepresentation. I wish witchcraft has actual good representation in media instead of using it as a clique "superpower devil worshipers". But I'm sure real witchcraft is "too boring" for audiences sigh such a shame
I hate that apocalypse basically invalidated cordelia's supremacy by making it short.
? -- but it didn't. That future wherein Cordelia's supremacy was relatively shortened (so as to allow a younger, more powerful witch/supreme to rise) was negated. Cordelia is still the Supreme and can be so (from a 2020 POV, timeline-wise) for some years to come. (A misperception that some viewers have is that the events of Coven were in any way, shape or form "normal" or how things "usually work" vis-a-vis the witches... _it isn't_ . Most Supremes aren't so for very long periods; both Anna Leigh and especially Fiona were exceptions (Anna Leigh having become the Supreme in 1940 at just the age of 29 -- the youngest Supreme to date at that point -- and then started fading 30 years later in 1970 (which "should" have taken place over several+ years) only to be murdered by Fiona in 1971, who then in turn remained a Supreme for an unprecedented 40+ years due to taking the Supremacy too early.) Most Supremes would only be so for roughly 20 or so years, 30 on the outside (as they usually begin to burn-out mystically by the time they're in their 60s), so by 2023 (which is technically where the witches will pick up, timeline-wise, relative to ongoing events) Cordelia is about half-way through her tenure and should be looking for her replacement to begin training her and assuring that she's as prepared as possible. (That the next Supreme is already here and aware of at least certain aspects of the potential future is a side element/sub-plot, and not directly germane to Cordelia's time as Supreme in-and-of-itself -- it just makes things easier for Cordelia because she doesn't have to try to seek out her replacement because she's already here and half-way to being the next Supreme already... ;) )

I'm not a massive AHS fan but this was by way and far my favorite season and objectively speaking I believe this was one of the most iconic scenes in television history.
Coven was a totally new experience for me. Every bit of it hit my soul in a way I cannot explain. I loved murder house but holy hell coven was amazing

Are you referring to this particular scene or the whole third season? If it's the latter, mind if I ask why?
I don't mean to knock your enjoyment of 3, just genuinely looking to gain someone else's insight. At first I really disliked Coven (especially after coming after the high of seasons 1 & 2 which I still think have a tighter focus and more intimate stakes). To me, it was disappointing to see all of these female character being played against each other for the shallowest, most predictable reasons (fighting over guys, jostling for power, it was so much expected high school/soap opera bullshit) rather than actually elevating each other the way a "coven" is supposed to. Only Queenie had a real arc as far as the girls were concerned. So I ask again, with sincere curiosity, if you could share what was it about the season that you found intriguing in the moment while it was still going on?
I will admit that later I was able to reevaluate it and understand that it had redeeming values I didn't recognize, and certainly plenty of memorable moments. It was just at the time I felt the whole wasn't stronger than the sum of it's parts. One of the (few) good things about Apocalypse was seeing the witches working together as a well-organized unit and fulfilling the promise of what Coven was (in my mind) supposed to be.

The Coven is my favorite. Stevie being on it made it even better! I couldn't get into Apocalypse. I tried several times. Once again Stevie came to the rescue.
