Hey, I’m 75 yrs old, from Missouri. I have been watching you for a few years . I first notice you when you were making 4 door 57 Chevys into 2 door hard tops. I must say I have enjoyed your work and I love that you don’t have to have everything show quality. You like it as a driver. There is so much to be said for that. I would not feel comfortable driving a show a car every day and every where I go, knowing you are making it not perfect by driving it, so I say why have car that it’s to perfect to drive.
Hang in there, you make it look like fun, I know that it’s not alway fun but a lot of use out here are in your shop with you and we are enjoying the ride with you!👍

I think your assessment how sheet metal goes together and how to surface a car are defiantly worth it. Getting 2 cars in workable shape for $7500 US is amazing. Been building classics since the 80's and it has gotten insane to restore even a single car. Expect to spend north of 40k in parts and sheet metal even if you do the work.

Recently sold an F 250. Nothing special but I restored it to 7/10. Delivering it I was stopped for gas. Gentleman came over and he said" man you did some job on that" wow I remember these new. DAN, at least now, YOU definitely know that the car is rust free and the work WAS DONE RIGHT. A lot of people buy the pretty cars with a ton of money only to find out that it's all fiberglass or botched work. YOU were able to pick up TWO 1960's Camaros on the cheap and had a TON of spare parts to help out in fixing them. No matter how you look at it, YOU scored a deal! The satin black with the gloss stripe will look mean and sweet too, awesome 👍. You did a lot of work that you could've done differently, but, it all worked out for the better in the end. Now, YOU got this awesome 😎 Camaro that you can build to whatever you want, just take that break and come to it later. I think 🤔 that you'll love 💕 this Camaro when it's going again. I've done everything you have but hang quarters on my cars in the day. You remind me of myself when I was working on my rides. Except hanging quarters. My teenage years were the 70's. When you look at the side of your Camero, it reminds me a little of my 70 Cuda. When I got done it was flat black. Drove it a year and sold it. If I told you half the cars I had back then you would flip. I also had a 67 RS 350 4 speed , and Camero 68 SS 396 4 speed. I could go on and on what I had. Everything was cheap back then. I’ve made a ‘69 out of a ‘68 before, mainly because the rear wheel opening is easier to expand for 14x32 slicks 😊

So glad you want to finish and drive her, thumbnail indicates selling her. I have owned my ‘69 RS Camaro since 1974. My car needs restoration as most but it’s still an all original car, long story. Cant say I’ve ever heard of a 68/69 combo car in my 66 years, looking forward to that one! I have seen a guy who grafted ‘69 front and rear sheet metal on to a 3rd Gen convertible (‘95 I think)-didn’t look too bad.

Dan I did alot of research before I bought a camaro and I went with a 1969 and what I learned is as long as the glass is the same on 67,68 and 69 that means that the sub body is the same so yes you can absolutely put 69 panels on a 68 but you do have to change all outside panels because it being wider the taillight panel and headlight panels are wider also, so it's not just throwing on quarters and that's it, you can stretch them but then you are right were you are right now with your 67. I really hope you get the drive back to finish this car because I really believe you deserve to have a beautiful 67 camaro and then if you sell it you will definitely make money, instead of breaking even. Hell I'm sure some of us watchers would be more than happy to come up and help you get the bodywork done so you can paint it properly.

Dude I've been a camaro fan for over 45 years. I've owned a few 2nd Gen Camaros, but my absolute favorite is the 1969 model. Now I'm no expert, but I was heavily involved in cars from the time I was 15 yrs old to my late 20's. Unfortunately I kind of fell out of it after that, and haven't made it back into it since. Although I'm hoping to try and get something within the next 2 years. Any who, for what my 2 cents is worth, I think you have done a great job of piecing the car back together, and now you have a very solid, almost completely rust free car to do whatever you want with. And that alone would be worth more than what you have invested in it to a lot of us car guys out here. Now with that being said, I completely understand the burn, as I have been there a few times myself. So good luck with your break, and hopefully you can come back with the same energy as when you started the project. But all in all, I think you have done a great job with the car. Good luck.

I bought my Uncles 68 Camaro he had restored for 10k in late 1998 or 1999. He replaced everything but the top and trunk lid. I had to sale it in 2017 and wish I still had it today. My friend messaged me one night and showed me pictures of it and it still looked the same. I didn’t know what happened to it because the guy that bought it from me sold it to another guy. I could have gotten a lot more money today for it in today’s prices! It had a small block 406 with aluminum heads and a big shot nitrous plate, turbo 350 transmission with a good torque converter. It had the big 10 bolt rear end with 4:10 gear I think. It had a rear seat that folds down. Also the 67 has the vent windows and 68 doesn’t.

You’re burning yourself out Dan . Hold back on the rush to drop more videos your fans will wait . Sometimes you rush your process without seeing what effects it will have as you concluded with the quarter panels. My guess is the frame was tweaked more than you thought and the back panel should have been replaced also as it too was damaged. Push the old girl out front and tarp it and see how you feel in a few days away from it before any rash decisions. Be careful and stay safe my friend God love ya brother.

I think that many people have this idea to fix their car, however the first road block stops them in their tracks and they don't go any further, their car is in the garage on blocks never to be finished and Dan on the other hand doesn't let things get in the way of him finishing his goal of getting it done, that's why we enjoy this channel we wish we were Dan, but we are not. I ran into the same problem with dynacorn quarters, they are not accurate at all. Slicing and dicing all over the place and required SO MUCH EXTRA WORK!..but skins are also no bueno, because then you have the cheesy seam inside the trunk, and the big long weld down both sides. I'll never do another pair of skins. The good news is first gen Camaros are ridiculously easy to sell if you get tired of it. I've sold several of mine (that weren't even for sale) some before they were even done, because somebody "had to have it"
