Not all Ports are going to have ships for sale. most of the ports that are never really used will not have anything but a basic cutter. you need to go to major ports like crafting ports and Free towns.
I took my basic cutter out and attacked an NPC snow. it is actually a long process and not easy for people who do not know what they are doing. it took about an hour as well so dont feel bad.
@@ernestnovakhov it would be faster and easier to just buy or have someone hand you a SNOW 6th rate and use it to de crew and board everything. using a basic cutter would drive you mad after awhile. if you have no money go do cargo delivery or passenger delivery to get a little cash.
@@Rook2299 I bought a trade snow 6th rate but I only got like 250k so it'll set me back another 50k if I lose it. How do I avoid people for now as best as possible any tips?
@@ernestnovakhov First question. What kind of wood is the ship? Second thing. Snows are super hard to catch. They have an insane turn radius, good speed, and cannons on all sides. What you want to do is to use your chainshot to shoot out the sails as best as you can. Use ball shot to try and shoot out one of the masts. And take out the stern and what ever broadside you'd like to take (unless you are still in a cutter, in which case, only stern.) Once that's done, load grape shot and either stern rake, quarter rake, or broadside to broadside. Third. Trading and trade ships will be your friend. Capturing a trade snow or trade brig is easy since they only have 60 crew (same crew as a privateer or pickle, which would also be good starters.) And always try going with the wind to escape. And if you are ambitious and willing to tango, a La Gros Ventre ship will be a massive ship you'd need to capture. They often carry very good wood to build ships out of, and two of 3 we caught, had 1k doubloons each. And if you wanna try trading, these ships will help with that... just try going for the faster ones exclusively. Finally, with boarding, some things you should note. 1. Brace replenishes Prep. 2.Fire deck guns takes out the most of the crew. 3. Try not to go 3.5 knots or lower when next to an enemy vessel that has a bigger crew. They WILL try to board. And finally... dont bring a 5th rate or higher to an enemy capital. Trust me, it isnt pretty, it's like being thanos'd.
This game looks cool but I already see some things that piss me off. 1. I don't like how when you are going from place to place they have your ship speed boating over the water at 500 mph like a future fantasy speedboat as it ruins the immersion (the journey should be part of the adventure) I don't like how the battles are changed screen it should be open and live so you can have epic chases across the world ...maybe set course to sail into a storm you see you brewing in the distance daring your attackers to follow you... The game has good bones but I see problems.
yeah.... no one would ever play this game if it took that long to sail across open world. as if most of the game is not already 70% sailing around for nothing. the rest is Trading, Crafting and maybe some fighting. play the game and you will know what i speak of.
great video--very helpful for noob captains like me!
Brilliant...did the UI, but where is the outpost info
Really good videos thank you
Question, if you win a fight how do you take the ship if it is better then the one you have?
You have to capture the ship during the fight. If the ship is sinking and it says battle over, that means the ship is sunk and you cannot take it.
Everywhere I open the "Ships Auction" window, there are no ships for sale.

Which port u think have the most NPC traders aside from KPR?
Hard to say. Definitely capital ports. Not out of the way back water ports
Am I just bad or does it really take 1 hour and 15min to do 1 battle in basic cutter 1v2 against npc that's how long it took me lol
