UN-BE-LIEVABLE!!! CHIIIIILD!!! I can't thank you ENOUGH!!! I have been a professional artist for 30 freakin' YEARS and am just beginning my LAST major venture before saying ENOUGH! LOL I've worked with many, many, many young artists in my years and I've enjoyed y'all SO much because that's where the NEW ideas, the fresh thinking comes from, and you just proved it again...good onya! And thank you, thank you, thank you...I look forward to seeing all you do going forward...Blessings...Steph in Dundas, Ontario
Omg thank you!! Stay wet palettes are also amazing for keeping your paints fresh for longer too!
I hope more artists see this! This tip is so underrated thank you so much!
Thank you!
@@RubysArtsyLife thank you so much for sharing that’s an awesome tip I’ll definitely be passing that along to my aunt to paint with acrylic all the time plus he saved me a lot of time from having to mix up new paint colours for my paint by numbers!!!
I think the acetone is breaking down the binding ingredients of the acrylic paint, so basically you have acetone with pigments. Not really acrylic paint anymore and will ruin/lessen the life of your artworks. Awesome tip for cleaning palettes though
I agree! Would not recommend using this technique with an important piece of art but great for just playing around in a Sketchbook
Do you know of anything that will rehydrate dried up acrylics?? I have the small pots & one is 100% dried up 😢
Which liquid is this
Acetone
@@beverlytipton9037according to another short I watched, they said to use 9 parts distilled water; 1 part "retardant" - I'm assuming a product made for acrylics that slows the drying process; and a few drops of ammonia. But he said this mixture only works if the paint is NOT 100% dry. However, IMO, it's worth a try. You can't really damage it any more.
Tanjiro's earrings 😍
Oh excellent. Thank you. Acetone who would have thought. I have some dried up paint that I need for a paint by numbers.
You’re a G!! Thank you for sharing from somebody who just started seriously painting :,)
Yes it's very helpful but it's best to use a stay wet palette since it retains better texture on the paint
😮wow & I just happen to have some of that remover. & It's my first time using Acrylics . Usually use oil. Thanks
Nice!!
yo thanks so much I was looking for a video and you apperd ❤❤
Omg im gonna try that !!
I’ve tried so many different liquids and this one works the best!!
Im not entirely sure if thats safe? But also, be careful of your brushes, because im not entirely sure if acetone will dissolve plastic bristles?
I tested them with the nylon brushes, since it’s a different type of plastic it does not dissolve that type of plastic. It’s due to the binders they use in acrylic paint similar to nail polish. But don’t get it in your ferral because it will dissolve glue
Thank you. This is a very useful tip=)
Omg thank you 😲
Earnings from demonslayer 🔥
Btw no one is talking about the earrings it's of Tanjiro Kamado of Demon Slayer anime!!
Ahh I know I love that show!
@@RubysArtsyLife 💖
I wonder if that change the quality 🤔(it's light fastness, etc)?
That’s a really good question! I wonder too. If the color pigments are high quality I would hope it doesn’t effect it. Maybe it’s time for another experiment
Tanjiro earringggsss❤❤❤
Thanks!
Thank you!!
Thank you❤
I love your earrings!!
Same
Same! Where did you get them?
I got them at a mall in a store called 7 imports
Thank you for the tip!
Awww thank you! I appreciate all the support
I am sorry, something weird happened with my youtube. I left this comment on another video, and on this I commented "thank you for the tip" but somehow these comments got mixed up. So that comment is here now? Must have been confusing to read since it seems very unrelated. I'll edit the comment to what it was supposed to be.
I love your earrings 😍💓
Thank you!
oo thank you!
thx !!❤❤❤❤
Idk if that will be useful. I like my paints really opaque so I’d rather just mix more and put it on a wet palette 😅
I agree! A wet palette is the best way to store them
God your earrings 🥹❤️
Plus thankyou for this video 🫶🏻
Tanjiro (demon slayer) earings. Did you notice??
Thank you! They are one of my favorite earrings
Thanku so much 😊🥰
💙🔷️💙🔷️💙Thx so much for youre tips!!!🔷️💙🔷️💙
Her : explaining how to revive acrylic pants
Me: what the are ARE THOSE TANJORO'S EARRINGS!
Yes they are!!
@@RubysArtsyLife can I get a pair like those?🤣
@ShanzayKhan-lc7gi I'm sure you can get them on etsy! I got mine at a store called 7 imports. Maybe I should try making some jewelry from my favorite anime.
Hey I really really reallyyyyyyyy appreciate that you gave me a very quick reply and thank you very much for the details of the shop I really appreciate that an amazing artist like you is replying to me this fast thanks but unfortunately I live in Pakistan (a country near India) so I can't get the earrings but I appreciate that you are giving a random person like me those details thank you once again 🥰😊
@ShanzayKhan-lc7gi no I understand! This seller ships world wide and they make the tanjiro earings! You can get them here for sure this is the link to their Etsy store

OMG I LOVE UR TANJIRO~KUN EARRINGS!!❤
Thank you! They are my favorite earrings
Can you also use water to rehydrate the paints?
No unfortunately you cannot use water to rehydrate dried acrylic paint because of the plastics in acrylic. Water just isn’t strong enough to break down those plastics, and acrylic is waterproof once dried.
@@RubysArtsyLife what about alcohol?
@vstgold1411 alcohol may work but it may take a lot longer to break down the plastic if it can at all. You can get acetone at the dollar store to break it down. Acetone or nail polish remover is built with breaking down paint in mind.
@@RubysArtsyLife okay, thanks
Everyone - Nice idea ❤
Me - Seeing tanjiro 's earings 😂
But tanjiro's hanafuda earrings 😭💕
Thank you I got them on Etsy!
😍😍😍
Hahaha..i am using this but never ever made a video. Thanks
It's such a neat trick!
HAVE THE SAME PALLETE!
Does any acetone wk?? Flow aid is what many suggest.. I do a lot of paint by number and sometimes the paint is horrible… any advice is welcome uuy
I use 100% acetone from the dollar tree and it works just fine. I just use cheaper brushes the thoroughly rehydrant and dissolve the paint. Start with a few drops to hydrate the dried acrylic and break it back down to liquid. Then I use a dropper tool to add more until it the right consistency
@@RubysArtsyLife I tried w/100 acetone and no bueno.. maybe it was my paint? Anyway, I put it straight a few drops at a time, did not work then I tried diluting.. I was gonna end up with no paint, so I just stopped ..was so frustrated, I broke down and got flo-aid.. was getting ready to try it, but now I have a new problem... I think I overstretched my canvas.. anyway, thank you for sharing that great idea. Even though it did not work for me, I’m sure it’s helped a lot of people..
@maddmunkee2 I'm sorry it didn't work out! But what acrylic paint brand was it? Also I've never heard of flow aid maybe I ought to try it too!
Would acetone from the hardware store work just as well? It’s much less expensive than nail polish remover.
Honestly I do not know, but I’m doing a video this week on another question asked. I will buy some and see
I went to the hardware store and looked at the acetone. It will work the same. I suggest putting a few drops on to let it soak and hydrate almost like reactivating dried gouache then mis it in with a palette knife
This didn’t work for me😢 Turned my paint into like a weird gummy rubber
You have to add more to being it to your desired texture
Dried glass colors, i dont want to trow them, what is the solution? Please Help
What brand of glass colors do you have?
@@RubysArtsyLife pebeo
I’m going to purchase some of that paint and run some test and see what I can do
I don't want you to purchase any please, i thought you could give me an opinion and I'll try it.
Thanks for your kindness, i appreciate it! Please don't bother. Did any of your glass colors dried and you used something to melt them again!?
I don’t have any glass paint but you can try acetone/nail polish remover to break it down and add water to reuse them. Hand sanitizer worked great at melting down and then adding water to my liquid acrylics.
Yes but it damages your brushes
Can i use nailpolish remover ??
Depends on the nail polish remover. Acetone is what breaks acrylic down. Just make sure you are careful with your brushes.
Her earrings 👿🇯🇵💀
Nice hanafuda
What is it called pls my mask is messed up and the paint I used is dried up😭
I show and tell you the product in the video
@@RubysArtsyLifeoh sorry I’m stupid
@Yk_luna_therian you aren’t stupid! Probabaly just missed it! I hope it helps with fixing your mask!
@@RubysArtsyLifety wait nail polish remover? I’m not sure if it’s going to work for me but I’ll give it a try
@Yk_luna_therian yeah just make sure it’s the acetone 100% it has worked with all the acrylics I have tested, just drop a few drops and start mixing it takes a bit of time to break down the paint depending on how thick it is just keep adding more drops until it’s at the thickness you want or until it comes off the mask
Pretty earrings
Thank you!
Just had some mouthwash
oh
Lovely hanafuda earrings, too bad muzan will now want your head.
This is the 100th comment!!!
Omg!!! THATS AMAZING! The most comments on a video I've ever gotten I think!
Apparently I have the same pallete
Dish soap I’m guessing
No I use something stronger
I just use paint thinner
Me : tanjiro earings 😮
But just a warning if your paint palace made out of plastic it will eat away at it slowly
Doesn’t work on all paint turn some painting to gluey latex ball instead!!
The tanjiro earinhs
Paint very thin
That thickness of paint that comes after applying this trick is not what real acrylic paint looks like. It looks very watery and tbh not even worth it.
Yeah it definitely works more like watercolors but the acrylic paint I was using was arteza which was pretty transparent to begin with
tanjiro's earrings
They are my favorite!
I heard you can also try activate it with water too :3
Water doesn’t work on dried acrylic because it has plastics in it which makes it waterproof
Tanjiros earings
Yeah! They are my favorite
It’s the acetone in the nail polish remover that’s breaking down the paints , don’t do this 😂
Nail paint remover works? 🤣 wait a minute...
Hanfuda
Fake😢
I used the chalkola acrylic paint in this experiment
